    This is awesome! I will steal your design, if you don't mind. :) I might adapt it to make a 3 seater bench with a taller back support.

    That came out great! You are right about"measure as you go". It is nice to start and finish a project in just a few hours, and on the same day. This is gorgeous enough to be an indoors chair as well. Love these simple builds.

    Like your idea of clamping a piece of wood behind your joint to make sure its flush 👌 The chair looks great! The 2x4's look so much better after going through the planer and table saw. I don't have either so wouldn't be able to get a finish like that.

      Yes, the planning really helps. It makes it so they don't really look like stock lumber anymore. I've had some viewers send me what they made though and even without the planning some turned out great.

    @Nathan Builds, I agree about the screws. They take away from the clean lines of the chair. You could counter sink the screws, and plug them. It will give it a more appealing look. Otherwise, it's great chair.

      I thought about that, but the wood is not thick enough. At this point I could remove them and plug them since the glue is dry. I'll have to think about it some more. Thanks for the feedback!

      Quick question, if you have time. When determining the angles for my back and seat, do you suggest just eyeballing it to suit my personal taste? Looks like the back and seat on yours are about 105 degrees? I checked out your sketchup and was able to find a way to view the lengths of all boards but not angles. Thanks!

    • @NATHANBUILDS
      @NATHANBUILDS  4 роки тому +1

      @@organize1979 Yeah I would just eyeball it to your preference. If I recall mine was about 100-105, but I also have a similar sofa build that is 90 degrees, but just angled back slightly. Both have worked well. Hope this helps!

And, you even have you in the beginning now! Wow!! I also noticed that you got a new table table saw, a Dewalt no less!! I'm jealous!! Which model is it and where did you get it from? Great build again and I can't wait for your next build!! 🙂

And yes I've gotten a few new tools - the table saw is so much nicer than my last one. It saves a ton of time and if much more enjoyable to use. I have the DWE7491RS which I got on Amazon, but it's also sold at home improvement stores. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the other builds! If you didn't get a notification you probably have to hit the bell? Already, have a good one!

    So your sketchup file makes it pretty difficult to find the lengths of all the pieces. I figured out the lengths for the side components. However, what length are the seat support pieces and what are the approximate angles? Can you add a cut list in the description, by any chance? Thank you!

    • @NATHANBUILDS
      @NATHANBUILDS  4 роки тому +1

      Hey Gina - unfortunately I dont have a cut list or drawings beyond the sketchup. I have only started adding some of those to my newer videos (they take a bunch of time). However, take a look at this video and it will show you how to pull dimensions from sketchup really easily: ua-cam.com/video/89SqAnNeH9g/v-deo.html
      However from a rough dimensions - the seat bottom pieces are about 15.5" on the long side, the back pieces are 13.25" on the long side, and the front and back horizontal supports of connecting the two legs units are 19.25". For the different angles - I think the best way to solve that problem is to do it more ad hoc, similar to how I did it on my most recent sofa build (but you can also pull that off the sketchup if you want to be exactly like mine. Here is the new sofa build: ua-cam.com/video/JvzaApS7a_8/v-deo.html - I focus on this specific problem around 4:50 mark. Hope this helps!

    Hey Mr. Nathan, I’m hooked to your channel. I’ve been watching lately on my spare time. Also, how do you like your Hitachi miter saw? I’m looking to start buying some affordable tools for woodworking. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

    • @NATHANBUILDS
      @NATHANBUILDS  4 роки тому +1

      It is definitely great bang for the buck. However if you can afford it, I regret not getting a sliding compound miter saw. That adds a decent chunk to the cost though. So for the price to value, I am really happy with what I have.

    • @NATHANBUILDS
      @NATHANBUILDS  4 роки тому +1

      If you are getting a table saw, you can also make or buy a miter sled and then skip the dedicated miter saw. Depends on what you are planning on making though.

    • @shirocp
      @shirocp 4 роки тому

      @@NATHANBUILDS Hey! Thanks for the quick reply. Thanks for the feedback, very helpful. That's another aspect to look into about the miter saw, sliding or not. I figured a sliding miter saw would come in really handy. Also, I'm thinking about getting my table saw first. I came across an affordable price for a Rigid R4518 ($349) & DeWalt DW745 ($369). I appreciate you Mr. Nathan, looking forward to the next project!

    • @NATHANBUILDS
      @NATHANBUILDS  4 роки тому +1

    • @NATHANBUILDS
      @NATHANBUILDS  4 роки тому +1

      You can do most cuts with a table saw, so if it was me I would probably start there over just a miter saw.
