I can still remember when these kind of landings we attempted under FS9 with add-on airport. There was a trick with the planes' config files (under FS9 at least) that allowed for sharper braking and superior engine inversion thrust power. We abused of that cheat shamelessly to succeed.
i was thinking exactly the same when you were on your approach in the AN-225 about the people in the houses having that thing fly above them by about 40 feet lmao!
You would think that they would cut down that last tall tree right before the runway. And that's only half the challenge....try taking back off in the big jets
Pretty much every video I have watched so far you land the Antonov the smoothest :D Thanks to your videos I am now willing to dive into the world of flight simulator. Can you play with a keyboard and is it as fun as... I don't what else you can use to play this?
It's very difficult with mouse and keyboard. I would recommend a flight stick (for example from Thrustmaster, I think they start from $50) or you could also play it with a controller. But I would buy a flightstick.
Hey bro if you want to land big planes at a small runway follow these steps 1. Land at the very end of the runway your wheels should almost touch naked ground 2. Apply break as hard as you can 3. Your plane will come to a halt at the very end of the runway
Absolute tosh. I worked in the Caribbean for 30 years, and flew in and out of St Barths many times. Got pretty close to running off the end a few times when the plane was over the weight limit, and definitely no landing/take off during darkness. Could be a bit of a white knuckle ride at times, but always made it safely. Take off and landing close to the nearby island of Saba, now that's a harum scarum ride. Google it for youtube vids.Enjoy the ride.
Wow , it would be so fantastic too see one of the bigger machines landed there , evevn if it was an Emergency Landing . The Pictures would go around the World....
I think most planes are expcted to land "the other way"... as there's no turn off the way you went most of the time. Those turnoffs are way to close when you come from the other side and you could barely make them even w/ the smaller planes.
No, it's actually correct to land on RW 10 coming over the hill. That way you have the ability to go around, which, if you'd land on RW 28, would not be possible for most planes allowed there. Also, as John said, there's a small patch to turn at the end, to the left.
Not convinced that these braking distances really reflect what would happen in reality. Stopping an An-225 in 200 meters does not seem very realistic to me.
I wondered that myself. Since this is a sim, he was able to fly those jetliners at 0,x % fuel and with only the pilots weight (usually, on the AN-225 there are six or seven people on board during flight), so there's a significant difference in weight. Considering that the AN-225 is rated for 3500 feet (1067 meters) of runway for landing and st barths runway actually is 2119 ft (646 meters), it "might" just be possible with the right weather conditions. But noone would've ever tried this IRL, so...
Now, for a 747 i googled this quora response from Mark Hilsen, which suggests that the planes bare minimum stopping distance could be as low as 1920 feet, which is just short of those 2119 feet St Barth has to offer. Impressive! And he suggests that, with the right conditions, it could be even shorter. qr.ae/pvoYkx
RIP the AN-225

Him: we may have cut down some trees.
The squirrels: I declare a war
The "don't sink" callout for 747 landing got whole another meaning :D
Plane: DONT SINK DONT SINK
Him: SHUT UP I AM TRYING TO LAND 😂
Really liking the idea of a landing big planes at small/dangerous airports series. Keep it up :)
Next one probably Courchevel 👀
+1 !!
swiss001 been doing it since the xplane days, you can go check him out, however this guys concept is cleaner and more polished

Rest in peace AN-225.
To think, not even 20 days after this was published, Mriya, was gone...
RIP An 225 and the trees that it hit.
AN225 was such a great landing
Meanwhile, the ground crews are like "...the hell are we supposed to do with that?!"
“Don’t sink. Don’t sink. Don’t sink….”
That’s really good advice.
That Cessna citation landing had more butter than my bread
The 747 going dowm smooth like butter
Rest in Peace. Mriya. 😔
2:11 that STOLL
I’m going back in to work now
That AN-225 now has to be stripped to parts in order to get of there lmao
Yesssss! I think i requested this on your other videos! Love it
I came in the way you took the an 225. Right over the houses and bay. It was in this funny tiny rattly aircraft! I was on holiday.
That tree really needs cutting down at the top of the hill 😂
That A320neo landing at 6:30 was perfect!
Rest in peace Mriya
That was fun to watch. I thought the AN225 was going to go seriously pear shaped, but, like many of them, was a butter landing 👌
Great series you have going. Keep up the great work 👍🏼
the sad part here is, that we won´t see the AN-225 landing anywhere again...RIP...but great skills and a nice video!
I'm pretty sure we will. The Mrija was ukraines pride possession and there's still the unfinished second 225 sitting in Kyiv.
@@scotty1928 Shhhh.... don't let the Russians hear you.
We can rebuild him. We have the technology. We can make him better than he was. Better, stronger, faster.
Too bad the AN-225 doesn't exist anymore.

Rest in peace antenov 225
Mind. Blown.
I like how you are so much better when the planes get bigger. The last two were butter for the size of those planes.
I usually don't fly the smaller planes lol
Crushed it!

Really miss this gigantic monster now.
Fun to watch, and the detail especially of the water / waves is just amazing. And now try to start the 747 there 🙈🤣!
how tf u do these I cant evenstop the cessna on this lol I love these vids keep up the good work!! :)
Thanks!!! Don't flare too long a just brake maximum and you will be able to land 👍
MSFS needs to let you pull the breaker for the "Don't sink" alarm
i love the sound of the beechcraft king air 35o1 when its gonna reverse tank that you used that plane!
now An-225 flies only in the simulator. R.I.P.
What a beautiful 747!
Good job!

Any landing that you walk away from is a good one :)
Your landing skills are amazing, i am almost thinking you're a pilot or pilot in training. Very nice landing with the 747 and an225.
You made them landing s look so easy well done
Until the blue one ALL way to fast incomming and from the wong direction. 👎🏼
Antonnow on this short runway - PERFECT 👍🏼
and now the native ppl can live in the 747 because it isn't taking off lol great video
It is weird they dont have a taxiway at the end of the runway
We'll decide on the butteryness of landing tyvm
Great landings! Now the take off is next 😄
Does MSFM not have any suspension movement on any of the planes? Seems like a huge oversight for them. Also your videos rock! Keep them coming!!
I must say i do have a hard time landing anything. Such as the A320 in this sim. Fsx was fine when i flew aircraft.
Top! Unbelievable that you can do that, great! 🥳
Super entertaining! I’m honestly glad I don’t have this game because if I did id be playing it 24/7.
Highly entertaining 😄
With the Antonov, I noticed how it barely cleared the house roofs.
Nice job !😀

Check out that tall ass tree right at the beginning of the hill down to the runway! Can we get some frigging trimmers out there?!! :D
nice Antonov approach & landing ..
This is awesome to watch. You just need some practice hahaha
6:02 The plane went into the sea a little from the beach, but I think it can be salvaged with a crane. :D

There is an area to turn around down by the water.

Ah but the question is, can they take back off???
You can use thrust reversers before touching down, just as a reminder
You can't use them in the air (some planes can but most of then can't)
Now try and take off with all those planes 😂
5:47 just a normal Ryanair landing:)
The KLM was a good landing
