My budget shows no reason for a swing to corn acres next year. I had very good yields in both corn and soy but this year corn and soy profits were basically identical but only because my corn mostly dried in the field. 2025 fall prices give corn an added maybe $50/acre but that will likely be erased with normal drying cost. I’m not a fan of risking more money for the same amount of profit.
Soybean oil export sales have been phenomenal, 30,000 sold to India in a flash sale last week and 114,311 MT of sales in yesterday's report. Marketing year-to-date business is now the third best of the last eight years
US companies are stocking up because they expect tariffs. Foreign companies are stocking up because they expect retaliatory tariffs. Anybody remember Smoot-Hawley?
With outlook for beans being so poor can it get worse? If everyone makes a switch to corn do you want to join that party? At a minimum 18 months for markets to change. Would be interesting to see historically how grains trade when they are below break even. 2013-219 it always felt like the markets gave one or two opportunities
People have short memories that are easily manipulated. As I remember Trump tariffed china on steel and used it as a get to the negotiating table tactic and it worked until pudding brain got in who never took them off. He actually collected more money from tariffs than Trump did.😆
People need to look outside the US to know whats going on...Peru and China just finish building a massive port. This port will allow Brazil and Argentina to by pass the Panama canal reducing the shipping cost and delivery time by 20 days... This just put the nail in the coffin of our soybean and corn market in China..🤔
The Argentina oil company YPF has tripled with new President Miley taking over. When things change EC and PBR might jump as well. It would be a lot easier to promote South America than try to make the Middle East and China act normal.
@@steven4315 I think the Chinese can go pound sand. If they want to sell anything here, they must buy as much from us as we buy from them. Democrats are too stupid to know how this works. How did tariff's work out the first time for US ag? China's economy is a mess. They vastly over built. For decades they have been reporting unbelievable yearly GDP output. It was ubelieveable since no one can verify their numbers. Their provincial goverment's have been reporting inflated data to the central gov. because of the fear factor over there. China will only buy US ag as a token gesture of good will. Brazil has the product they need and the quantity and they are also their BRICS buddy. Oh, China has a small investment in our debt at 9% so they can call in their marker all they want. Japan has a larger stake at 13%. The way a tariff should work is a proactive one like Biden put a 100% tarrif on China electric cars this year. Have you seen a China EV...me neither, but reports are they are cranking them out cheaply. That tariff will protect US EV production. Elon has to lovvvvve that tariff.

Good morning! Can tariffs actually be a GOOD thing for US agriculture??
Expect retaliatory tariffs.
Same as market reports, right? Depends on where they come in compared to expectations. Traders will trade anything....
Yes, if u want really low grain prices like in 18',19',20' time frame.
US companies are stocking up because they expect tariffs. Foreign companies are stocking up because they expect retaliatory tariffs. Anybody remember Smoot-Hawley?
History doesn't repeat, but it rhymes. Everything was great in the '20's until it wasn't.

Agree fed cutting isnt needed, markets already roaring
It is!!!! The best..

Input costs make it hard to switch acres to corn.

Do they feel Trump will force China too buy more US agriculture again?
Trump has promised massive tariffs on Chinese stuff. I'm thinking the Chinese may not care for that.

Remember Musk also makes Cinese EVs, so he may not be as thrilled as you imagine if it messes with Tesla global supply chain.
With Trump there is hope, that's more than we had
Look at his Failed Jhina Trade War.
Hope for what?
Must be hoping for another fauci ouchie.
Who would you like Trump to nominate as the new Ag Secretary or will he retain Tom VilTax?
Kennedy might be filling that spot.
