Awesome tutorial! Been growing my beard for 5 months now from the last trim, and so far it's the grooming, taming and styling that do take a lot of work.

Good segment! I have been going through different brushes for almost two years! I purchased a really good paddle brush from Mad Viking about a month ago and started using to style my beard last week. It dramatically cut down on styling time. However, I still use a beard straightener on low setting when I’m done with the blow dryer, then I do the cold set afterwards. It has made a big difference in how my beard looks. I’ve had to dial back on the heat settings on the blow dryer and the brush because I have a predominantly all-white beard, but it’s not getting discolored anymore because of the heat setting.

Interesting, I’ve never tried a brush like that. The hair dryer is certainly my tool of choice most of the time. Great tutorial! 👍🏻

Great video 👍🏼 I've been using a hot brush that's started to make my beard dip in on my chin but since trying this method it's done wonders and much quicker! Thanks

i pretty much style the same way, only using a comb. love artius man humidor. maybe when i run out, i'll wait for one of their many bogo beard oil sales and pick up 3 wood. it's one of the few i haven't tried from them but have been curious about

I really appreciate the demonstration of how you care for your beard after a shower. It's kind of similar to the routine that I do, but I'm missing the paddle brush. That is a nice touch and I'm going to have to give that a try. As always your beard is dialed in and looking great.

@@GregBoswell428 Started using a paddle brush a couple of weeks ago and, boy!, is it a game changer. It gives the exact right amount of pull -- enough to straighten the hairs, but not enough to pull them out. I saw your video also about the Mad Viking paddle brush, but for me, the extra $10 wouldn't be worth it since this one does a perfect job for me. Besides my fingers and hands, I use a large-tooth comb and a round boar's hair brush to spread the beard oil. Thanks again for making the video!

Also using sea salt spray will help achieve some “tug” when trying to straighten your beard. That’s why l always oil last.

Looks so much better when you have it natural. But then again my opinion doesn't matter. Just a thought. (No blow dryer) 😍

  • @akwiredtaste

When I've tried a barrel brush and I twirl it, it gets stuck in my beard and I cant release it. One time, I actually had to chop it out of my beard with scissors. In fact, I've never managed to successfully straighten (or even vaguely tame) my beard with any type of brush/hairdryer combo.
I predict that in a few thousand years time - lets say the 27th century - futuristic humans are going to unearth the UA-cam main data storage center, and they'll stumble upon your videos, and they'll laud you as Gregus Boswellium, Beard God of the 21st century.
