Great song and Axl has always been one of the best rock singers. Axl has a good band but with Slash they had a great band and a lot of great bands forget that they need each other.

I really respect this band because it acknowledges it's influences one of was Nazareth. Nazareth is my favorite band, but I love Gnr. People shouldn't bash this album because it is a great piece of work. Of course it isn't going to sound the same as their other albums there are some new musicians and there is new material and they are experimenting with a wider range of genres. It is a great album.

@MattBAmusic No doubt about that,appetite was the last classic album put on vynal. Every song is great. Although Chinese is doing well now in sales because they are touring,I think the two songs they recored,silkworms,and the general would have really put that album over the top. Those two songs are great.

@Cyanarchy I agree, I thought bucket did a great job playing for guns and yes I wouldn't mind seeing him back either. His influence in chinese is very obvious and I'm glad it made the album. Slash is a great guitar player,i was always a fan of how he had more of a blues style of playing. I hope there is another album after chinese,I have heard some unreleased stuff that would blow you away.
he was just in romania 3 days ago and his "this I love" in Bucharest was very weak... it was like he didnt even try... I hate him for that !!!!!! this live Calgary is incredible and his voice is incredible too
@winnetouch i disagree entirely, slash's sound and numerous awesome riffs and solos were a completely integral part of the gnr sound, talent is one thing, but the soul in slash's playing and the fact that he just fits in so well with their sound and whole direction as a band, no slash = no guns. And though i do like a good half of the new album, it has nothing on appetite or either of the use your illusion albums. On those albums every song is awesome..
@jordaanOne Just bought it and its kinda good, just because people hear of the press that its not the same and sounds bad all the mainstream jump unto it claiming its afwul, while they even listen to it.

@Goshman321 Apparently a novice when it come's to GNR. Izzy Stradlin wrote most of the musical components of a majority of their songs, Slash added the awesome riffs and solos, Axl has a killer voice and was also a great composer as you can see on chinese democracy. As much as Slash rules of the three of them, his solo material is the least inspiring
@Hats1976 Bucket is the more technically talented guitarist, but Slash has that certain indescribable quality, the attitude, the rocker look, these are things I miss in GNR. Axl has the attitude, Axl has the look, the other guys, just stand there behind him on their rotating wall, coming and going. So long as the massive wall of guitarists can emulate Slash well, as they do, I am fine with the new lineup. I just hope we don't have to wait another 15 years for the next album. Unreleased stuff?

They aren't together but chinese democracy and this song is the proof that axl was, is and will forever be the one that put the name roses next to the guns one

Also i would consider by the sword and starlight mention worthy..?
@MattBAmusic Sure he is,loads of money. I've seen Gnr live 2 times in my life and axl in some ways sounded like the recordings but they all sing with something on their voice in the studio. Axl could still hit the low,mid and high notes. I'm going to admit right here,and I may take shit for it but I think Chinese is better than Appetite.

The new album without slash is just as good. Has some REALLY killer tracks on it and it was all recorded without the ALL MIGHTY slash. I'm not saying slash isn't a good guitarist, but he's wastly overrated if I compare him to some other underground guitarist from my home town even...
