What kind of games are you playing? It's true that the classic games have better music but I'm sure there are some new games out there right now with decent soundtracks.
@@DreamerFromTheDepths I can only remember few memorable soundtrack these days. Even Tekken 7's music ain't that good and pales in comparison to the OST of first 4 games. Games back then had to rely on ambience, symbolism and characterization because of hardware limitations. It pushed developers to be at their best. Now that Tekken is at the top of the food chain, I feel that Namco became complacent and ignored aspects of what made Tekken great aside from mechanics.
It's because people back then had talent and people would take notice. Look at the music and movies from the 90s and compare it to the crap we have today.
