Bloodborne hunters are basically made from beast blood to hunt beast although they only consume the blood for superhuman strength however they're infecting themselves and turning into beast but it's still the same concept with the Abyssal Hunters with their Seaborn blood hunting Seaborns and possibly turning into Seaborns

So far this is my favorite side story, because the plot is juicy but not hard to digest, at least for me lol.

It seems as if the Seaborne aren't necessarily evil as much as they are a force of nature. The progenitor left the oracle before it dies, and Skadi is the only one who knows the content of the oracle. One hypothesis (according to the in-game dialogues of corrupting heart aka Skadi alter) is that in an alternative timeline Gladia failed to interrupt the Seaborne and Skadi told it the oracle, this results in Skadi's Seaborne nature overwhelms her human part (and probably making her into a very high-ranking Seaborne, if not a new progenitor), and Seabornes who receive the last oracle start evolving fast and eventually donimate all Terra, eliminating all existing civilizations.

The abbysal hunter story is similar to the manga Claymore. Manga about group of female warriors called claymore because of the big sword they're carrying. They exterminate monstrous being called Yoma. To fight Yoma more efficiently all the claymores have picese of yoma flesh in their body, if the claymores are not carefull to control their power they can mutate into more powerful yoma called Awakened One
The Seaborn ideology is perfectly logical. If you think about only the objective goal for your race, which is to expand and survive, then you cannot do any better than how the Seaborn do it. Throwing your "Moral Compass" to the wind and doing everything in your power to simply survive and grow your race in numbers, including feeding your own corpse to your kin when you die. The First to Talk wanted to convince Skadi to join them, and become a Seaborn. It would be absolutely impossible for anyone to fight this perfect logic if they were alone. But Skadi wasn't alone. Gladiia intervened and reminded her that she has people she loves, people she would give her life for, a cause she would give her life for, greater than the survival of her own race. The idea of "Love" cannot be logically defined, because Love is fundamentally a measurement of one's capacity to go against logic for a cause. It's what separates you from a Seaborn, it's what separates you from all those no-lifers on the internet. As a footnote, the *operator* Skadi the Corrupting Heart, being based on the version of Skadi where Gladiia did not intervene, and Skadi succumbed to her Seaborn blood, is one of, if not my single least favorite personality in the game, and I would not be using her at all if it weren't for her invaluable utility.

There's some willpower involved. If Skadi believes that she's a seaborne, she'll begin to turn into one. If she doesn't want to become a seaborne, she won't turn into one, and this second part is basically what Skadi Alter's profile is saying.

I don't think genders were ever mentioned and the text referred to them as "it". There's also this line during the fight with the bishop: "She watched the severed section of the tentacles. A few tiny buds poked their heads out of the nearly-transparent white." If this applies to all Seabornes then it seems like they can reproduce asexually by budding.
