Productivity is not directly linked to hard work in terms of the number of hours put in the job. Narayana Murthy, founder of Infosys, has opined that you should work seventy or more hours a week to succeed and for your company and country to also succeed. Seven points are given to counter this concept and to suggest that this may not be a good idea either for you, the country, the organization or the economy. Some myths about the merits of hard work are removed.

sir, i was a person who believed one should be very much workaholics to be successful in life. i try to work more than 12 hrs everyday including weekends , maybe with this behavior i was able to publish two research papers and a book published but not able to perform good in competitive exams like csir net or GATE ending up as no one after completing my masters degree. and currently hiding from the society and questions from them.
i ll consider this video as an eyeopener, ThankYOU

It may be ok to work a lot before an important event like an exam or a software release. But regularly working too much can lead to imbalance in life and burnout. In Japan they have a word called Karoshi which means death by hard work. Often for older workers who kept pushing themselves too hard. Also do note I am not talking about time spent in office but actual work done after removing coffee or tea breaks, socialising, internet browsing etc.

Transcripts refers to mark sheets which lists marks and or grades

@@academicgladiator yes most DAAD programs do need 2 year work experience but check details in their web page. DAAD is a good alternative to USA in case one wants to go to Germany.
