- President Dr Lazarus Chakwera is today attending an interdenominational National Day of Prayer, currently underway at Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe.
The prayers are being held to thank God for the victories the country has registered and also to ask for help with the other challenges that the nation is facing.
One of the preachers at the event, Malawi Seventh Day Adventist President, Tony Yoramu Nyirenda, has asked Malawians to come back to God through repentance for the country to enjoy God's favours.
Chakwera read the Bible from the Book of Judges 6 verses 31 to 34, from which Nyirenda delivered his sermon.
The event has been organised around the theme ''Malawi Be Strong and Take Heart: God Is Our Refuge and Fortress''

@@joshualumbe6509 don't be deceived, telling you the truth u can't lead the country (Malawi) with the power of God because before becoming a president u need to lie to meet political environment. If he wants to serve God in truth he must step down and leave for the people who believe in lie's. According the way I have explained to you, ur saying nothing. I have not to believe each and every person just because he has mentioned God words no, people are using God words to achieve their agenda, in this case I can't believe chakwera standing on the pew telling me to seek God when the other dark side he serve the devil no!
Useless and unnecessary preaching at a political rally. Is this what Chakweras Presidency is bringing to Malawians who have needs that needs emergency government interventions while Chakwera is sleeping on the job .The country needs working hard in all fronts not praying. Prayers only don't bring development its hardworking that brings economic consequences.
