Well, if Xunami was doing drag when Seasons 4 & 5 were auditioning, that's a lot of time. I doubt Kandi was even doing drag back then -- I think her becoming a Muse was a much more recent thing.

Trisha made a good point though. It was completely non-confrontational, so some people really need to chill. It isn't exactly fair that you can win every challenge and slay the runway but mess up a lip sync and be sent home

exactly, im sorry i liked amanda, but all her responses online to people that aren't necessarily coming for them, have been so rude and mean. like mhiya I get the responses, and trisha saying she was just curious is a valid interaction, but Amanda chiming in after the fact to be fucking rude saying there should be a requirement before you can comment on a show is just so rude and stupid
That's exactly what's fair when you have an elimination called "lipsync for your life". I've seen a lot of people saying that the queens should learn how to sew the bare minimum by now, but that also applies for lipsyncs. Queens should know how to perform in a way you can have a good edit and not be demolished in the lipsync like it happenned to Plasma. And no, it doesn't mean learning flips and tricks.But just moving your lips, pointing at stuff and doing some basic dance moves cut it.
But plasma didnt do well and went In the bottom if you do good every challenge you don’t have to lip sync and lip sync is a bigger part of the drag community than the challenges so I think it should have more weight on it than your track record when you go to a club you don’t watch a queen make a dress you watch them perform a lip sync.
@@funbun686Amanda is still bitter from plane Jane 😂 and her saying you need to watch drag race seasons to give a opinion shows her lack of knowledge of drag considering that rupaul drag race only shows a small proportion of what drag is like go to a drag show or go to a ball and watch drag at its rawness and then Amanda will know what proper shade feels like.
It sucks that plasma went home but it is what it is. Mhi’ya isn’t great at drag race specifically and that’s okay cause she’s a great performer outside of the show but I’m sure she knows her time is running thin just like how Geneva knew it was her time when she was in the bttm for the third time.
Yeah I was honestly disappointed because maya didn’t even make her own dress (and if she did production didn’t show us) she lied about her garment and imo should have gone home. She’s a GREAT dancer but like y said , it’s gonna get old.
Bad at drag race is a stretch she slayed the girl group challenge, did pretty decent in snatch game and has been slaying her lip sync performances its not her fault 3 of the challenges have been design challenges and she cant sew

I’m sad about Plasma leaving bc she’s sooooo good at Drag Race. Mhi’ya definitely won the lip sync, but I don’t think she’s good at drag race. Which is perfectly fine bc drag race isn’t the end all be all of drag. She’s an AMAZING performer and I know she’s gonna be booked and busy for a long time. I’m really just gonna miss seeing Plasma on my TV lol. I never saw either of them winning tho unfortunately.
Also I’m gonna add… this is obviously based off what we’ve seen so far. It seems like Mhi’ya is really feeling her oats the last 2 episodes, so I hope that it gives her the confidence to start doing more in the other non-sewing challenges.
keep in mind, we've only had one true performance challenge and three design challenges. If the challenges were more of a fair/equal split as to the types of challenges, we'd see a very different track record. This season is set up for designers to, if not win, excel. so I get a little tired of hearing about track record when the challenges are so obviously catered to certain queens production is favouring over others.
@@graphiquejack I didn’t bring up track record tho lol. She hasn’t even really been bringing it in the confessionals or werk room until about 2 episodes ago. I’m just going off of what we’ve seen.

When Mhi'ya did those backflips in a gown i knew it was over for Plasma. And rightefully so. No shade to Plasma, she had a great run on the show and can be proud. She wouldn't have won anyway, RuPaul doesn't seem to care much for the theater queens.
Jinkx was and will always be the exception: because of her storyline and talent. Yes plasma is talented but she’s not winner material

The only reason Trisha Paytas started watching Drag Race last season is because Sugar imitated her on Snatch Game. She’s clueless about drag and she understands drag race very little. I wouldn’t take to heart the things she says and hopefully Mi’hya hasn’t either, because after all this is someone who built their career off being a mean offensive troll online.

I’m not the biggest fan of Mhi’ya, but she did kill the lip sync. I did think track records might be used for this lip sync due to Plasma’s wins and the fact that this was Mhi’ya’s third time lip syncing.
I’m very excited to see how the queens “react” and continue on in the next episode.
This is so insane to me...like 90 percent or MORE of drag shows are queens performing...they are not just walking around showing off fashion or sewing outfits for fans. Its called a lip sync for your life for a reason...Ru likes to be entertained. If your skill is as a performer, then you go with what you know...same with the fashionistas. Queens today are multifaceted but its insane to not give props to someone for doing what queens do night in and night out on a weekly basis!
If they’re just now taking into advance that myiha outperformed everyone she lip synced against then Jax and Jasmine Kennedie should get a big fat apology cuz they were done dirty

Jasmine and Jax lost their eliminated lipsyncs fairly though, let's not pretend Plasma was anywhere near as good as Bosco or Anetra when it mattered
@@xviolaa well no she wasn’t (rip plasma) I’m just saying there have been times in the past where queens obviously outperformed other queens but production still chose to keep whoever performed worse. And it seems to be doing a complete 180° with Mhiya this season. Because they typically value track record and to see that not happen with Plasma despite Mhiya having a weaker one was shocking. That’s it.

Listen… I get Mhi’ya’s beanie was underwhelming. But there’s something so satisfying about Mhi’ya breaking all these “cardinal sins” of lipsyncs and slaying it and having Ru allow her to stay, especially with Ru telling Mhi’ya she needs to show up more. Ru can see Mhi’ya shine and therefore she stays. Doing multiple flips in a gown is so impressiveeee

Mhi'ya is a fun queen. I really enjoy watching her but she is so unfinished. Her lack of detail drives me a bit crazy. A huge example is the picture at 11:07 where she is upside down with no panties or visible undergarmets on. If your gig is being upside down flipping why wouldn't you care about what is under your outfit that will be revealed when you flip?

Hell just froze over because I completely agree with Trisha here. She is right. They should still do lip syncs of course but there should be another way to determine a true winner. There are definitely season winnners who would have been sent home if they had to lip sync. People get waaaay to salty about this show and clap back instead of taking on the point and talking it through. 😂
Trisha is right though. It's about time that they change the format of determining who goes home. It's f**ked up that someone could be great at million things except dancing and still go home because someone is good at dancing but can't do anything else.
It's not true that she can't do anything else. I think its boring and too predictable to just look at the track record. If a girl really pisses all over that stage and outperforms the other; really fights for her life (like Mhi'ya did) she should stay imo.

Having the lip sync matter more spices it up and makes the show less predictable tho. If I can tell who would be top 3 or 4 after a few episodes then I just don't watch anymore until the finale. If a top player can be knocked out at any time, then it's more watchable from week to week.
I get what you're saying and I sort of agree, but at the same time I don't know if predictable is worse than having weaker queens in the top. If Mhi'ya for example ended up sending Sapphira and Q home I think people would lose interest as well.

I think Plasma deserved to stay over Mya, she has shown she’s a strong competitor while Mya has consistently been in the bottom (and she made her own outfit even if it wasn’t good). BUT I don’t think any hate should be sent to Mya, it’s not her fault she didn’t go home. I know everyone hates to see a queen “overstay their welcome” in the competition, but I don’t think any negativity should reflect back on them but rather on production.

The other queens had to make their own looks from scratch completely on their own. Yeah she was in the bottom but the other girls put in their 100% on their own. I think their annoyance is fair.

I’ve watched every single season of drag race, starting at 4 in 2013, watching the previous seasons on Netflix and the rest as they aired. I also agree that it’s unfair that track record isn’t considered when judging the lipsyncs. I don’t really think Trisha was in the wrong there.
I wouldn’t have minded that Mhi’ya had shantayed, since she did win the lip sync. HOWEVER, if they want to be fair and keep the person who wins the lip sync every time, they should’ve kept Amanda and not Q. I just ask for consistency
Track record gives you a little bit of leeway, if it's close enough to justify. Amanda beat Q but only slightly, neither were that great. Mhi'ya put Plasma in the ground in a way that it wasn't even close, track record was never gonna save her.
I feel like they pick one person every season that they knowing keep on way longer than makes any sense... It's like part of their "formula"and it's getting old

You don't clearly win when you take off shoes, shed accessories, take off your wig and perform the whole thing in a wig cap. The show famously sends queens home for doing one of these and she did all of them. For some reason now they are contradicting what has been established since the show started... Probably to get the drama and fan reaction.

Funny how naysha said the lispync is about syncing your lips but in her lipsync against chi chi she was flipping and dipping (and falling apart)

What's more important is what kind of impression the viewers will have about you. Even though Mhi'ya got to stay in the show a few episodes longer, what's the point if she will be remembered as the queen who is good at nothing but flipping.

I think what is frustrating here is that Mhi’ya didn’t make the whole dress & it just doesn’t seem fair.
I don't think the season caters to the queen's strength cuz s12 and s7 also had a lot of great seamstresses yet they were more on acting challenges

I think track record already plays a huge part on deciding who is the the bottom 2. If theres a bottom 3 and the 3 people are kind of on the same level of bad, usually the queen with the best track record is saved from being in the bottom 2. We see that happening time and time again (La Grand Dame in UKvsTW, for example). In this challenge, Plasma was hands down THE WORST so she was put in the bottom 2. Now.. If there is a lipsync to determine who should be saved and who should go home, in my opinion the lipsync has to matter and not the track record. I say this all the time to my friends. I miss when earlier seasons valued the lipsyncs more. I don't like this new trend of knowing who's gonna go home next. It goes to show how little the lipsync matters these days. So in my opinion I think it's good that the lipsync mattered this time cause like I said I miss earlier seasons when the lipsync mattered more.

It's pretty simple. If queens do not want to go home for losing a lipsync, then they have to stay out of the bottom. What Trisha said would be true if two queens were randomly picked each week to lipsync, but that is not the case.
I've watched every season of drag race and after seeing last week's show, I'm inclined to agree with Patricia. Plasma was the stronger queen, and Myah from what I've seen is just a good lip sync performer. I'm really clinging to Plasma coming back Trixie style this week because that elimination was a travesty

That was tame for Trisha I think the response by Amanda was interesting considering how long they have been doing drag, if it was a seasoned queen I can understand but not someone who bases all of there drag experience from watching drag race 😂

If LaLa got to stay after the bag ball, I think they had to let Mhi'ya stay here too. If Plasma's lip sync were better by a few notches maybe they could rationalize keeping her instead, but the way it went down there was just no chance.
