    Welcome home Justin Edwards. This season is going to bananas in Philly. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

      Philly has the chance to get really high value from Edwards. Had top 5 buzz, including from myself, before his freshman season. There's talent there. Needs to find his NBA role.

    Good numbers at today's Draft Combine. 14 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists in 24 minutes. 2/5 in three pointers.

    It's nice to see someone doing a scouting reports on Edwards. In two years , this guy could be a budding young star in the NBA.
    We need projection in scouting not criticism of the production of teenagers but what they can be given their skill sets.

    Would love to see Isaiah Collier, wild to see in the preseason he was 1st point guard (some first overall) off the board to just keep sliding, similar to a lot of players like Edwards. Also would like to hear who you’re particularly keen on in this draft class. There aren’t really any players I really love, everyone seems to have potentially high highs but also major flaws that could be exposed. Thanks for your hard work and great content💯

      I'm gonna have a video on Collier real soon! Appreciate your constant support!
      A random list of guys who aren't talked about as much that I'm higher on than most (or at least it seems that way to me): Ryan Dunn (I have him close to the lottery), Bronny James (would be a lock first rounder for me), Kyshawn George, KJ Simpson, Melvin Ajinça, Antonio Reeves, Trentyn Flowers, and Pacome Dadiet.

      (Btw, the ONLY thing he has going for him is his surname...period. He's not even good enough to be a G-league walk-on. Any NBA team will only draft him for his surname and marketing hype...nothing tangible, only superficial).

    One more thing, look at the missed scouting of GG Jackson. Remember the scouts who messed up on Giannis?

    I'm sorry to say it, but I see little future for Justin Edwards in the NBA.
    His best weapon is his mid-range shooting, but little else. He's not a good defender, he doesn't have a good three point shot and it's better not to let him handle the ball because he's going to lose it.
    He is also a type of player that is difficult to fit in today's NBA, I think of players with similar characteristics chosen in recent drafts (Jessup, J. Davis, Boston Jr.) and the little success they have had.
    Possibly a couple of years to try in the NBA and then he will go play in other leagues.

    • @FloorandCeiling
      @FloorandCeiling  2 місяці тому +2

      He's going to get a chance in the league. Once he's in the NBA, it's on him to prove that he can excel at something - whatever it is - that will allow him to carve out a spot in the league for years to come.

    • @Thatbul
      @Thatbul 2 місяці тому +3

      It depends on what team he gets drafted to. If he gets drafted to a team where they will give him time to develop he can be really good. Guys like Brandon Boston are on teams that are in win now mode so it’s hard to crack through. Justin reminds me a lot of Peyton Watson when he was coming out of college. Justin needs to improve his motor and learn how to do the little things first. A lot of times in Kentucky, John had him guarding the best player in the last few minutes and he did really good.

      @@FloorandCeiling true. I watched most of the Kentucky games and followed some of the talking heads. I always liked Justin but it was a bit obvious that he needs time to mature on all fronts. There was talk of feeling pressure to be a one and done player in order to financially support his family and his teammates were clearly outshining him so it created tensions and anxiety that was counter productive. The fans got on him and it was clearly weighing heavy since many felt he should be benched

    • @pigspigs76

      @@FloorandCeiling end of the 1st would make sense but nba are so speculative he could get pushed up a bit given I think his ceiling is very high. He needs less of a media spot light and lots of time on task in order to get his game together .. but I suspect he could become something like an Anthony Edwards once he puts on man muscle and confidence.
      The biggest thing for someone like him is finding solid coaching and mentors to help guide the development process, Kyle Lowry would be ideal

    • @knight6
      @knight6 12 днів тому +2

      @pigspigs76 Sixers signed Edwards on a 2 way contract. If the Sixers re sign Lowry, Lowry can be that mentor for him. He might spend some time with the Delaware Blue Coats, the Sixers G League Affiliate, but the Sixers could sign him to the main roster if he can develop. Sixers can be a good wing rotation piece.

Hope it works out for him ✨

    His lack of right hand handles seems to be a bigger problem than his 3pt shooting.

    • @FloorandCeiling
      @FloorandCeiling  2 місяці тому +3

      I agree, it's by far his biggest issue. If his handle was tighter and more creative, then maybe it wouldn't be so absurdly obvious. After all, there are plenty of players who almost always go to their right.
      In general, I prefer when he doesn't have to put the ball on the floor. Either spot-up and shoot from three, move and finish, or take one/two dribbles max into a pull-up.

    He was underwhelming early because his coach was Calipari. He has a tendency to undervalue and suppress the talents of talented players. I like Edwards and think he will surprise many in the pros.

      What do you think Calipari did wrong with Edwards specifically? If anything, especially early on in the year, it could easily be argued that he was getting too much run. Even when he wasn't producing, Calipari kept his faith in him and kept his minutes high.
