Day 52 of requesting draven guide :') EDIT: At 18:40 you asked why you're focusing allistar, that is because i remember in your last garen video, u said garen ult is scaling through the missing hp of the enemy, so when you do that on a enemy tank, that is definitely an execution.
I am a Garen Main, And I also recommend this build. Trinity Force -> Steraks Gage -> Sunfire Aegis -> Plated Steelcaps Glory Enchant -> The Black Axe Thing or Yomumu -> Literally any defence item, but dead man's plate guaranteed. Garen is not that hard to learn guys, you just gotta know how to time the Silence right, and time his shield skill, remember. When you cast garens shield skill, the first 1 seconds give 60% defence, and the rest gives 30%, so you should time the defence skill well, you should also time the 1st skill and cast it when you get hit by cc, and follow it up with the spin, and an ult. Just be careful of Akali matchups, they are bullies, Darius can be countered easily.
Definitely trying this build out! Love how you explain the builds, items that you have to take against a certain champion, helps alot! Keep the good content coming!

Alistair is their tank. Mundo, Braum etc you mentioned... Soak up damage to protect their team. Your ult hits for true dmg so ignores all their armor. Shoot down their tank and they either run or die. It's like breaching the wall of the fort...
On a 11 win streak myself I happen to build sunfire, cd boots, and warmogs everything after is situational. The overwhelming amounts of hp recovery and dmg w sunfire + ignite just keeps me in battle constantly. Do dmg, get hurt, step out, heal, dive back in against a different champ.
Garen's ultimate does bonus damage based on percentage missing health of opponents, and also 50% of it to surrounding enemies....so when a tank is low on health his missing health is huge and deals great damage
With your comments about taking out alistar, I get it, I get the idea that you've the best chance of taking out the alistar vs an ad/ap carry. but wouldn't you rather focus a bigger threat? Nobody on the enemy team here really seemed to be a threat at the time you mentioned this but I think silencing and possibly killing the kennen would be a higher priority. Kennen has higher damage potential, has an equal amount of cc with the ult, and is much easier to kill than an alistar (even with true dmg). Not saying it doesn't work with this situation you had, but in general if you played 100 games I feel like focusing the kennen vs the ali you'd come out better focusing the kennen. Maybe not, idk, just thoughts. Keep up the good work man, love the channel!

I think the main reason you targeted alistar on my opinion was 1st he is the tank of the group and since you can handle damage also the enemy focuses on you and you stop him from targeting your squishy team mates also 2nd is due to garens ultimate that can do true damage and can kill enemies with low hp , keep up the great videos 👍👌
I went against a garen with that build as akali and god it was hell.... He didn't die a single FUCKING time! Also he deals decent damage. That game made me feel like tearing my eyes out.
I kind of did the math here. With this build you can kill the enemy when there're hp is below (400+0.43Max Health)/1.43, which means that for a normal adc with 2200 max health, you can kill it when it's below 941hp, which is 42% of its max health. And for a common bruiser with about 3150 health, it's 1226, 39% of its max health.
Alistar is a tank and his ult absorbs insane damage. Since your ult does true damage, it makes sense to focus the ali instead of using everything on him and being on cd for the other 4 enemies
Garen is really something. That's why I call him the "OG baron laner". I love using him on LoL PC and even here on LoL WR. Scream "DEMACIA!!" before charging to enemies of course. Edit: My answer for focusing the tanky champions with Garen is because of his ulti. His ulti unleashes much more damage from missing health and tanky champions have a lot of health. And it does true damage too.
how do u think about black cleaver on garen ? I think it is worth a try tbh, it gives you 400hp , a ton of ability haste as well as a broken passive (-24% armor reduction and more speed ) . i am curious why nobody utilize it, as the bonus health meaning that more armor from sterak's lifeline
Focusing tanks like Alistar braum with garen bcz garen's ult deals true damage and if you can kill tanks first in a team fight the fight is yours Bcz tanks in team fights like they aren't doing anything but they are doing everything 😤
in my opinion tryumph brings a lot more value to tanky garen. i prefer ghost rather than ignite for more mobility on the map and to secure the range to use ultimate. i sometimes go for exhaust or ignite in some situations but most of the time i go for ghost. also i don't hesitate to rush spirit visage as a first item if facing a difficult ap matchup, with the passive and regeneration mastery it will secure the laning phase and enable your jungler to focus on bot side for the first drake.

I’m a high dia mastery 7 Darius player and let me tell you how Garen can win this matchup. Garen should abuse his stronger level 1 and 2 to punish Darius in trades. Darius cannot trade with Garen until level 3. After level 3, you can bait him to try and hit q on you and you should go in for the silence and not get hit by the blade of q. After this spin to win while activating your 3rd ability and not let him get close enough for autos while still hitting your spin. He should use his hook but you should just back off. You either go even on trade maybe even win the trade. This is good because you have regen in passive and you are setting him up for the lvl 5 all in. If you both half health at level 5 you can all in him because he stack too slow to get ult on you while you ult him quicker. After this first kill you can snowball. Your rune should be grasp and take ignite.

I just did the exact same build on Darius and 13/2/9! Just Perfect! The only thing is that I know that you could tweak a little more to be even tankier!
Garen tank is very popular in esport competitive matches so this build does not supprise me. U either run Grasp or Fleet footwork, with triumph or champion, hunter titan or regen, and hunter genius or sweet tooth. Tank garen has more use than regular bruiser garen. He soaks up everybody's ability in team fights, like Mundo, and executes with his ult.
Damage reduction does apply for true damage as well.... just armor and magic resist doesnt affect true damage.....So, garen's ult cares if damage reduction is present
You focus on Alistar because of Garen's ult damage is based on enemy's missing health. So if you focus on Alistar, you can easily kill. Also taking Alistar down first, they will run for their lives because they don't have frontliner and setter.

Coz ur ulti deal some % health true damage on and around the target so tank has more hp so more damage around him

You focus the tank because your ult deals true damage so it shreds the armor or the mr and you kill him so enemies has no tank
You focus on Alistar because of Garen's ult damage is based on enemy's missing health. So if you focus on Alistar, you can easily kill. Also taking Alistar down first, they will run for their lives because they don't have frontliner and setter.
