I can’t express how important this man’s work is to me. Inspiration isn’t a fitting term, this man created the most hauntingly beautiful work I have ever seen.
I get a strange sense of comfort looking at these. I can't pinpoint what makes me so calm and at ease looking at them but they're just so peaceful to me.
I always hated art classes in school cause I never really "felt" the art that we were learning about. Even the "masterpieces" were mostly unintersting to me because I realized that the theme or the meaning of a painting is mostly already determined. You know at the end of class I had to analyze a Painting and I just Had to write down why this painter painted this apple green and what aspects of the cultrual backround played into that. So art was, for me, always Just learning about a Point in time were different people painted simular paintings and even though I admired their Skill, the meaning was always, as I mentioned, determined by the time they were born in and because of that I never really felt their paintings because I was always "learning" what it all means and I never "experienced" it. And this Guy here is no exception. But what he managed is truly outstanding to me even though I know about his life Story the paintings still keep their meaning to themselves. There are just reocurring themes but no explanations of what These paintings all really mean. Everyone who sees these pictures have to make up their own feelings while observing them. There is no social commenting (in my eyes) no use of "sterotypical" elements and no one who can say to me that I dont understand it. This is not only Skill like in the other time periods. This is truly Art.
I believe institutional "education" has robbed the world of people like this, which is why I refuse to call it education, even training is too much, it's a pathetic pursuit of social status that you sacrifice your most creative years for, absolutely cancerous.
This is THE after life peoples. Mr. Zinksi had these as dreams....some of them. So he shared them with us. He will be there, to guide us, to show us, to help us.
@@EvilSapphireR He would've but what is an artist without a vision.
What elevates Beksinski above other impressionist-type painters, to me, is the incredible detail he works into certain parts of his paintings. Amid abstract forms, I always find specific areas (usually the hands or feet of his subjects - or materials like sheet metal or cloth) that are painted with such incredible texture that they look almost photorealistic. It makes me regard the pictures more deeply and emotionally than if the entire works were consistently subdued, if that makes sense. He doesn't have to depict a whole realistic human body (but just put vivid detail into specific parts of abstract forms) to make you see his subjects as people.
It’s mind-boggling how someone could create such magnificent piece of arts,so much emotions you can just stare at one painting for hours and feel everything. What I would give to have such talent.

just found out about this guy today. I so appreciate having this massive comp of his work. He may very well be my favorite artist now. His work is incredible and chilling. I can't imagine the amount of work this vid took, thanks for it.
My absolute favorite artist ever. So many things obviously take inspiration from him, probably without even noticing. Not to say he wasn't recognized but I don't think any amount would be enough. Many other artists depictions seem so plain in comparison. A shame his life ended the way it did, I hope those kids hurt knowing what they took from the world.
Hauntingly beautiful, why do i feel so inexplicably connected to Beksiński's works. Perhaps something within the dystopian surrealism reflects my own soul...
So much symbolism. Even the connection to Poe. The world is dirty, dark, in motion and at the end of motion. He has a fixation with the Catholic church and crucifixion mixed with a clouded eye at reality. It's emotional and draws me into the emotion.
I always had the impression that Beksiński doesn't paint uncomfortable or grotesque subjects to evoke unease or to just create strange images. He simply liked this subjects, thematic universes and always revisited them. He doesn't create art for art's sake or to simply produce beautiful tableaus.
these paintings evoke such heavy dark feelings.. every single painting makes you question so deeply what they mean. He is able to paint his memories into extreme abstraction to how he feels inside. Its an amazing gift for him and for all who have had the chance to experience it.
