Nothing will beat Jim caviezel
That one was so Epic..
That one was okay if you didn't read the book, but it took way too many liberties for my taste. Hope this adaptation stays more faithful to the book.
Check out the 1975 version with Richard chamberlain. I believe it’s on you tube.
Per favore quel film è orrendo e penoso|
I read the book and watched several adaptations. The Soviet adaptation with Viktor Avilov as the cunt is the best adaptation.
And I say that the film with Jim Caviziel is a ridiculous film.
Albert being the Count's son and suddenly becoming father and son. Even if he was his biological son, Albert was much more likely to become the Count's enemy than Brutus was to Julius Caesar, despite everything Caesar did for him.
The greatest book of all time.
It is a book
@@shazzthedon is that a question or statement?
absolutely
coincido, el mejor, hasta deja una moraleja
Damn, Dumas is smiling in heaven.
Watching the French language version will be liquid silk on my ears.
I see what you did there... 😀
Like cleaning your ears with silk...?
I speak french , and I can say : C'est l'une des histoires les plus profondes que j'ai jamais vu et l'acteur qui a incarné le rôle d'Edmund a bien joué, mais bien sure rien ne peut battre Jim Caviezel. I can't wait to see the french version of this masterpiece.

Bellissimo film 💯💯💯👏👏👏👍👍👍 grazie per averlo caricato 💯👏👍😊
wow
patiently waiting for the release
wonderful
Awesome!
Looks well done. Very stylish.
Wow this looks amazing
Lets see if it can top Jim caviezel's count of monte cristo.
The 2002 adaptation is the worst adaptation of the book.
The best adaptation is the prisoner of Château D'if (1988).
The 2002 adaptation omits the count's young bride who is inspired by Queen Cleopatra. Just as Caesar and Cleopatra join forces against Cleopatra's brother and his advisors, the count and his new bride unite against a common enemy, Fernand.
A rich and powerful man like count could make you a young lover just like Caesar had Cleopatra. Why would he return to Mercedes?
@@GaiusJuliusCaesar-dx9nlI haven't watched the russian adaptation, how faithful is it to the book?
Also, while I really didn't enjoy the 2002 movie, there's even a version with Gérard Depardieu from the late 90s, that feels like it's even worse in my eyes.
@@suppahfreak4084 The Soviet adaptation
ua-cam.com/video/wLn3tlBUahI/v-deo.html
It is an adaptation divided into three parts.
@@suppahfreak4084 This is the eighth French adaptation.
The first major adaptation is the French version from 1918.
There is the French miniseries from 1979 by Denys de La Patelliere, who is the father of Alexandre de La Patelliere, who is one of the film's directors.
ua-cam.com/video/b1eMRVrncjA/v-deo.html
This adaptation is a copy and paste of the book. The dialogues are all taken from the book.
Roger Dumas, who played Captain Concles in the 1998 miniseries, he played Danglars in the 1979 miniseries.
zim caviezel masterpice acting ..any one cant break the record❤❤❤
The 2002 version is an American parody of the book.
Ma avete mai visto un film?🤣🤣🤣🤣
I want to see this
This looks good
Ahh man I cant wait to watch this. The original was a great movie. I rank it one of my top movies. It had love, friendship, betrayal and revenge. Oou can't wait!
Read the book. Better still the audiobook. It's something like 50 hours. It's in UA-cam for free

@@GaiusJuliusCaesar-dx9nl I wouldn't know. Only ever read the OG version
Instead or doing another remake, why don’t they make a Biopic about Thomas-Alexandre Dumas, Alexandre Duma’ Father and the inspiration for the Count of Montecristo. But no, lets make remake after remake.
Praying its as good as the last one cant wait to c it ❤
Oh great, can’t even get the prison story right. The hole was in the floor!
this could be the first movie on Montecristo, looks like the screenwriter actually read the book
Except for the parts where he got it wrong. The hole in his cell was in the floor. He didn’t escape through some pit, he was carried out in a body bag and thrown into the sea.
@@TRechs I'dont see how he escape in this trailer, not sure if the pit scene is the escape scene ,anyway last movie I watched was so unaccurate and ended with the count marrying mercedes
It's not just that.
The film has two screenwriters who are also the directors, Alexandre de La Patellière, Matthieu Delaporte.
And Alexandre de La Patellière's father, Denys de La Patellière, was the director of the miniseries Le comte de Monte Criso (1979) with Jacques Weber. This is a faithful adaptation of the book, without any changes.
And Alexandre de La Patellière is the best adaptation of the book.

The Soviet adaptation, The Prisoner of Château d'If (Узник замка Иф, romanized: Uznik zamka If) by Georgi Yungvald-Khilkevich
ua-cam.com/video/nxEg_5noQ6g/v-deo.html
It's also a faithful adaptation. There's even the end of the count with Haydee. The final scene is the two kissing.
Great sandwich!!
this was v's favorite movie.

The movie we dont deserve, but we need
Yet we don't. The first one is perfect enough.
@@traveler7353 The first adaptation is from 1918.

There was the 1979 French miniseries by the father of one of the directors of that film.
ua-cam.com/video/b1eMRVrncjA/v-deo.html
The 2002 adaptation can only be perfect for those who haven't read the book.
Because the 1979 miniseries is much better.
Hope Henry Cavill makes a cameo appearance
Great story, but I like the Depardieu version
Oh great ANOTHER remake of this ,what is it now 5 or 6
France has 7 adaptations and this is the eighth. And there will also be the miniseries with Sam Claflin.
I would suggest not watching it.
It isn't even a remake since they didn't based it from any previous adaptations but the book that is still in the public domain.
Never enough
I know of at least two Egyptian movies based on this story. People love revenge stories. I dont think a film about forgiveness will be very popular.
Poor Hollywood, still doing remakes, what else is new
I did not know Hollywood was in France and full of French actors. Interesting.
Why isn’t this in American?! Subtitles! That just unpatriotic (obviously a joke…)
👍🏼
This was a movie that I truly loved and for you all to put language in French, and I also saw two of The Count of Monte Cristo. With first Jim Caviezel and Richard Chamberlain. I love them both, but the one with Jim was my favorite. I think I saw like 10 times. But this new one they have coming out this summer, I don't think I will want due to the fact that it's in French with English sub titles, and for trying to read the sub titles, I can't really enjoy the movie, because the sub titles flash by too quickly. So, nah, I will not be seeing this version until they have the language in English.
I think you lose more when you have voicover actors trying to convey what the on screen actors put forth. So much lost. I can never watch dubbed any more. All that to say that I don't see this being better than the Caveziel version. The cast was so strong and the sceeenplay amazing.
There will still be a miniseries with Sam Claflin in lnguage english
Dumas inspired by the story of Caesar and Cleopatra, he wrote that Dantes falls in love with an Eastern princess who is younger than him.
Just like Caesar despite being married, he has a romance with Cleopatra, Edmond, despite his former engagement with Mercedes, he supposedly has a romance with his beautiful princess from the East.
I love this story, but why did this need a remake? We're already drowning in remakes and re-boots. Can't we get a solid original story not the 15th release of this one please.
the original version is a 1918 French series that was released in cinema. France before the horrible 2002 adaptation had already released 7 adaptations. The 2002 version that deviated from the book that should never have existed.
Damn.. Not in English..
Least I got that classic one that didn't really need a remake anyways..
🃏
The Count of Monte Cristo was not written in English and is not part of American culture. It is a French book and is part of French culture.
The Americans who appropriated the book.
It's not a remake of the ridiculous 2002 adaptation, it's an adaptation of the book. France has been adapting the book for over 100 years.
It has the 1918 adaptation.

@@Fernando-nz3rb I know its 100+ years old and from French culture.. I was just speaking Cinematically..
I'm not much for reading as I get older, but a new English adaptation would definitely get my attention.. I absolutely Loved that 'ridiculous 2002 adaptation'..
(Don't care for reading movies and a bit late to learn the languages.. lol)
🃏
why?
I don't see yakapol I still like the one before this. I guess it's hard to come up with new storyline or they're just lazy
No
Nope. I’m not watching a movie with subtitles.
I love the sound of the French language, but i hate movies with subtitles. I want to enjoy the picture not read. Sorry not Sorry 😂

Stilling people ideas.
Im sorry but the Jim Caviezel Count is the best modern retelling. I know that this is in French, hence more accurate to the book. But that doesnt make the storytelling any better. And in terms of visual storytelling, this already looks so forgettable and generic by comparison.
It's similar to what happened to the newest Little Women.
The film with Jim Caviezel is rubbish. A cluster of idiotic clichés that don't appear in dramas based on true stories like Cleopatra (1963 and 1999)?
The Roman dictator Julius Caesar, despite being married, had an affair with the young queen of Egypt. Despite being married, he had an affair with the young queen of Egypt. Why in the adaptation of Cleóaptra, is there no familiar cliché from the mediocre film with Jim Caviezel? This kind of idiocy doesn't happen in real life.
Why don't we have personal duels in the movie Cleopatra? Why didn't Mark Antony personally duel Cassius and Brutus? In practice, duels don't happen, only in bad films like Gladiator and The Count of Monte Cristo.
The best adaptation is The prisoner of château D'if (1988). Soviet adaptation with Viktor Avilov.
The director even left his wife to marry the actress who plays Haydee.

@@GaiusJuliusCaesar-dx9nl Your opinion. Thanks for sharing
Hollywood has ran out of material ‼️
The problem with the movie is the same as with the film adaptation of "The Three Musketeers." The ending and the plot are known. There have been many adaptations of Alexander Duma's books. Books are often read at school. We need new great authors. There is no good movie without a good story.🐎⚓⚔💘🪙
But the latest adaptations were ridiculous.
