From what I've been able to piece together over the years from various interviews, it sounds like Twiztid and co. wanted more freedom to do whatever they wanted, but J has always wanted to be The Don Mega, if you will. He wants everyone to play his game and do exactly what he wants them to do. So maybe he'd give them a little wiggle room here or there, but then he'd "fuck them over" in one way or another i.e. not pressing enough copies of Abominationz. Can't have Twiztid selling more copies than ICP, after all! How dare they get more popular than him! So I'm sure they had talks or, more likely, fights, while they were still on the label. And eventually they were finally allowed to leave to form MNE but then Twiztid came back asking for the masters of their Psychopathic albums, which J absolutely refused because, again, Don Mega. He feels he owns EVERYTHING made under the Psy label (which technically he does, but like, c'moooon J.) So that pissed Twiztid off so they just so happened to sign the dude that got Jumpsteady's daughter pregnant as a petty act of 'revenge' and J took that like an act of treason and will never let it go. Which, meh.
Honestly, I'm surprised either label is able to make money in 2024.
