Thanks for giving me flashbacks! In the U.S., my friends and I were depressed that Transformers were essentially dead, and all that was left in the stores were damaged boxes of figures released years before (it's funny how much longer years were as a kid; now, they disappear like random socks in the dryer). I visited my relatives in Germany, and there on the shelves were brand-new Transformers I had never seen and catalogs for entire teams I knew nothing about! My parents didn't have the money to buy them then, but the idea that Transformers were such an expansive universe that what my friends and I knew was just the tip of the iceberg blew my mind. I grabbed a newspaper ad that had some of these new Transformers and took it back with me to the U.S. My friends and I dreamed about who these characters were, how they'd fit in the Transformers Universe, and how they transformed because it looked like it was different than the usual fall on your belly, push in the legs and arms, and fold out the plane parts that was such a staple of G-1 jets. The ad eventually fell apart and probably got sold with the rest of my Transformers while my parents were scraping for money for their cancer treatments while I was in college (Yes, I absolutely gave them permission, and I'm glad they did it even if I miss all the toys, catalogs, and random comics that were mixed in the collection I grew up with, I'd have sold my arms and probably a few internal organs for a few more years with them). Nonetheless, just names like "Skyscorchers" and "Predators" still give me the warm fuzzy glow of realizing that something I loved didn't die; it just moved on to another place to take on fresh new shapes and twists that the children there would love just as much. Heh, I like to think it's also one of the reasons that while my other friends saw G2, unilaterally decided it was all trash, and got out of Transformers, I was convinced there would be gems and discovered that in this line, as in life, if you are open to look for them, the gems are always there! I'd love to see Hasbro introduce us all to updated legacy versions of these characters, it might spark a little curiosity in people and inspire them to look into the recesses of this fandom they never explored before!
As a Swede, I wish you a very happy dark-and-cold-autumn-thats-almost-winter-but-not-really-where-the-sun-rises-at-eight-and-sets-at-four. I am thankful for having ALMOST any daylight. Almost. And hey, for all we know "Decepticon" could just be a flight service with "deceptively low prices" as their slogan! And the poor bot can't walk straight on land, he has those air-legs.
I had his team leader Windrazor, but I got him for Christmas 1993 and he was one of my absolute favorite G2 Transformers!!! I'm hoping to be able to find him since I lost him years ago!!!😢😢😢
Those "Landing gear" you're talking about are drop tanks, basically external fuel tanks to give the aircraft extra range that are designed to be easily dropped mid-flight in the event that the aircraft gets into an engagement
This figure is easily one of my favorites from G2 - I loved the light piping and overall design, even if it's articulation was pretty abysmal. Happy Thanksgiving, and congratulations on your 20k
20K!!! wow, you'll get there soon enough. Happy Thanks Giving to you and yours, Jason. You are a great reviewer and a great person, I'm thankful to call you a friend.
Happy Thanksgiving! These are really the last series of toys I remember buying from Generation 2. I managed to hold on to Afterburner (the blue F-104) for years afterward and always thought it was bad timing for G2 to end just as interesting new figures were coming out.
ah i LOVE this guy ! the line mighta been winding down by this stage with alot of the products being naff but there was still a few jems in there and the skyscorchers were among em. interesting transformations and they all came with weapons storage.
UK and Europe got these and their Autobot counterparts in G1, with correct insignia. The G2 version of the Skyscorchers were released with new logos for G2, the Axelerators (the Autobot versions) had different coloured windscreens as well as the new insignia logos
He looks like an interesting jet robot, albeit a bit tiny if G1 Starscream towers over him. I just recently bought a Universe Devastator and he's got a comparable height to G1 Starscream, wanted to get another winged robot combiner that had the Decepticon repaint, yet I can't afford him....(Universe Sixwing has such a good repaint it's insane....)
I love the Skyscorchers! I still have my Terradive and Eagleeye from when I was a child! I was fortunate enough to find the european Eagle Eye on card at botcon last year too. A gorgeous grail in my opinion.
I've never heard of these either. Love the color scheme. G2 rarely disappoints on that though. The face is very reminiscent of Transformers Prime Soundwave.
I bought Eagle Eye back in the 90's (still have him), and even though he was small, his transformation was fun and interesting. I loved switching him back and forth between modes. I wish I'd picked up the others in the series, if they were as good as him.
I love this figure and the Skyscorchers, some of my favourite European Exclusive G1 and G2 Transformers, though he was released in the US in G2 making him not entirely exclusive to Europe. A really sleek and unique jet mode and an incredible robot mode. Love that great head-sculpt with awesome light-piping too. Only downsides are he can be unstable and the weapon wasn’t chromed like they were for the Axelerators.
I had this as a kid. I knew he came with a weapon. I was convinced I was insane for a while. Also had an Autobot named Turbofire. After the required bits of course.
I miss the days like this when there was more variety in the styles of jets that weren't Seekers. The head is similar to the Cyberjets (who were also G2). And Happy Thanksgiving to you as well.
Say, Patroit! I totally missed out on Rodimus Primal’s sale at TFCon Baltimore - he had tons! This set of Generation 2 jets we’re actually great… awesome articulation for Transformers of this size at that time… Definitely curious to see your reviews of the rest of them when you find them all. Cheers! \m/,😊,\m/
I bought it back in the day. I believe I had the whole team. The non G1 G2 toys were interesting. I had the Axelerators, too. I wish these figures had modern updates.
Hope you and your family had a very Happy Thanksgiving 🦃. And I hate being this guy, but to my memory he came out in 1993. With that said it is possible I got him as a very early release, as I saw him and and teammates more often in 94.
With so many jets in the whole franchise, why hasn’t the Air Force asked for an official transformer yet? Seems like branch specific transformers, maybe one per year, would be big sellers.
honestly i like to think of these g2 jets (skyscorchers) are a new generation of seekers. wish they got new lore. lots of room for more decepticon jets~! happy national american Turkey Death day.
Can't believe you're almost at 20k. That's stunning progress. Nice review!
You and me both!

I had HIM !!! Thank you for unlocking that core memory bro !

Happy Thanksgiving, and congratulations on your 20k
I hope you had a great turkey day too!
Rodimus Primal sold me Overkill- can’t remember the line, but the one who is a repaint of Grimlock, anyway a very chill guy, he was awesome
20K!!! wow, you'll get there soon enough. Happy Thanks Giving to you and yours, Jason. You are a great reviewer and a great person, I'm thankful to call you a friend.
Thanks so much Raz.
Looking forward to when we can hang out in person again.
Thankful for you, man! Happy Thanksgiving!
Same to you!

The weapon looks like a super soaker gun, love it! Like the A-7 jet mode too!

Thanks, i just ordered Afterburner to go with him.
Happy thanksgiving to you and your family sir. Greatly appreciate you.
Same to you!
Awesome I just got this guy last weekend at a new toy store I found in my town
I had this as a kid. I knew he came with a weapon. I was convinced I was insane for a while. Also had an Autobot named Turbofire. After the required bits of course.
for a few years transformers was only sold in the UK Terradive came out in this uk only g1 line and was released in america when G2 happened.
I miss the days like this when there was more variety in the styles of jets that weren't Seekers. The head is similar to the Cyberjets (who were also G2).
And Happy Thanksgiving to you as well.
Agreed. Not every Con jet needs to be a Seeker.
I hope you have a great TURKEY DAY.
happy thanks giving day patriot

Happy Thanksgiving to all and have a stuffing good time
Fantastic video and figure 👍👍👍👍there should be a way to move the tail of the plane.
Happy Thanksgiving to you too

They're pretty cool.
I wonder if the Sky scorchers were a subset of the G2 Cyberjets? I do wish I had the guy though.
Happy😊 Thanksgiving🦃 Patriot Prime😊
I had 3 of the 4 as a kid😊
Hope you and your family had a very Happy Thanksgiving 🦃. And I hate being this guy, but to my memory he came out in 1993. With that said it is possible I got him as a very early release, as I saw him and and teammates more often in 94.
He was released in 1993 in Europe, 1994 in the States.
I feel like every euro g1 character needs a modern generations update
Happy thanksgiving
You too
Happy Thanksgiving~ o7

As I look up at my tv as you’re having trouble getting him to stand. The decepticons are all getting drunk on energon. 😂 episode microbots.
I preview of me enjoying beverages after my meal today.
this looks more like a gobot then a transformer.
Gun looks like a paint ball gun. Lol
Can you ask Toyhax to start doing G2 decals? I need a lot. They're leaving money on the table. It's the same as Machine Wars. Happy Thanksgiving
