    • @batouttahell24

      Andreas Saag A lot of code execution and programming.
      Masterjun did the entire TAS, they just played it back on actual console.

    • @Owna
      @Owna 7 років тому +5

      You use glitches/crashes to get the game to read the controller input as code. This can modify the code of the game. Then, the "modified" version of the game can be played. Some parts are actual gameplay, and some parts are more like "cutscenes".

      In a few words, arbitrary code
      Before everything fuccs completely you see tasbot doing a lot of weird stuff (before the tube)... well, that's because the bot is putting as much items on screen as possible, if you do it right you will override important data with an enemy value.
      Done right you can override the game at your will and code lines within the game (you see mario getting a feather before going inside the tube) and you practically can do anything.
      Cappy, Luigi, swapping between flower and feather, enemies dying suddenly, etc are just the easiest one (well, maybe not cappy) but with enough time and/or will you can even program other games inside the game.
      Look in youtube "flappy bird mario world" and that's something even greater, which is programing a game inside another thru arbitrary code.

    I just stumbled across GPB and his commentary style sounds effortless enough while he is actually on fire in this.

      Normally the time to make inputs ends exactly when he pushes the switch. There is one more frame to do anything. The trick is to hit jump on the very last frame so Mario jumps instead of just staying on the switch. I think they call it "Jamp"

    Anyone else thought it was weird that there was barely any marbles donations read during his run... there was an occasional donation(actually think there was only one donation if I recall correctly(that was read)) that had 'marbles' in it but it only had the word 'marbles' in the donation a single time. At least according to the announcer, for all I know she(sky) didn't read all of the times marbles was said during that donation... :P
    If only Carl had put a tiny section of marble spam in his donation since his full donation was read... rather it was sung, lol :P.

    Man - I grew up on Super Mario World. I love the mechanics so much. This video inspired me very much. I want to play Super Dram World 2 so bad! I just got SMM for the 3DS and I was so disheartened when I found out half of the mechanics / options of SMW are not available (no empty shells, no yoshi abilities based on the shell eaten/used, and more random things; I feel like you can't spin jump on half the things you can in the original title). ANYWAY! This game looks so fun, and so well made. Thank you everyone for all your contributions! (playing/creating/inspiring/more!)
