These videos are great fun, learning about the different aspects of passing trains. The second diesel in the train for switching when the train is broken up is an interesting concept. Thank you Gregg!
Thanks Bob! Glad you enjoy them and I appreciate the support! The local railfans know more about the mid train loco and how it's used ,but it goes to a small dock I think and is used to switch the cars there? Cheers Gregg.
Thanks for the video. I see some prime real estate. Those home owners probably don't know how lucky they are to be living next to the rail line. But we know!
Interesting how they detect any flat spots, I saw on the UP main this year a camera and some other devices by North Platte to detect issues. The eastbound train with the locomotive in the middle reminds me of the railroads of North America. Hopefully PSR will not happen down under. Great video Gregg, hope all is going well with you, have a great Spring. Cheers from Terry in mild and dry Nebraska
It's old school stuff Terry , just microphones that pick up different frequencies ?? There are sensors on the track but I don't know what they are for as we don't have them on the railway I work for. Our trains aren't big enough for PSR Terry..LOL. Enjoy spring and thanks for watching. Cheers Gregg.
Thank you ! This location is on "Bogaduck" rd Heathfield. No I haven't heard of the trak work , but I have been wondering why they have ben using the loop? What's the scoop man? 🙂 Cheers Gregg.
@@FishplateFilms cheers Gregg, due to karkoo occupying the station now, I’ve been told by a pretty good source that the loop is now the main line at karkoos request.
@@Aussie_Transport5371 As a signal guy , I can assure you that the public do not say what track to use ! However , if the new tenants have not fully addressed the public safety at the platform, ARTC may be diverting trains to the loop until the WHOS issue is sorted out. Only guessing of course and it may also be a signalling issue as well? Cheers Gregg.
Greg. ----- At TS 2:47 there was a... combination passenger car? If it is that. Was it crew quarters for on-the-fly crew change for trips that are cross continent? ------ BTW. Nice catch with the detector window.
Hi Colin, you are correct sir! The crew car is for drivers and is mainly used when they cross the Nullarbor Plain, from Adelaide to Perth....there's nothing out there but dirt ..LOL. Thanks for watching. Gregg.
Thanks Ronald! We don't have the variety of freight cars like the US unfortunately! Also , the axle weights are lower down here, so the cars carry less which is why we can't have articulated well cars for double stacks. Cheers Gregg.
Thank you for sharing. Nice.👍
Great video Gregg, those trains certainly make a racket going through the hills!

Thanks for watching! Yes , I was very lucky to get my block and look forward to living there.

What’s the exact “pin” or “coordinates” for this location? Very nice video, have you heard about the new track alignment at Mount lofty?

@@FishplateFilmsHeard there’s a broken rail on the main, not sure why it hasn’t been fixed yet

@@Rhys4AUFC Thats what I heard Rhys...we fix broken rail the same day , so I don't think it s that.
Someone will find out ?

Awesome! Do ours transmit by radio to the crew like US defect detectors? Or is it more of a centrally monitored type of thing?
