I prefer DPM. You can brawl with it, catch fast tanks, snap those crucial shots, and never be pushed on without reposte. With high alpha but low rate of fire you are always reloading... Like when that perfect shot is available, when you wanted to punish that light for poking... If you miss you lose all your influence. Once you shoot your enemy just rushes you and you can't do anything about it. However the Leopard is sexy but the E 50M is everything it is but has armor and can ram making the Leopard obsolete.
I prefer a nice balance of both. Like the m4 revlorise is one of my favorites at tier 8 bc it got good alpha damage and good Dpm. It's rare to find that in a tank though but there are tanks with pure Dpm that I love and ones with just alpha that I love. Just depends on the tank.
Its a balance because low alpha high dpm is just as bad as high alpha and low dpm. I don't really like sitting in the open having to take a long time to even get damage out cause the dpm is low. A mix of both is better imo

when i first time grind this line, i'm really suffering with Leo PTA (no gun depression, standard mobility) but when reach Leo 1 . it's a tank matched with my playstyle . really love using Leo 1 (67% WR in 1500 battles)
Fun fact: Today i played the tank, i did 8.9k damage hall of fame 4th place, in that game the tank displays its amazing mobilty and camo so thats why i was able to 1v4. Have a nice day!

I think both T62A and M46 Patton are better because they got so much more armor and dpm is barely different. They are just as good with sniping and even better in gun dispersion and aiming time. Mainly cuz so much more armor though.
As someone who owns the Prog, I can tell you it is hard to play, but super fun. The autoreloader is super useful, and the mobility is incredible. Turret is troll, but no armor anywhere else. As far as I can tell, Cent is less mobility, but a nice gun and pretty good armor (which gets even better when in hull down). It just depends whether you want autoloader or machine gun, mobility or reliable armor. Hope this helps.

First steel on target usually wins 2.) Killing at range is far safer than brawling in close = idiots errand 3.) Sitting/ camping is being a Stationary target / DEAD DUCK don't be a duck

Haven’t played the pta in over a year and I can confirm, I got 11 aces in 160 games because it’s hard to figure out how to play it
PTA doesn't have power to weight ratio like Leo 1, that's why it's slower, the real killer is the gun depression with no armor.

Leopard's gun is a gem, I once camped on a hill in uprising mode and ended up with 17k damage. Sniping targets 400m away with godlike accuracy!
