Rooney stamped (It wasn't an accident and your blind or biased or both if you say otherwise) on the bollocks of an opposing player. Whether Ronaldo intervened or not, it was a straight red. Rooney lost the plot, snapped, and got what he deserved. Ronaldo was then made a scape-goat or the whole situation. But we'll av those Portugese next time i guarentee it.

So, you think if there are no goals then no team is outplayed? Do you watch many football matches? Here's a scenario: Team 1 takes 29 shots on goal, have 65% of possession, and hit the woodwork three times. Team 2 takes 2 shots on goal, and has 35% possession. Would you not say that Team 2 was outplayed by Team 1? I know in this game it was not so exaggerated, but you get my point.
I know it's hard to loose again with Portugal, but be humble enough to accept that if you lost was because of the lack of quality of your players! If this is your attitude you're never going to win anything!
just because everyone does it, doesnt mean that its not cheating. the rules in professional leagues are very lax when you consider how many times high profile players do actually dive or feint contact to receive a call from the ref. but in lower league games, like say sunday league matches, there is no point in going down under minimal contact because all you end up achieving is making yourself a target to making up for the call you conned the ref into making.
You might want to watch the video again if that's really what you think. It's quite clear that the chat is not friendly - Pauleta was talking to Rooney threateningly, pointing to himself, pointing at Ronaldo. Perhaps he was telling Rooney that the two of them were going to knock out England, or get Rooney sent off? We can't know for sure, what we do know is that it was not a kind comment. First of all. Ronaldo wasn't the one who got his eggs crushed. Second of all, Your right Rooney wasn't getting anything in the world cup. But that was because he broke his foot before the world cup. But if you look at the replays Rooney didn't look behind him and purposely crush the guy. Also the ref wasn't bothered by Rooneys ball crushing. It was him pushing Ronaldo after saying, give him a red card. Plus Rooney wouldn't do that with the weight of a whole country resting on his shoulders.

Rooney has a bad attitude problem. So anything he does automatically becomes more than just a normal foul or card. Refs usually know how violent he can be sometimes so they come in with a mindset. I think this view reflects the general sentiment towards Ronaldo in England. The English aren't denying they lost..but they are asking how they lost. Which is natural. Ronaldo's record and his subsequent behaviour make his a very bitter taste to swallow..even if it takes years, the damage to his reputation is done. people seem to be forgetting when saying we would still have lost that we had crouch on the bench who could have been a threat with rooney with him. when he did come on, he did his job well, in terms of holding the ball, but was very isolated. i think we would have had a great chance. as for ronaldo, how can he say he wasn't arguing for the red card, when the foul had already been given, so there would be nothing to argue about?
I think this view reflects the general sentiment towards Ronaldo in England. The English aren't denying they lost..but they are asking how they lost. Which is natural. Ronaldo's record and his subsequent behaviour make his a very bitter taste to swallow..even if it takes years, the damage to his reputation is done. He can't blame England for that because he was the instigator IMO.
Whether he lied or not: In fact, it was a very nasty foul of Rooney. And of course the English press doesn't criticize English Wayne Rooney, but looks for another scapegoat. So they stir up the people against Non-English Cristiano Ronaldo, instead of blaming Rooney. It's alsways easier to blame someone else than the own man.
As Ronaldo is at least 10 years younger than Beckham he should be better, most of you posting here seem very immature, do you really need to cuss to get your point across?
If it's true what the world is saying about what Materassi said to Zizou, I really hope FIFA punished him. He really really didn't deserve that at his last game. I just think British shouldn't be so hard on Cristiano R. It's just game incidents that normally happen.
I can always prove that even your favorite player had also put pressure on ref, yelling, forcing him to give a foul & card, protests his decision and etc even though everybody knows that ref won't change his decision. 99% players do such thing too!!
Also, both portugal players were trying to trip him by sticking their legs out in front of him. In my opinion, both portugal players should've been given a warning or a yellow card at the very least. Instead of criticizing Ronaldo for whatever he said to the referee you should criticize Rooney for what he did, he should see the red card no matter what. Don't put attention on Ronaldo so Rooney would be the poor guy who was stabed by a team mate.
