This is really guys can't wait to get the new album
Wow, this really took me back about 40 years to singing this song in my elementary school music class! 👻 What a wonderfully haunting version!!!
I read the title and IMMEDIATELY had the song resonating through my head!
You two still have the most beautiful energy together. Its like you feed off one another's performances. 😘
So excited for your new album!! 🖤🧡🖤
This is legitimately one of my favorite Halloween songs. My great granddad was named John, and since our last name is Bone... well, let's just say we enjoyed belting that song around the house.
We love your last name and this story! RIP great grandad John Bone 🖤
@@TheHoundTheFox it probably doesn't help we lived in the house he built and died in, so if he was going to haunt anywhere...
@@kirstinboneokay that is just Epic
I first learned this song in elementary school and the words and tune also stuck with me. Still today. It’s always been interesting to hear and sing from time to time
Uh the vibe perfect for my fall playlist
At 71 I've never heard this song before. But as usual your lovely voices made for a pleasant treat to the ears.
I remember we had to sing this in elementary school and it used to make me so chilled around Halloween. Been forever since I've heard it, but it's a welcome surprise!
Never heard this song before now. Your rendition is beautiful and haunting. Love it.
Incredible, you two can turn any song into a masterpiece.
I've got chills 💀
Thank youuu! That’s always the goal 👻🪦🖤
Awesomely spooky... I guess that's why most ghosts wear sheets.
I was wondering if this was the song. I too have not heard this since I was a young kid. Though I learned it as long white bones with the flesh all gone.
We've seen a few variations of the lyrics online! These are we we knew though 😈🖤
Wow! Love it. 💕 And he's SOOOO good looking .
man this brings me back to my childhood. I had a little book of scary stories and song my grandmother gave me. This was the first song in the book. It's an old but a goody
I have never heard that song and I've been around this old world for 60+ years. But it was very good and a little chilling to hear. My favorite holiday is Halloween and this year I'm not able to decorate because I'll be moving. So thanks for a great video to keep me in the spooky mood. Love your vocals as always. Beautifully done. 💀🥶👻☠🍁🕷
So our theory… we’ll need to do a video about this to get a poll soon… is that in the 90s a bunch of choirs had their kids singing this in elementary school. So random but it seems to be the trend! Even though it’s a really old song.
Thanks for watching! We hope your move goes smoothly and that spookiness surrounds you even without your decorations 👻😂🖤
I remember singing this song as a Halloween warm up in my elementary school music class. It brings back good memories.
Thanks for the spooky. Love the layered vocals.
I LOVE this song soo much I can't stop listening to it❤
Sang this song in elementary school music class! Beautiful rendition❤
This is the only song from my elementary school years that I can remember and is the one that made me realize I can sing.
So, Ms. Rachel brought me here. Totally worth hearing her videos over and over in the background to discover this song, then by extension THIS rendition....so awesome
I love this song
Thank you so much! 😈🖤
Beautiful in its simplicity. Stunning.
I once opened an autumn recital with this one, after the lights had dimmed we underlit our faces with torches and stalked through the audience singing it in 4 part canon 👻
Gorgeous. Haunting. Your voices beautiful as always.
Absolutely beautiful like always you two never disappoint all I have left to say is I’m absolutely obsessed.❤
Thanks to grade school I literally cannot go a year at Halloween without this song popping into my head at random. I saw this on my subs and went 'Oh my sweet cheese and crackers', and had to listen. You do this song such a perfect tribute. Haunting and melodic and perfect to match with your rendition of Hanging Tree.
Thank you so much! It’s quite a haunting song for grade schoolers yet we all loved it 👻🖤 or we are just in good company 🎃
Chilling, but in a good way 🙂. Thanks 😊 I always enjoy and appreciate your music.
Aaah nostalgia back to elementary school days, sitting in music class - not something I'm generally nostalgic for. XD You guys did an amazing job with it though, both song and video-wise!
Beautiful ❤🎶
Was in elementary school in the 90s and never hears this song til today!
OK, this one is giving me full-body chills. Amazing!
I’ve always wanted to hear a rendition of this song that I could put on a playlist. This song probably played a big role in my love of ethereal sad songs when I was a kid. We sang it every year at Halloween in elementary school in the early 90s. Thanks for the hit of nostalgia!
Aw thank you so much! We both sang this in school too and absolutely loved it! It was time to bring it full circle 👻🖤
i remember this song from elementary school. your rendition is hauntingly beautiful
My choir in middle school did this song and the Latin version as well it's so good to hear it again
Another Amazing Performance Of The Hound + The Fox
Love it!!!! ❤️ you 2 are so amazing 👏 😍
I have to say this the best version of the song I've ever heard. 🖤
I'm so glad this song is getting some love! Always a favorite sung in elementary school in a round. I once read it might be an old English folk song. Anyone who's interested can also check out Kristen Lawrence's 2005 versions; she wrote 4 more verses, which are awesome. I prefer the "bare bones" version myself. It's still one of my fave haunting melodies for Halloween!
When I heard this come up on Pandora while my buddies and I were driving on a dark and stormy night (I swear, clichéd though it is, that’s true) I had a flashback to being a little kid.
I was probably 5 or 6, sitting on my grandpa’s lap as we carved a pumpkin, and he was singing this song, teaching it to me.
I had forgotten that memory completely as well as this song until I heard your version.
So, yeah, thanks.
My school was way out in the sticks and 60 some years ago for grade school-😮, this is my first time hearing this song. Your arrangement and singing was spot on as always. I am so thankful y'all like music and want to share it with us!😊❤❤
I see people saying that they remember this song from grade school in the ‘90s… We definitely sang this in my elementary school in the 1960’s! I heard it in my head as soon as I saw the title. This is a really lovely version, elegantly creepy! 🕸 I love your music.
i love you guys so much ❤❤❤❤❤ I could listen to you all day long 😻
Haunting...great vocals and way creepy visuals
Had me with the first second. This is breathtaking!

Beautiful! Used to sing this as a kid!
I haven't heard this song since fourth grade (40 years ago).
Did we refresh your memory of it? 😈🖤
@@TheHoundTheFox
Y'all sound much better than a class of fourth graders! Y'all knocked it out of the park, as usual!
Never heard this song before, but great singing as always ya both!

I remember singing this in grade school, so long ago. You two are amazing! 🦴
It was so refreshing to hear your unique spin on this classic. I adore Halloween and as a child I was lucky to have learned this gem in 3rd grade. I grew up inspired by great music teachers when I was in elementary and high school and took piano lessons. I'm now able to play all these folk favorites. Please keep up the great work in keeping these tunes alive with your beautiful voices. 👻🎵
Love your guys style.
You guys should do The Sawn Princess: Far longer then forever.
I think you'd rock that one.
Thank you for a song I've never heard and I'm 50 something, that is really spooky cool. 👻 keep up with your music please because it is awesome!

I remember singing this is elementary school in 3 part rounds!!!!
Cannot wait for this one
First time hearing this song, sounds pretty good.
I hid under my chair when the music teacher played this song.
Can't wait for the new album to arrive!!
We did this song in rounds as a warm up in my college acapella group a lot!
i literally need of the instrumental to remake "have you seen the herobrine" but the music is so good
So excited for this!!!!
I recognize this song. I haven't heard it since I was in grade school, forty years ago.

Thank you so much! 😈🖤
@@TheHoundTheFox You have great voices and your work is very sensual. Greetings from Bulgaria
oh my goodness nostalgia has been unlocked for sure! i remember singing this during morning warmups in along with ah poor bird and rose rose, ive been trying to remember how it went, this is art!
Hell yea this is sp beautiful awesome 👌
Never thought I'd hear a version of this song that I didn't immediately dislike. Thank you for proving me wrong: yet another masterpiece, absolutely love it!
I know this one! I sung this in a school choir once during Halloween, specifically "Wouldn't it be chilly with no skin on?"
I remember being scared of that one song warm-up song that we often paired it with.
it went like
"Habt ihr gehört von dem Mord im Schloss?" (Have you heard of the castle murder?)
"Wo das Blut in Strömen die Treppe runter floss" (Where the blood went down stairs in floods)
Der Kopf ist ab, der Kopf ist ab, der. Kopf. ist. AB! *KRGH* (The head is off, the head is off, the. Head. Is. OFF! KRGH! [immitating bones breaking])
Me and my sis didn't like that one because we both have a very vivid fantasy and couldn't help but picture it in our heads.
So whenever they sung it, we got to leave the room so we wouldn't cry, students either tried to cheer us up by saying "The head is a pumpkin! The blood is just juice!" and then there those who sung it from the top of their lungs when Halloween came around.
We sung this song in the early 90’s at school! Back when school’s allowed costumes etc! Awesome cover!
Beautifully haunting ☺️‼️
Thank you! 👻
Oh wow this opened a door from elementary school I didn’t remember well! It had a story along with it but I can’t remember exactly what it was.
What a great song sung so beautifully! How privileged and lucky you must be to have two people who form a couple, whose voices are so beautiful and match so well. Both so talented and so wonderful. Really this sounds amazing
I did chorus last year i learned a more high pitched singing version on the “oooooooo”
This has always been one of our favorite Halloween songs, love this version ❤
I LOVE all yall's Halloween stuff!! I have a whole playlist of it and its on repeat over here. So beautiful yall!!
I remember this song from grade school choir
I've never heard this before, but it's haunting, tragically beautiful. I love it!

I never heard this song but I’m so glad to hear it I love it ❤
❤❤❤❤❤
I remember singing this song and will still break it out around Halloween, usually with some dark comic irony. This is a hauntingly beautiful take on this song!
We were curious how the Johns of the world feel about this song 😂👻 Glad to hear you make the most of it! Thank you 🖤
cannot get enough of this 🧡 absolutely haunting and beautiful! your halloween songs always set the perfect tone for my halloween season! thank you for this beautiful rendition!
I've never heard of this song before
Never heard of the song, but I love it! Beautiful voices!
Hauntingly beautiful vocals. I love how the scenery in your videos always seem so simple and fit the songs perfectly.
Thank you Tammy!
Hot dang, I haven't heard this song since the second grade! Albeit, my teacher's version was a lot happier sounding. I's really cool to hear a more dramatic and professional rendition.
I've never heard this song before and was glad to know a new thing from American Halloween culture. Thanks a lot for this beautiful performance!
This makes me think of elementary school music class during Halloween. We'd have a cupcake walk after out costume parade through the school.
Why was this ALL of our experience 😅?! At least in the US in the 90s it seems.
I was already wondering, could it be? And yesss, a song I used to sing when I was still part of a choir some years back. I really love how you bith gave this song a spooky touch-up and own vibe 😊💖
I don't remember hearing this before. It is an ear worm for sure. It sounded hauntingly beautiful!
Thank you Judy! Glad it’s a fun one even if you haven’t heard it yet. 👻🖤
Наконец новый выпуск. Класс.
I totally forgot about this song until I listened to your version. I do remember singing this in music class in the 90's. Loved your version as always! 🎃🖤🧡🖤🎃
I’m kinda mad that this sounds so spookily beautiful... ‘cause the lyrics are so dang creepy. 😂
INCREDIBLE GREATEST ARTIST EVER 🖤🧡🖤
Halloween season starts September 1st at our house. Y’all have given us some of our favorite holiday melodies. ❤
I'd love to hear your version of song of the sea
