Turkiye Fifth Generation Fighter KAAN has Performed its Maiden Flight

Turkiye’s indigenous fighter jet, Kaan, performed its maiden flight today at Ankara Akıncı Air Base. Turkiye’s indigenous fighter jet, Kaan, took off for the first time today from Akıncı Air Base, next to Turkish Aerospace facilities in Kahramankazan, Ankara. The aircraft, escorted by the Turkish fighter jet F-16, performed its maiden flight around the airfield.

The fact that an aircraft is 5th generation has nothing to do with its engine. 5th generation means avionics. It is related to weapon systems and being invisible. Kaan is currently a platform that will be better than F22 than F35 and is equipped with new and unknown technologies. Currently, 7 test aircraft have been produced.

Nah only the engines are 4th generation and are used in F-16's but engine development has been progressing now for years. The test phase for such engines usually takes a lot of time in order to get licensed

What actually caused the delay of the F-22, not because of the outside design but the engines. They couldn't use the powerful 4th generation engines, but because it produces so much heat and infrared it releases. They had to create an engine from scratch designed to avoid total radar detection@@asas-cf1gf
