Turn on "developer mode" in the main menu. When you fly, in the top left screen you can enter "slew mode". Or press "y" to toggle in and out of "slew mode". Use the num pad to move and "F5-F8" to change altitude. Turn "crash mode" off. Use reverse thrust too. I love landing 747's on short runways.
Happens a lot, when you plan you know you heading, speed and distance. So you follow the plan and you know you're at the correct location but might be slightly off sometimes. And then you just look down and it's directly below you

If you want to do a highspeed climb in Germany you have to take off from the Autobahn, where speed is not regulated. Please remember not to overtake someone else on the right lane, because that's illegal in Germany. Overtaking is only allowed on the left side. Not only for road safety reasons, but also because it's an important political statement. We tend to impede everything on the right side. Better safe than sorry (again).

Some 30 years, I was an expert at crashing into the Sears Tower, from Meigs Field, in a Cessna 182... sir, you could be proud of your crashes, has ever crash helped the safety of Microsoft Flight Simulator pilots.
When he hit the mountain the plane was going 130 knots which is very slow for a 747 on approach , and after the plane hit the mountain it was going 111 knots so the plane stalled and crashed into the water.
@@migga86 If I recall it correctly the main issues weren’t the unasked-for gardening job, but the excessive width of the plane and the failure to select the proper airfield for the plane size or informing the tower in time about the upcoming issues
You can press “y” on the keyboard and that will put the sim into what’s called “slew mode”. You can then use the assigned keys (check the controls menu) to move the aircraft around without having to fly it. Hope that helps!
Kelsey, man you are fricken HILARIOUS on some of these simulator videos. When it says you crashed, but your response is, "There is NO WAY that was a crash!" I crack up every time. As an amateur race driver, I have had similar encounters with video driving games. "There is NO WAY 'X" move caused a crash," "Real cars don't respond like this," etc. I have every degree of faith in you when you find the video game is far more unforgiving than real life...and even when the video games are completely unrealistic. I feel your pain, man. Makes one wonder, "Why did they program it to do this? That's not what really happens." Oh well, thanks for the informative videos you post and for these videos, which keep me laughing at your frustrations with unrealistic game scenarios.

You can disable the crashes by turning on dev mode, you can also get closer to the airport by using slew mode by pressing “y” on your keyboard or whatever u have binded and using num 8 or whatever u have binded to go foward

Dear Kelsey, as an aircraft enthusiast i really enjoy your videos, because there is very much to learn from and its moslty funny to watch. In this video you said, that in germany they would never let you do a high speed climb. Unfortuantly, thats true. The cause is, that our airspace is very small and we have some highly frequented airspaces like Frankfurt am Main (80 km south of my home) or Hamburg or Munich. Also our Military Pilots are very handicaped by this small airspace and the german reglementations. I know the times when i was young, we didn´t have these reglementations here. When i was a child i could see Tornado jets doing low-level passes directly above our garden. Sometimes i was sitting on the upside of our swing, looking up to them and sometimes it felt like they were within reach, even if they were 100 meters above me. I really miss that time today, it was the time when my love for aircrafts where born. Back in these days, our airspace wasn´t that highly frequented than these times. The last years, especially our german fighter pilots were very happy to do a big part of their flight school in america and sometimes in wales flying the mach loop. But today, this training is canceled because it has been to expensive for our government. Now they had to train above the east or north sea. My kids and I listen to the same music (they like the old stuff and I can tolerate some of the new stuff) but we just don't understand the whole game watching thing like my parents didn't get our music.. It is true that I like Kelsie anyway so I watch most of his videos nad he is a real pilot. Maybe i would understand if my kids were watching a real soldier play Fortnite. 😂 I also love the new Flight Simulator. I suck at it but I it is a blast even if I crash half the time.

Hey Kelsey! I am a commercial aviation student at DSU, a primary 141 flight school for the south east. My friends and I (some newbies, some working on their CFII) have tried to launch a 747 in Microsoft flight sim 2020 from our native airport, KRNV. We have managed to launch, but flying the pattern and landing is a bit more difficult. I would love to see you try to land at that port since its home to quite a few aviators from the southeast! Ironically, someone who never flew before got the closest, so I think it would be a fun exercise to see what a person who is familiar with the aircraft could do. Keep in mind we were doing it from the first person perspective XD
I think I know why the Germans don't like high speed climbs. When I was in the military stationed in Germany in 1964 - 1967 I flew on Lufthansa a few times. I think most of their pilots were former Luftwaffe pilots. When I came back to the states in 1965 on leave, I flew a 707 out of Frankfort. Those guys were climbing right after takeoff like someone was firing SAMS at the plane. I thought they were showing off, but a while later I took another flight from Frankfort to Paris on a 727. I think that was the pilot's favorite plane because they climbed so steeply the cabin crew couldn't move about until they reached cruising altitude. The last flight I took before returning home was to London on a 737-100. Those old cigar engines. I didn't know it then, but Lufthansa was the first airline to launch a Boeing airliner , and was the first foreign launch of a Boeing product.
Okay so there's a couple things I can give you as tips: You can turn off crash fysics in the "assistant" settings (all of them), even engine and aircraft stress because all it does is show a black screen What you can also do to get to the island faster, there are two ways to make it faster: Speed up time: press "R, CONTROL, and + key on numpad Slew mode: press "Y" on keyboard, and then turn the numpad on and play around with the arrows on the numpad, you'll see what it does
He could also edit the fuel load and weight, default is around half of max takeoff weight with 50% fuel load. Next time he should try it with a sport 747 with no payload and 25% fuel.

Germany is very strict on noise levels. But back when I was in the Mil, we used to request high speed below 10 all the time. They’d usually let us without any static.
It is always fun to try and land in crazy paces or ways in sim. Had a few I wish I was recording myself. My cousin and I use to land P38s on skyscrapers in this sim my grandpa had setup. Even had a take off save in GTA from a roof takeoff. The back wheels caught on a ledge putting me in a dive if I pulled up I would have crashed so I used rudder until I could roll over.
Kelsey... you know the rule. If you run a 747-800 into the trees you will be lucky to just talk to the head pilot. It will often be a final visit to HR.
One way to get closer is you can increase the game speed by using "+" to make the game run x2 or x4 fast until you're closer and then slow it back to x1 using "-"

Additionally, in "Failure & Damage" you can disable various crash conditions.

Hey Kelsey! I am a commercial aviation student at DSU, a primary 141 flight school for the south east. My friends and I (some newbies, some working on their CFII) have tried to launch a 747 in Microsoft flight sim 2020 from our native airport, KRNV. We have managed to launch, but flying the pattern and landing is a bit more difficult. I would love to see you try to land at that port since its home to quite a few aviators from the southeast! Ironically, someone who never flew before got the closest, so I think it would be a fun exercise to see what a person who is familiar with the aircraft could do. Keep in mind we were doing it from the first person perspective XD

I think I know why the Germans don't like high speed climbs. When I was in the military stationed in Germany in 1964 - 1967 I flew on Lufthansa a few times. I think most of their pilots were former Luftwaffe pilots. When I came back to the states in 1965 on leave, I flew a 707 out of Frankfort. Those guys were climbing right after takeoff like someone was firing SAMS at the plane. I thought they were showing off, but a while later I took another flight from Frankfort to Paris on a 727. I think that was the pilot's favorite plane because they climbed
so steeply the cabin crew couldn't move about until they reached cruising altitude. The last flight I took before returning home was to London on a 737-100. Those old cigar engines. I didn't know it then, but Lufthansa was the first airline to launch a Boeing airliner , and was the first foreign launch of a Boeing product.
You should try MSFSim in VR, As a pilot myself, VR is the best way to sim outside of a real full mockup. Love the channel! Keep it up :)

Okay so there's a couple things I can give you as tips:
You can turn off crash fysics in the "assistant" settings (all of them), even engine and aircraft stress because all it does is show a black screen
What you can also do to get to the island faster, there are two ways to make it faster:
Speed up time: press "R, CONTROL, and + key on numpad
Slew mode: press "Y" on keyboard, and then turn the numpad on and play around with the arrows on the numpad, you'll see what it does
I freaking love how I am guessing the plane brushed on like the tip of the tallest tree on that hill and the game is like 'nope' 😂😂😂

You can Turn off the "YOU CRASH" on Assistant
He could also edit the fuel load and weight, default is around half of max takeoff weight with 50% fuel load.
Next time he should try it with a sport 747 with no payload and 25% fuel.
When you crashed into the mountain you didn't see it was in fact a mid-air collision with a colibri humming above the trees.
Imagine the convo in the real flight deck: “hey what you been up to?”
“Totalling a 74 into st Barts all afternoon”
“”Oh”

Germany is very strict on noise levels. But back when I was in the Mil, we used to request high speed below 10 all the time. They’d usually let us without any static.
It is always fun to try and land in crazy paces or ways in sim. Had a few I wish I was recording myself. My cousin and I use to land P38s on skyscrapers in this sim my grandpa had setup. Even had a take off save in GTA from a roof takeoff. The back wheels caught on a ledge putting me in a dive if I pulled up I would have crashed so I used rudder until I could roll over.
I've crashed just sitting on the runway with high winds and it makes the plane bounce just a little and says it crashed. lol

There are no yachts allowed in Baie St. Jean. Partially because of the airport and also on a dangerous lee shore with 20 to 30 knot winds

Kelsey... you know the rule. If you run a 747-800 into the trees you will be lucky to just talk to the head pilot. It will often be a final visit to HR.

One way to get closer is you can increase the game speed by using "+" to make the game run x2 or x4 fast until you're closer and then slow it back to x1 using "-"
