I bought a set of these a month ago Daryl and sold them last week. Picked up a set of used V1 10 case of ape sticks for £100 more UK.
They work better for my needs and eye candy and a bit less “vegas” look that these have.
I like these just a bit “clunky” in design and use. I’m not a DMX phobe and the ease of use of the APE with my ape tubes, coins & cans is far easier for my needs. I do have 12 of the IR4’s and they’re great as uplight and dance floor lights with my W-app all together.

I love that look too! That was with the Chauvet Well STX 180 which have their weight distributed evenly, and are quite a bitter lighter. I haven't figured out a way with the 360 tubes that looks good. Here's a video on the well stx

@@DJDarylBennettTthank you for the reply! OK that makes sense. I have the titan 360s by both lighting and they weigh a lot so I was running into that problem. I did end up buying a bunch of clamps to do some offsets. If I come up with a clever solution, I'll let you know, and I'll keep checking your video to see if you do to :)
I bought them from a different chinese factory with only minor differences. The quality is good. The lights are pretty bright and the battery lasts even in the brightest setting for a complete wedding. But unfortunately one of the batterys is dead after a year and the factory will not ship a new one, because it is "complicated" ... Those Stands are in deed a bit flimpsy. But you can tighten the screws with loctide to hold them inside the "leg-holder". I mean the ring, that holds the legs.

@19Jose91 I disassembled the battery. It are 6 cells, not labeled and they have a battery-management soldered inside. Replacement will be possible but also not cheap and some work to do for soldering... I bought mine from BlueSea Lighting / NWIITC
For mobile DJs, I think real-time music visualization devices will be of interest.
Agreed. A lot of the devices on the market currently are not designed to withstand the rigors of mobile DJ work.

Awesome video! Are these used for lighting the dancefloor? Like for fill lighting. Or more for just decoration by the DJ booth?
They don't have huge throw like normal washes but they provide a nice diffused light that isn't too harsh. If there's no house lights, these will do really well

80 channel, 12 channel is easier to program but you can’t see the attribute cues in the visualizer
@DJDarylBennett okay cool and what about in ma 3d? What fixture are you using since both isn't in their catalog?
Hang it upside down from the heavy side and that will solve your mounting at an angle problem

This was really helpful l just got my pixel tubes. For now l will just use the remote as l do with the Both RF up lights l have. Will the Both lighting App operate/control the pixel tubes and my RF up lights together?

im looking to finally get into some dmx light for home party use.. so nothing too serious. these look like what I want to start my setup with, along with soundswitch. would this be a reasonable setup for a beginner? would be using it with an xdj-xz and serato dj.
These would work, I'd probably use something even cheaper and simpler for just home party use.

U mentioned godox in this video have u tried to use it with Soundswitch? I don’t mind that it’s wired but how did u wire did u use a ether net to dmx?
No I haven't. They have DMX to 1/8 cable, which is what I think they use

No trick about it, just plug it in and then turn it on. Double check the outlet is working, the charging cable. If it still isn't charging, your light may be defective

I had the same issue when I tried on Saturday. I'll try again and post an update if I figure it out
My set of 4 came with stands.
The set of 4 with stands wasn't available when I made this video. But definitely a great option for not much more
Is there a way to make the lights bounce similar to how they do in some of the sound modes when just using autoloops on Soundswitch? I tried changing them to Multicell, but haven't seen a difference, they just do the normal wash effects. Not sure if I'm missing something.
You could do it manually in 40 or 80 channel mode.
You can also do it 12 channel mode with attribute cues.
My SS auto loop presets also do this effect.

sooo i dont use soundswitch, but i was wondering if you knew how to connect these tubes to rekordbox or even the ADJ WMX1...they just came in the mail 2 days ago and im lowkey pretty frustrated lol 😂... been sitting here for like 3 hours trying to control them so everything looks uniform ! i just want a XLR input so i can control these things !!!!!

@@DJDarylBennett thnx, got mine today, i was wondering if you might know this. if i use a led par bar also. can i stick a wireless dmx donner dongle into it, put it on the same id channel as the tubes and slave the parbar to the master of the tube? or is that a stretch?
@@DJ_CJ_NL if you have a DMX signal going into your par, then you could put a wireless dmx dongle on the OUT of the par, and the tube would receive the signal.
Of course the signal would need to include valid commands for the tubes. You cannot master/slave two unique fixtures, they must be the same ones
@@DJDarylBennett ah thanx Daryl. I don’t do that. This is the first light upgrade i did. I only have had a par bar for years. Looking for ways to intergrate but i’m going to use soundmode on both for the first upcoming gig see how that works.
Do you know any affordable tube lights with physical dmx? I play in a band that uses wireless devices that may interfere with dmx wireless, only reason i won't buy these

Any chance the app could be further developed so that all functionality of the light is controlled via the app, replacing use of the IR remote?
I think the app can control all of the functionality! Is there a particular feature that is missing that you'd like to see?
Hey Daryl! Happy to report my findings using the app for the 360 tubes. 1. There is not way to engage the different sound modes. 2 There is no way to engage the different auto modes. 3. There is no way to engage the strobe. I was able to select state colors from the color wheel which I thought was really cool!@@DJDarylBennett

Sequential patterns? If you use DMX, you can create any sort of patterns that you like! I don't think it's possible without dmx though
I have tried to get the bottom endcap off to replace with the sound activated one and it will just not turn. Any ideas?

@@eross21 they have several led pixel profiles already, and they have a very basic RGB 1 cell LED tape profile, so you can have as many of those as you configure with your led tape

Keen to get some myself but my fear is that guests will grab them and use them as light sabres as they look like toys. Has this ever happened to you before at a gig? How do you stop people from grabbing them?
I've had someone grab an uplight but never one of these. Having them on mic stands behind the booth definitely helps

I can buy custom MIDI mappings for DJ software for about 20 dollars and that shit takes hours longer than this.

I stand by my pricing. Plenty of people have purchased this project for the well stx and ax1 and have loved it. I have created plenty of resources to help people do this on their own for free. 🤷I've done some midi mapping and the time involved, complexity and artistry are not even in the same category.

They look really fragile for $850. They are making a killing off a $50 item
I've taken them to many gigs since the making of this video and so far so good. The Chauvet well STX 180s, two of them have broken since this video and had to be sent for a warranty repair
Man china knows exactly where you live and everything about you. I noticed you buy. A lot of stuff from them. Your best bet is not to buy direct from China rather than sellers from the US that ship from US addresses. Peace
