Thank you! It's very true, we will be re-remembering things for a long time. It seems like such a surreal dream right now. Making the videos was an effort, but I'm glad I did because it really helps fill in the blur of my own memories. Thanks for watching, and Buen Camino!
Loved all your big smiles! It's really contagious. Even in the rain, your videos were excellent! We arrived in the rain, too. Dave and Peta were waiting for us in the rain at the cathedral. They walked 41km to reach the cathedral the day before we left O'Pedrouzo. 😮 Amazing!
Thanks as always. It was a very memorable day that I'm sure we'll all never forget. You may recognize some people in the photos of the next video. 😉 Buen Camino!
Thank you to you both, very much, for 41 of the most enjoyable, entertaining, informative and useful videos on the Camino. My wife and I will miss your daily posts but we'll be doing our own Camino, using a lot of what we learnt from you, in a couple of weeks. Take care, and thank you again.
So glad you enjoyed the videos and found them useful. How exciting that you are about to start your own Camino. Have a wonderful journey, and don't forget the bandaids. 😄 All the best, and Buen Camino!
Congratulations! Both of you father and daughter deserve much respect and much appreciation for not just a job well-done but for enjoying your walk in harmony together. Also, very cool that you were able to take picture of the Pilgrims' Office as it is highly unauthorized. With this video, I can show my kids and friends when I was a volunteer at the Pilgims' Office. I am the gray-haired guy to the left of the guy in blue shirt. It was a privilege working there for fellow pilgrims. Thank you. Buen Camino!
Thank you very much! I didn't realize it is forbidden to take photos inside the Pilgrims' Office. Oops. It was such a lovely place, with very friendly people. At least now you can show your kids and friends. 😀 Buen Camino!
Yes! Many passionate arguments resulted from the rule. Many other sneaky ones surreptitiously video recorded the processing and issuance of their Compostelas. Cannot blame them for creating a memory marker for posterity after achieving a dream come true. Thank you. Again, congratulations on a job well-done! Buen Camino.
Wow, congratulations! I was very excited the moment you stepped past that alleyway into the great square. Such an achievement. I do hope you go to the ends of the earth - it's less than 100km away. Just think, you could bathe your feet in the ocean, go for a swim. You have inspired me to complete my great trek today. I was going to end it next Tuesday, the day before I begin the process of dealing with cancer. It's been a five-year hike. I have been writing a history of the Beatles through the lens of their lyrics. This first book of three will be the one with the most new information (nobody has ever published an adequate analysis of their lyrics, everybody thinks their early lyrics are meaningless). I only have to complete I'm A Loser and deal with two minor cover songs, Mr. Moonlight and Leave My Kitten Alone, and I am done. Tonight I will be going out into my own imaginary square in front of my own imaginary cathedral and looking forward to my next two books, and then two more radical books I have planned dealing with very different topics. It's a big day for me.
Hi gumbycat, first let me day that I'm so sorry to hear that your are dealing with cancer. That totally sucks, and we send positive thoughts your way. Second, how cool that you are writing those books! I am a bit of a Beatles fan myself. We have visited Abbey Road twice, and also the site where they last performed in public at 3 Savile Row, London. In fact when I first got a GoPro for the Camino I practiced with it during a trip to London, and you can see Abbey Road at around the 5:28 mark of video #2. ua-cam.com/video/yQ0bWlSzQYQ/v-deo.htmlsi=nVwSuUiqy5Kr6F0F However it sounds like you know the Beatles at least a couple orders of magnitude better than I do. I will be interested to check out your books when you are done. Until then all the best with your writing and your health. Take care, and Buen Camino!
@@EagerFeetFamily Thanks for your kind words. Yes it sucks. Next week I am having a tricky biopsy and the treatment proper will probably kick in a week later. I will also be starting the process of finding a UK literary agent, because I would like a global publishing house with UK focus for my book and also so I can become a public speaker. This is my first big retirement project. I have a PHD in History on the Beatles that was published as Magic Circles many years ago. This new one is called The Beatles and Their Lyrics, in 3 volumes. I have spent 5 years doing Vol 1 up to their North American tour of Fall 1964 and have completed detailed research for Vol 2 to Feb 1968. The two other volumes may take 3 years each.
Hello B! Congratulations on your completion! What a way to start the day, rain and mud! That airport fence sure is memorable to me as well. The Church at 3:25 was also memorable, we stopped there to wait for our other walkers. At 4:09, that road had a small market, with lots of souvenirs. At 4:34, there was a hill there that actually had a great vantage point of the City. I am upset that the Camino markers were stolen by some people, thats just poor behavior. The rain felt like the Camino was crying because you were about to complete it. And then finally, the bagpipes at 7:42! Wow congratulations!!! The Sunset shot at 12:04 was beautiful, I was not able to get that, thank you for sharing. You going all the way to Finnistere? Cool! More videos!!
Thanks as always. The rain and fog was a challenge, but it also made the day memorable. Wish we had the views of the city when approaching, but it was so overcast that we couldn't see much. And I wish we had some pictures where I didn't look like a Pillsbury dough boy popping out of his jacket, but I was balancing staying dry with trying not to sweat too much. On to Finisterre soon. 🙂 Thanks for watching, and Buen Camino.
What an incredible achievement!! You will be unpacking memories for years!
