I actually have one these, and it’s definitely a must have for any Luthier. I purchased this a couple years ago along with some other useful tools FU-Tone has to offer. I highly recommend this!

I use a paint can opener. Used a Dremel to narrow it to the size of the spring loop. Works perfect.

I made my own years ago by heating a small flathead screwdriver tip until it was glowing. I bent it into a U shape and then quenched it in oil. I’ve used it ever since.

*** Be carefull with it... i should have watched this video first, i put a big gouge in my hand... its very sharp on the end.. 😱

Doesn't work well, this guy is a bodybuilder... I took me 5 minutes of pulling on it, then the spring wont go into the hole it gets stuck because the tension of the spring... you have grab the spring in the middle not at the end.,unless your a really big guy, get needle nose pliers... works everytime and safer.
