Damn! That little record sleeve was the thing that turned me on to J-200s when I was a kid! I just flipped out on how ostentatious those things where, and they sounded huge! Hell, they are huge! I saw one used in a local music store and just had to have it. I talked my mom into signing to buy it on payments. I worked hard to pay off that guitar. Still have it. Thanks Mom!
Wonderful story. Love these too, specially on that colour. I am glad you still have it! Jumbo and dreadnoughts are too big for me (love their sound though) so I have a folk size guitar. I am saving for an Art & Lutherie, since I can't afford a 00015m Martin. Take care, hugs from Spain :)

I saw Rockpile several times and they were one of the greatest live acts you could ever hope to see. I love the Stones but anyone who saw Rockpile knows who is really the greatest Rock n' Roll band in the world!
The wizard Lemmo, he can take a piece of history and make it sound like tomorrow, he just pulls something out the hat everytime his hands touch an instrument. Simply wonderful.

This is the sound you should be hearing with a good acoustic guitar. Good projection, volume, and balance of tone from bass to treble. And the best thing about older guitars is...yes, their age, because the wood has had all of those years to get completely dried out, and that is a big tone advantage right there. And I just want to say that Norm is a great guy, a super nice man. He has bought two guitars from me over the years, and has always made me feel welcome in his store. All you need to do is ask him or one of his employees to hand you any guitar you want to try out, and you can play to your heart's content, that is, when you can take the time from ga' ga' eyeing all of the beautiful guitars he has! :) :)
