I stayed here in December 2017 and was impressed with how clean and comfortable it was, especially compared to the Super 8 I stayed in Charlotte just a couple of days earlier. For the money especially ($32 a night!!) it was FANTASTIC. Sorry you got a bum room.
The reason that coffee pot was so hard to put in was because it wasn't meant to go with that coffee maker. The pot is Mr. Coffee brand while the maker itself is a Cuisinart.
Kind of crappy you had to move rooms twice, but hey, at least it gives you a somewhat different experience. At least you find humor out of this and make the best of the situation. I like that. I know some people who would leave the hotel in two seconds.
I love the "observable problems" list. It makes me think that I would love to see a hotel tour where every time you have a complaint about something there or notice something wrong, that increases a counter as the video goes on. If you don't know what I mean, watch a Cinemasins "Everything Wrong with" video.
I haven't ever stayed in a HoJo, but... I can kind of be glad now that I didn't lol! I have a mini fridge in my room, and I defrost it regularly, even though it doesn't frost up that much. It is kind of disappointing how a security flaw on the door goes unwatched. I guess it is because since people just swipe their cards and think it is unlocked it gets unnoticed, but that is such a problem, especially in a what appears to be a sketchy part of VA Beach outside. I have been thinking about it recently, and I am thinking that the reason why all of these hotels are so piss poor is because with 100+ hotels walking distance from each other, they try to compete with prices. $50 is cheaper than most hotels in Fredericksburg! But of course, most hotels in Fredericksburg are better than in VA Beach or Myrtle Beach or Pigeon Forge or where ever. Great review!
I think this place is more focused on running as a low income apartment building than as a hotel. Many rooms have kitchens in them, and they advertise weekly rates on the sign in front. It's probably geared at people who want to live near their family members/significant others who live on base, but are there for too short a time to make an apartment practical (or for people who aren't financially able to get an apartment).
12:34, the coffee pot says mr. coffee and the coffee maker says cuisinart at the bottom. So somebody probably broke the original pot and replaced it with whatever they had, that’s why didn’t fit right
that's like a hotel from the 80s. if it was in better condition, that's a kind of hotel that the Griswolds would be spending the night on the way to Wally World.
Same as Malaysia (but way worst than Americans did). And even I stay few of the most dirty hotels too. 1. I have ever stay at a beach resort about 40km from my hometown. About RM200 (equal to about $40++), no elevator. The best is the picnic side but the worst, only 2 TV channels which broadcast in analog (very blur and snowy picture at there). Plus, feels very sandy in room with my bare feet and no WiFi. 2. Another beach resort located Southern Kelantan (known as Tok Bali), have elevator with price RM300 (about $75++). Not too clean. The worst, the TV want to fell down to the ground. I contact the manager about the TV that I said but the manager doesn't care. 3. The hotel what I said above have change hotel name to Neo+ Hotel. Now with improve more clean and good quality.

I love that the "Observable Problems" list is the size of the whole damn screen by the end of the video.
I actually had to make the font smaller twice to make it fit :D
***** Oh that's too funny!

ROFL, that was hilarious. Especially in room #2. My first thought was "THE TV'S POSSESSED!!!"

19:41 The inn at the peachtrees broke that record :)

@Emory Zayn lately I have been using FlixZone. You can find it by googling :)

@Emory Zayn I would suggest Flixzone. Just google for it :)
I once had an old Sony TV that did the same thing. I had to press the power button 5 times just to get the TV to turn off.
This place reminds me of the Bates Motel.
Bates motel the 2nd!
I might have defrosted the fridge myself.
this is why people stay at good hotels like hampton inn or holiday inn
"These mattresses look fairly new......ew."
Hahaha!
wow I never seen that much frost before. i'm like it's not that hard to defrost the mini fridge.

***** I see. I certainly wouldn't stay here if they paid me. Did you have any bug problems? Looks kind of like the place, but I could be wrong.
The Ho Jos Restaurant on Key Largo in 1971 was beyond belief. I never returned.
My record is 4 rooms at an Extended Stay America in Sanford, FL.
I love the sarcasm! 0:02
I checked their website and it looks like it's been renovated.

"I've even added a runny tally of all major issues...." I think you misspelled "running" with "runny" as in "runny egg" LOL
19:53 no idea. Got me stumped.
The coffee pot is for a "MR Coffee" machine and the machine itself is a cuisinart
Were you tempted to make a snow cone? Just kidding. I haven't seen that much ice either. The owner apparently doesn't take pride in their property.
HoJo is now a Wyndham brand. Wyndham and Choice brands, it seems, are iffy.
Did you do a bed bug check? I always do.
Off camera, yes. But they're very hard to spot. Professionals usually use specially trained dogs to sniff them out because they're so small.
The fridge was starting to break as well
I love how all of the rooms were numbered one right after the other! I bet 258 would have been the winner... not!!
were you and Alex in a Nissan 350z
Lol! Is this the worse hotel?
In Malaysia, I have stay 1 hotel in Penang, no closet door and TV lost the antenna (which connect to the roof).

Are you ever coming back to this place
hotel channel Definitely not. I was actually in the area again since this video was taken, and I picked a different hotel.
there was no turntable in the microwave, strange.
Gives the Disney budget hotels a run for it's money.....in the lack of maintenance department.
Shower curtains cost next to nothing! there's no excuse for a mildewy shower curtain.
Well when you have a list of complaints as big as long as the screen

Sadly, it did not used to be that way. At one time, HoJo was more reliable than Holiday inn.
