TWO sockets ! will a ring / combination spanner do ? until you try - you just can't know - clearance for a 1/2" extension bar, etc. Starters a a PAIN to do: working on a 6310 with Loader & Front Mudguards, Loader down and stuck in a peat bog....... and winter is knocking on the door. Always the case: mild days of SUmmer - nothing happens. Gonna have a rummage for a couple of donor sockets. Thanks for posting.
You can get the proper tool from your John Deere dealer or the service guard website. The part number for the wrench is JDE80 its inexpensive and very handy to own it works on many models.
@Trump won Huh, I'm expected to use a KJD10160 for same job, generally unavailable or from $11 to $150 + Import taxes + shipping..... It's KNOWING the length and angle to cut / bend / weld and time is money....
John deer sells a special wrench for it it but they didn't have one in stock. so I welded a socket to another socket and used extentions. I can't remember for sure but I think it was 9/16ths. then I would have to ratchet a little and take it off and put it back on so I could spin more and repeat. really a pain in butt but it works.
Thank you for showing how you did this, I'm about to tackle the same issue on my 86 415B and didn't want to buy a wrench
Im glad I helped someone! :) Hope it switches out smoothly for you!

+Larry W basically made a crows foot but works better if you use a 12 point socket.
