I remember racing Formula Ford on Vallelunga in Toca Race Driver 2 as a kid. Good times..
I agree with you man static shots look way sweeter in racing replays
I tried to answer your comment directly but this new comment section wouldn't let me do it, lol.
You have to adjust you Field of View to make it look a lot faster. I tested it in the 458 Italia and it was a HUGE difference. Just Increase your FOV in the default seating position until you completely see the left mirror.
You can change your FOV by enabling Developer Apps and then using the "Onboard Settings" App ingame.
Thank you...finallyyyyyyyy a good fov...i'll almost subscribe...
nice and smooth Bro!
I have 2 issues with this game, firstly it never feels like you're going particularly fast and secondly the cars feel a little lacking in terms of weight. The physics engine is very impressive though and details on the cars are spectacular, the tracks could do with a little work but then again it is an early release. Great vid as per usual Val!
fyi, i think pressing f3 a couple of times in replay switches to static view only
Than a racing sim game*
Gt6 is not a sim racer but more real life race drivers recomend gran turismo because of the physics. And gt6 is more about showcasing and and great driving physics rather than a racing game
The guy that won the GT Academy and got a succesfull career in racing was a heavy RFactor player, he pretty much played GT just for the competition. He was a big time RFactor guy.
*****
He was a heavy rFactor player, he said it himself on a forum away from the GT cameras obviosuly, so why are you telling me no he wasnt when I read it, like who are you? lol.
Most american simracers recommend iracing because of marketing bs that so many cant see past. Plus the muliplayer system they have setup is awesome and very enjoyable. If you watch the top drivers you can see that they use the most screwed up techniques to achieve the best times due to flaws in the physics. The cars feel ok when not near the top lap times which people mistaken for good physics just because they can turn laps without spinning.
I always wondered, why do you always shake the wheel while cornering instead of taking it smooth?
I'd imagine it's a mixture of the fact that the force feedback on logitech wheels is never really settled and the way that you get twitchey when you have to be ready to make quick steering corrections
Maybe. I thought that maybe it affects gameplay somehow, but that seems reasonable. It just looks kinda awkward to me, that's all. Wanted to know Valdudes POV on this ^^
Its FFB dude, Val plays on high FFB settings. Shaking through corners apex is for keeping car in control "catching spin" and trajectory correction.
***** it's like that with the DFP and I heard it's like that with other Logitech wheels and like Boss said, Val uses full strength on the Force feedback (bear in mind force feedback is stronger in some games than others) which I know from experience is hard to keep still. I also wouldn't call this a 'bad habit', it's his style, some drivers make lots of small corrections and keep their hands moving to keep themselves alert for bigger corrections whilst others can stay alert whilst steering smoothly through bends whilst still being ready to make big corrections, if you look at some in cockpit racing footage, you'll see that different pros have different styles.
RuggRagg Val's said that he just feels more comfortable driving through corners like that in one of his IRacing vids. It's just a personal preference is what he says.
RFactor 2 feels more complex than Assetto Corsa physics and i can balance the car on 4 wheel slides better. I'm more addicted to rfactor 2 physics feels more raw and immersive but ac is fun too. They both, along with game stock car 2013 and iracing are way better thsn pcars and completely destroy games like granturismo and Forza. GT has awesome graphics and a milliin cars its a real cool game though as an overall package.

Lol fanboy, you're probably coming from consoles. Or maybe you just dont know anything about racing physics. Gsc 2013 is one of the most highly regarded sims around, probably the best complete package you can get, and rfactor 2s physics are advanced as f**k!
vince R He doesn't actually need to know a single thing about racing physics. All he needs to do to know if a game feels real or not is be a real life driver with a REAL car, then play the games and compare those games to real life driving.
Dude, which one is better, assetto corsa or Pcars?
