  • Using ballast on track can add a nice realistic touch to your layout, but it can also be a tricky and messy project. In this video, I share the best practices I have learned about the tools and process that make adding ballast a fun, easy project for anyone, regardless of skill level. As I say, "Trust me - If I can do this, so can you!" The video also includes some nice "zoom-in" clips that allow a closer look at each step in the process.

    Mr. Olsen, thank you for the clear presentations. Could you clarify a glue question for me? Are you using the
    Woodland Scenics Glue or Cement? Going only by research, no actual usage yet, WS advertises the GLUE
    for securing in place trees, bushes, etc. They say the CEMENT is for ballast and has the surfactant built in.
    Your thoughts please. Thank you.

      Hello, yes, "Scenic Cement" by Woodland Scenics is the best product to use for ballast. Thanks!
