@GoodwoodRR when i was 14 my dad showed me my first ken block video of him drifting through the city of LA. My favorite shot of that video was the donuts around the big donut. I started driving and building cars after that video. I just recently finished my first car build. One day I will attend your guys event and i will drive a car in it! Thank you guys for putting on this event it has brought some really great memories for me.
8 months have flown by since i lost an icon, i miss him, i miss his goofy laugh and sense of humour, i miss his raw talent in extreme sport and motorsport, i also miss his fantastic bond with Lia. He was such an inspiration to many and he had so much left in the tank to fulfil achievements. Ken Block will always be remembered and never forgotten, may he rest in peace and tear up the heavens.
I never understood how it must have felt when Senna or Earnhardt died until Ken’s death. When people say you never imagined anything could happen to those drivers, it was never a conscious thought. But once they’re gone you realize their presence was an aspect of racing and car culture that you sort of relied on. Only in their absence can you truly appreciate their presence. KB43VER ❤
well said. I was 11 years old when Earnhardt died, and i bawled my eyes out for days and days...and the tributes and such were EVERYWHERE, and lasted for over a year in the mainstream eye. In a time where there was no social media, and the tv networks and magazine companies (yes, magazine lol), we had no choice but to be reminded weekly, monthly, if not daily. In this day in age, it's far to easy to just "move on to the next thing" with our 7 second tik tok brains... but it is nice to see that a bunch of us are still trying to remember ken and keep this in the public eye as much as possible!! We must never forget the impact he had on all of us!! rip KB43
@@2jsalomon Earnhardt's death certainly was in the news for quite a while, back then. Though, it only really lasted till September, for obvious reasons. 2001 wasn't exactly the best year for news, if you think about it. I have a somewhat personal connection to Earnhardt's death, as well, because my birthday is February 18th. It's a birthday present I never asked for and never wanted, but it was given to me regardless. We all miss him, just like we miss Ken. It's sad times, all around. Luckily, I do share a birthday with Enzo Ferrari, so it isn't so bad every year. I always say that "on my birthday, a racing legend was born, and another died."
Hoonigan needs to live on, you guys have the mantle to keep it alive for future generations and even your own kids may take on your mantles and rep the hoonigan team. ❤️
Ken block was a verified super hero. He did what everyone said couldn't be done. Miss this dude and never met him. Cried like a baby, like I knew him. Saddest day I care to remember in 20 years.
Ken was an icon even outside of motorsports. I could mention max verstappen to 95% of the people i know and they would look at me dumbfounded like who is that? But if i mentioned ken block, 95% of those same people will be like oh yea the drift guy or something along those lines lol they would know who he is
Love and Miss you Ken! He is the one who made me fall in LOVE with Rallycross! He is missed! PLEASE just do his name and legacy justice! He deserves nothing less!
About 4 months ago I found Hoonigan and Ken on UA-cam. I don’t ever feel deep loss for celebrities, ever. Yet Ken is different. Ken was someone I’d love to talk to. So much so I put a KB43ver license plate on the back of my Subaru. I don’t do bumper stickers or anything like that. Yet Ken I absolutely celebrate his life and what he stood for! My heart is with his family and friends. They truly have my heart. That loss is so significant. I just can’t even fathom it. ❤
This was a awesome watch and to hear the heart warming stories of ken and his inspiration and fires he lit to those close to him and the fires he lit in the heart of of fans, ken is beyond a legend and hero but a beacon on how we should aspire and inspire….🚀
Amazing video guys!! Great to hear all of your personal experiences with Ken!! He changed the world for us car guys and gals!! Also I say it every time but Travis is such an amazing guy and nobody else could have taken over Gymkhana like he has and follow in Kens footsteps. Travis is such a great representation of Maryland and how great the people in our state are and in our little town of Annapolis. I got to see him film it here at home and hung out with him at a “Sunday in the Country” like 11 years ago and he is this happy, genuine guy all the time. Would love a chance to go to Pastranaland and hang out for a day.
R.I.P. TO THAT FREAKING MAN!!!!! HE WAS TAKEN FROM THIS WORLD WAYYYY TOO SOON. MY CONDOLENCES AND PRAYERS STILL GO OUT TO HIS FAMILY AND SUPER CLOSE FRIENDS. HIS PASSING HITS ME AS HARD AS PAUL WALKER'S PASSING.
For those that have followed both Hoonigan and Ken Block he will always be missed, I cried the day i heard he passed and will always remember his greatness. there will always be a place in my heart and mind for Ken, He was humble never big headed. Many thanks for the memories
Great memories!! I've been around back when I was rallying in Ken's early years of rallying and got the chance to do side work for him a couple of times. I'm very honored to have gotten the chance to have conversations with Ken and gotten to know him just a little more than just what we see on videos...
I’m surprised it wasn’t all over the news. He was an iconic figure that defiantly shaped the worlds he was a part of. Snowboarding, skating, drifting, fun having
Hard to believe he is gone. His passion shone through in everything he did which was always at full noise with maximum respect of people and vehicle and limits
Thank you gents for sharing such amazing stories, I was shattered when I heard Ken had passed becuae he has been such an inspiration to me for the past 10+ years, I know I will never be at Ken's level and sadly will never meet him, but he reignited my love for cars, motorsport, and life. Motorsport is incredible when your in the moment as you guys talked about but once you leave the top tier it is a long way down. Ken reminded me through his videos to live life to it's fullest and be who you are, and for that I forever greatfull! If I ever meet any of you boys the beers are on me as it looks like you've run out. KB43VER!
When the news first came out i blew it off as a hoax. I didn't want to believe he was gone. Ive been watching Ken since i was kid. And as recently as his content with his daughter. My heart goes out to his family. Gonna miss an idol of mine. R.I.P Ken Block
To ME the best part of this group of RAD dude’s is no one shed a single tear....all I saw was smile’s& stories from Ohana! I hope Lia watched this&uses the good energy to fuel her career/heart🙏🏽 Much luv&respect from Hawaii🤙🏽
Just an idea for next year but maybe have Lia drive the Hoonipigasus up the hill. And favorite Ken moment was when I won a RC car from him and DC shoes in 2010 at Christmas and then finally last year getting him, his wife, and daughter to sign the car.
this is great i love to hear all there personal stories. much respect to a huge inspiration. he made such a huge impact on the motorsport community in a pretty short time. cant even imagine how much more he could have done. a huge loss for the motorsport community his legend will live on for many generations. but who the hell drinks beer out of a coffee cup.
I've never really thought about it much until i was watching this video... but how much "showboating" prioritized the type of "athletes" i liked to watch the most... People like... Allen Iverson, Blake Griffen/DeAndre Jordan+Chris Paul, Dale Earnhardt, Ken Block, Colin McRae, all these people i loved and admired watching growing up, because of how flashy and over the top they were. Dale is the one exception to that group, but he brought an entertainment value other drivers didnt at that time. These are the things that caught my eyes growing up, and made me fall in love with them, and their sports. And it's not really an acknowledgement i realized was so influential for my appeal.
I love this! It's what he might have liked you all to be saying. "He created this whole different thing". "Do you drive for the judges or for the crowd?' R.I.P., Ken.
It's always a recreational activity that gets the dare devils but atleast he went out doing what he loved hanging out with his friends and tearing up the snow fly high Mr.Hoonigan gone but never forgotten
One of my Heroes and inspirations KB4EVER😢 there will never be anyone like Ken but I have high hopes for Leah she is just like her dad. Love and respect to the hoonigan family and Block family.
I'm a 54 year old man that has a severe handicap but during the late 80's early 90's I was able to drive and owned a spiced up 94 olds Cutlass supreme and tried to make a drift car out of it until I tapped it around a tree!!!! But was lucky to walk away I STILL CRY OVER THAT CAR AND KEN WILL ALWAYS BE A HUGE IMPACT ON MY LIFE RIP 43VER
Pretty much everything they said is how travis is to me growing up. Early 90's kid into dirtbikes. Ken is a badass but i didnt find oit about him till much later on but the stuff he could do was amazing.
RIP Block 🙏🏻👍🏻❤ Ken was a Rally superstar, he is only a best, he was a great rally driver, a Gymkhana superstar, he was doing a flashy tricks, it was awesome.
My favorite ken moment 😢 when he had his home time away from the stardom RIP Brother BTW Hoonigan is starting to collapse unfortunately we have found the main thing holding it up has been lost
What's your favourite Ken memory?
Just Ken in general.
All of them
His first Gymkhana In his Subaru

He will be missed…. Loosing an icon sucks… Couldn’t wait for one of his new crazy ideas to do in a car…
it's still devastating.

I haven't watched a whole Nascar race since Earnhardt died, but with ken Block it's a whole different thing.
Very well said

I miss Ken so much. Awesome tribute guys. His memory and work will live on forever. Thank you so much. Love to his family.
I'm gonna miss Ken Block and Alex Gelsomino's onboard rallying videos. They were the coolest duo in my opinion.
Rip, Ken. We surely do miss you.
Ken block was a verified super hero. He did what everyone said couldn't be done. Miss this dude and never met him. Cried like a baby, like I knew him. Saddest day I care to remember in 20 years.
Ken Block always remembered never forgotten drive hard in heaven DC 43 for life 💯
How did Ken impact me? Im a 41 year old man that still daily drives a 2009 WRX Hatchback because Gymkhana 2....
Ken is the most legendary motorsports icon of all time. It's still almost unreal that he's gone.
