Slingshots ate dangerous and cheap ones especially. If you are going to buy a slingshot you want to make sure you by one form a company that make a quality product. Your eyes are worth far more then just your ability to see the pretty girls so don't be stingy get a good slingshot. I recommend Simpleshot shooting sports as the best slingshot makers in the world. But some of my other favorite slingshots come form China and are made by GZK.

I recently bought one of those similar $20 Chinese made slingshots that clamps the band between two sets of teeth and screws together. I was shocked at how sharp the metal felt where it gripped the band along with the corners on top where the band is stretching over. I actually sanded them all down a bit with fine grit sandpaper just so i felt better (even though i really know nothing about slingshots).
is that a legit way to grip the bands though? seems like that method would be really rough on the bands and speed up the wear and tear. Anyone with experience on those types? Thanx in advance - im getting a new one i think from your website either way.

I am using a Chinese made "Top-Bead-Stuck" frame. Made from solid 303 Stainless Steel round stock machined to hold single tube by using a 1/8in steel ball. It is a fine piece of work.

I have the 2nd one you showed. I've hit the frame plenty of times over the past year and the things holding strong. The only issue I have with them is if you like big 30mm bands, they hang over and the forks aren't smoothed over. I got a tie on type instead for the power bands.

I personally think the Chinese frames with adjustable sights and clips are the best you can buy for the money and the future of competitive target shooting. You just have to make sure its proper stainless steel or titanium, like you said you get what you pay for. If its under $20 dont bother
Also i feel these designs you tested are not a good choice for beginners because of the risk of hand hits with the extremely low forks (which I love) your release needs to be on point or SMACK.... im told its very sore 😉

stainless steel or titanium (more expensive) won't break- avoid anything that is made of "alloy"

Hi, been in china and use the Chinese made slingshots, there are some dangerous ones out there, try and ovoid the chrome/shiny looking ones, the alloy can be brittle, most of mine are at least 304 stainless and I have never had any problems with them...

Lol I kind of feel like this video was a fail lol. I purchased the Huntingdoor Slingshot and the YUNYILAN Professional Slingshot, from amazon, right before watching this video. I haven't recived them yet, but from watching your torture test on the Huntingdoor slingshot, I don't think I made a bad choice. I also know, I probably could have gotten them off wish, for cheaper, but I would have to wait like a month plus, vs two days, with prime. I know you promote other things and on other places, but it would be cool if you could recommend some slingshots from amazon, or put your slingshot there. I only purchase things from Walmart and Amazon. I like your vids, so far, I've only seen two of them, but none of the slingshots you recommend, are on Amazon, or if they are, I haven't seen them. The slingshot would also need to be a prime item, for two day shipping.

The Scout and some other simple shot sling shots are on Amazon. However, Fowler's shop is well done and safe. Also, his prices are the same as simple shot's website. So any profit made is going somewhere us fans can feel good about. But I have also bought a top archery and a More farther brand slingshot from Amazon and they do seem to hold up well and shoot straight

Totally nice efforts to execute some destruction tests on those high end Chinese slingshots. The only safe plastic for slingshots are HDPE and Nylon, highly resilient and never brittle.
Great tests! Nice to see how much abuse they can take. I'd definitely stick to a solid construction rather than assembly. I see the it took hammers to do them in, I'd rather use one You made or another of your favs.

Thanks for this video. I am just starting out, and I am wondering how often a band will break at the fork, and if it does, how likely the band will slap your eye. Naturally, one tends to align the ball at the cheeks, lets say at the rear corner of your mouth (that's how I shoot archery too). That's very close to the eyes. What say you?

The best and 1st 1 I ever started with a dankung loop tube band it's more powerful with loop tube compared to flat and I'm more accurate with the dankung I have not tried flat band with it though

So I have a couple of these types with the sights like you show about 3:20 in. I've since taken off the sights and have begun pulling my band over that side of the forks, making it more a solid ott set up. How do you think this works compared to how they're supposed to be set up. I did this because of watching other videos of yours showing to go completely over the top instead of pulling through as they are rigged in this video

Alright sir,I'm an Irish man.The best caddys (sling shot) we use are called Barnet.The one every one starst out with is called the Black Widow but when you get more serious you'll step up to the Diablo,This is the Top of the range caddy.The main difference is our sling shots have an arm rest that counter acts the pull of the band.Check them out

Never had a projectile come back at me from shooting a slingshot however I've had a band come loose and hit me in the face it happened to be on a 50 pound pull slingshot and so it was quite painful but no permanent damage however if it had hit me in the eye it may have been serious and so the moral of the story always wear eye protection even a sub 20 lb call slingshot band coming back at your I could cause quite a bit of damage
Yeah or verificate the band before shot.

I thought you were going to show a homemade one break, because the grain is naturally weak, if it was made from a board. The band getting weak at the frame, is an eye problem.

nothing wrong with them I have ever seen but I have only shot one or to and when I buy stuff from them I look at there slingshots but never see one I'm all that interested in shooting. but I love there rubbing best stuff in the world. my frameless slingshot bracelet I ware all the time is made from there 2040 tubing
@@FowlersMakeryandMischief Hey pretty rad stuff man. I'm all about the simple steel frames myself. I have a hook-tipped slingshot that I adapted into a ttf flat-band shooter. It's a pretty rad adaptation. Could show you sometime.
Take a look at the ergonomic cold bend slingshot. Looks a lot like aome gzk ones.

Did anyone else notice the on the slingshot magazine the guy had his band twisted slightly. All the things i have read say you shouldnt twist the pouch.

You can twist the pouch how ever much u like if the release is right in use a slingshot all the time when shooting ttf it helps keep a steady hand I have the photos of my kills to back it up and go watch gamekeeper John's video on hot to aim a catapult he's one of the best shooters in the world if not the best he twists his pouch 180 degrees when shooting a pfs
TWO WORDS--------------SAFETY GLASSES !! Only takes once..could be !st shot...or ..1,000.000th shot.....but only takes 1....... BE SAFE!!! Slingshot ricochet's are very common.....even outdoors....
