I have to say I'm pretty impressed with how it didn't shut off in such a plethora of high grass, but I'm sure this mower would be better show cased as how it is effortless to handle, and lighter than traditional mowers even those with wheels and self propel..
I did a similar job but with an original electric Flymo. It was a lot lighter so was easier to swing around. It did an excellent job. Flymo's are a heck of a lot better than any wheeled mower, petrol or electric and are far more flexible.
Friend of my dad lost half his foot after he ran over it with a flymo, life changing injuries caused by lack of concentration. You gotta be more careful mate!!
My uncle had the one from the eighties. Or was it flymo. Can't remember. I just remember puting my foot on the red shroud which is blue here. To pull start it. I was about six. Bent that sucker. Man was he pissed. Back then they weren't cheap.
Kids should be far away from there. Specially when the usage of the mower is not appropriate (too long grass and no visibility of the ground). Nevertheless, this is a good video explaining well how a hover mower can deal with very very long grass. Pushing the machine to its own limits can teach a lot about itself.
Would it not be better to pick up the mower by the deck and place on the long grass vertically. Yeah, you might a few fingers but at least you'll have your toes.
It's not meant for tall grass, it does have wheels because it's a fly mower, it has a turbine like thing pretty much a fan that spins with the blades, and it make it hover over the grass making it easily maneuverable.
That mower isn't made for it you want the Right machine get a Big wheel string trimmer D.R trimmer husyvana come with plenty of power I have a old one just up graded the spool it runs 130 whip cord it would cut it up no sweat
I just purchased a flying mower. This is the greatest thing ever. Seriously, some men talk about their lawnmowers - I talk about my flying lawnmower.
That's how you pull a mower up onto your feet dude
This looks like an instructional video on how not to use a mower for what is originally designed for.
Those two stroke Suzuki engines are one of the best two stroke engines you could put on a mower and that's coming from a 4 stroke guy.
I have to say I'm pretty impressed with how it didn't shut off in such a plethora of high grass, but I'm sure this mower would be better show cased as how it is effortless to handle, and lighter than traditional mowers even those with wheels and self propel..
Proves the old saying about having the right tool for the job. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful! Love the smell of exhaust and cut grass.
Suzuki 2-cyclers never die! They were popular on many Toro mowers from the mid 1980s to the early 1990s.
Hover mower, ive never heard of this until today. Crazy
I did a similar job but with an original electric Flymo. It was a lot lighter so was easier to swing around. It did an excellent job. Flymo's are a heck of a lot better than any wheeled mower, petrol or electric and are far more flexible.
OMG....IVE NEVER SEEN ONE THESE BEFORE TODAY HEARD ABOUT HOVERING FOR HILL SIDES BUT THIS THING IS A BEAST!!! ITS THE TRUTH I LOVE IT
And for the average "home owner" their was the Ho-mow mower it came in rainbow colors !
This is the equivalent of shaving a woolly sheep with a nail clipper, possible but completely wrong on many levels.
Thanks for the video and best of luck with your machine. It appears quite well made.
A scythe would have been a lot easier for that job and less noise.
Doing that on a hot summers day and you'll be zapped of energy in 60 seconds lol
I’ve got to think hovering that thing into the garage makes quite the mess
So basically the cutting height varies depending on how bogged the engine is. looks like a nicely scalped lawn.
Friend of my dad lost half his foot after he ran over it with a flymo, life changing injuries caused by lack of concentration. You gotta be more careful mate!!
In England these were advertise as its a lot less bover with a hover in the 1970"s
This is a great lawn mower (Hover mower)
Does it do mulching?
that is the most ridiculous thing I have seen
No wonder they were never popular here in America!
i've seen you your the kirby guy i love the channel keep it up and post more vids.
Thank you, Jeremiah!
yeah really great channel

He needs a tractor with a 8' bush hog. He is making a mess with this little thing.
Those fly mowers just didn't work out. They were a novelty.
I feel so bad for the mower
I feel worse for all of us...
My dad was mowing our lawn and it was probably not even half the length of the grass at 0:32 and it caught on fire.
I would have put a gallon of diesel on the grass & lit it. Great mower though
You should really use a big mower to knock that down, grass that tall with a mower like that is asking for a chopped foot.
mower looks easier to use than a traditional with wheels.
Will it grind up a body?
I'm assuming by the sound of the engine its a 2 stroke, am I right?
Yes it is! A Suzuki no less!
It’s actually a 4 stroke engine. It’s probably the engine running at a high RPM so the mower will float, but it might be a 2 stroke.
Kid yelling every time the mower comes close !!
What kind of engine does this have?
thats where the name 2 smoker came from
Wow! Luckily, you still have all your 10 toes!😬😬
I would have coverd twice the ground in half the time with a 2 stroke weed eater
nice camera
Would be cool to own one, but that's about it... I wouldn't use it to cut my grass...
Seems like a scalping machine.
There's a reason why these things never really took off.
Probably not enough thrust right?
;)
The 2 strokes don't scalp as they hover high - sadly the 2 strokes have been banned and the 4 strokes are just too heavy.
@@zachisthebomb nice, beat me to it
good example of why we are a disposable society
Doesn't look too hovery...
How to turn your grass into mulsh part 1
That is a lot of work. And you guys are rude....
I will stick to my tractor mower.

WHERE CAN I FIND THAT THINGS GLORIOUS 2 CYCLE ENGINE ONLINE OR IN THE STATES!!!!!
The Toro Proline had this engine at one point, I don't know if Suzuki still make them anymore
You need a Gravey Commercial model for that job that's a bit much I mean really!
Would it not be better to pick up the mower by the deck and place on the long grass vertically. Yeah, you might a few fingers but at least you'll have your toes.
Looks safe..
Suzuki 2-Cycle!
not made for high grass numb nuts.
why wait till grass is so long, strim first
Wow! Scary!
nice
that is the damedest thing i ever seen where is the wheels dont it make it hard to push
It's not meant for tall grass, it does have wheels because it's a fly mower, it has a turbine like thing pretty much a fan that spins with the blades, and it make it hover over the grass making it easily maneuverable.
Poor little fly mower..
That mower isn't made for it you want the Right machine get a Big wheel string trimmer D.R trimmer husyvana come with plenty of power I have a old one just up graded the spool it runs 130 whip cord it would cut it up no sweat
Flymo is laughing.
Ese aparato no es para usarlo así, más bien es para mantener corto, y q no llegue a ese extremo
I think it's so tired to use the mower. Its design is not so good.
The engine on it's probably the only good thing.
Please get a room!
how many years since you last cut that "lawn"? I was surprised you got through any of it,....try a goat! LOL
This is a comedy...right?
This is some dumb stuff right here ill take my push mower.
Der ist echt Hardcore ☺☺☺
При использовании нужно на 100% быть уверенным что нет камней, а кто это сможет гарантировать? Ерунда.
Lousy design, he’s struggling more than the machine
Oh man, oh man...
Sure push it six feet under
People actually bought these things? Just goes to show how much the general public is so stupid. FAIL!
not for high grass
better off cutting it for hay
Thx but such a piece of crap! I’ve heard that Walmart sells ones w/ wheels and it’s all the craze! Lol! POS!
No way
Disaster...
what a flog
awful invention
Not really it did it’s job well like any lawn mower does but more maneuverable
