Winner Eurovision 🏆 2025.
I wasn't a fan at first of this song, but seeing it live really changed my mind☺💖
Very nice song! Can't wait to hear it live at my home in Basel 🫶
You are so lucky to live in Basel :) yeahii
This is art! GO GIRL
With Pontic origin myself too (Fronimides, my last name - my full origin is from Trapezounta, Kapadokia, Smyrna & The Great City of Constantine), obviously I was waiting AND HOPPING this song to be good... Well, it is REALLY GOOD! I'm personally don't like much Eurovision; I believe after so many decades, the festival lost the identity. It WAS a SONG festival, now it's just a VISUAL STAGE performance. But sometimes... few rare times... you ACTUALLY LISTENING some good songs!!! THIS... this is a good song!!!
The girl's origin is also Pontic like mine.
I assume she has grand-mom, grand-dad, othe family members maybe born in Pontic soil - although I doubt is, she's SO YOUNG (and beautiful).
I DO... I am 54 years old and I DO have (still alive) some family memers, BORN there... to OUR LOST MOTHERLAND!
So, the song it's actually a metaphοr, it's a POEM. A SAD poem, inspired by the Pontic Greeks' GENOCIDE (from the Neo-Turks - not "Ottoman" like wrongly some other wrote, in the early of 20th century)! The song is a FUNERAL LAMENT ("Moiroloi", in Greek). It's a cry over a grave - the grave of our lost motherland, Pontus.
The lyrics, in English:
My star...
My star...
Sweet mother of mine, don't cry
Even if they dressed you in black (because I'm dead!)
My faded body...
the flames cannot hurt it (any more!)
The swallows of fire
Even if they crossing the seas
The soil of my roots
They will never forget (it, the soil of lost motherland!)
My star-eyed little one
Lean (down) so I can kiss you
Upon your holy tears
My lips I will extinguish
My star-eyed little one
Lean (down) so I can catch you
My forgotten feathers
To rest at last (for ever, in my tomb!)
Ooooh, my star, my precious gem!
Sweet mother of mine, don't cry
My life is like a ship
Searching the route to return back
With the wind blowing my sails
My star-eyed little one
Lean (down) so I can catch you
My forgotten feathers
To rest at last (for ever, in my tomb!)
Ooooh, my star, my precious gem!
Ooooh, my star, my precious gem!
My star!
...So, it's totally a metaphor funeral lament-poem-song:
It's says "even if THEY dressed you in black"... meaning, "mother" (Pontus, our motherland) is dressed in black (for funeral), because her lost "childern" (the dead Pontians from the Turks).
It's says "my faded body the flames cannot hurt it"... meaning, she's already dead and IN PEACE now, she's not suffering anymore!
"The swallows of fire"... meaning, troubled INNOCENT people, suffering people, running to save themselves from THE FIRES OF WAR...
"Even if they crossing the seas"... meaning, all those SO MANY THOUSAND Pontians (survivors) they've been forced TO LEAVE their homes, to CROSS the Aegean sea, to come in Greece as REFUGEES.
"The soil of my ROOTS will be never forgoten"... meaning, like we all Pontians saying "WE WILL NOT FORGET" (about our Genocide)!
"Lean down so I can kiss you"... meaning, because our tortured Pontic ANCESTORS flying like an angels above us, dead now!
...Etc, etc...
It's a METAPHOR FUNERAL SONG about the Pontic Genocide.
For ONE TIME... at least we chose a song with FANTASTIC lyrics.
On the other hand... too, the song also has great ABSOLUTE TRADEMARK GREEK music!!!! No F*CKIN' POP, nore "rap" or "trap"... nothing!
It's MODERN music (not a traditional folklore song)... but IT'S SO F*CKIN' GREEK, by all means!
It SMELLS... it SOUNDS... it so Greek, period!
And of course... the girl has AMAZING VOICE, angelic!!!
...Btw... her first-name is "KLAVDIA". It's a PURE, ABSOLUTE ANCIENT female ROMAN name!
My name ALSO is a pure absolute ancient Roman one: "ROMULUS" (the founder of Rome)!
Generally, if you don't know, A LOT Pontians have PURE ROMAN first-names, because the Eastern Roman Empire - Pontus was one of the TOP regions of the empire.
thanks for your comment and all the information :)

Omg what a feeling! Great, Clavdia!
My star, my star
My sweet mama don't cry
even if they dress you in Black
My faded body
flames cannot defeat it
The swallows of fire
even if they cross seas
never forget the soil of their roots.
My little star-eyed girl
turn so I can kiss you
With your holy tears let me extinguish my lips
My little star-eyed girl
turn to me so I can catch you
My forgotten wings finally resting
Ah, my star, my treasure
My sweet mama don't you cry
My life is a boat
searching for the way back
and my sail for wind
My little star-eyed girl
turn to me so I can catch you
My forgotten wing finally resting
Ah, my star, my treasure
Ah, my star, my treasure
My star
She is an extraordinary 22 year old girl with a voice from heaven. When you hear her akapela you think you are hearing an orchestra with her. Her family has experienced refugee and persecution and that is what she sings. She talks about pain and separation that's why she speaks to everyone's soul and that's why don't expect to see her dance. In other songs and she sings from English to Russian she can put on a great show.
Love from Greece 🇬🇷 thank you
Just..perfect !

The cloth and the circle refers to the umbilical cord such as a spiral the symbol of eternity. Is a song that express a heartfelt separation.

Loved your reaction ! Greetings from France
Merci my friend :)
It has great lyrics, amazingly spot on with Greece's migrant history, so it would be nice if you could find them.. : )
Song is about longing to go back to your homeland ..Having to leave or forced a refugee because of war, or poverty ..a mother waiting for her child to return...rooted..always connected thus the ambilical cord...My star, my star
My sweet mom, don't you cry
even if they put black clothes on you
My faded body is not
defeated by the flames
The swallows of fire
even if they cross the seas
they never forget
the soil of their roots..My little Starry Eyed Girl
turn so I can kiss you
so I can extinguish my lips
in your holy tears
My little Starry Eyed Girl
turn to me so I can catch you
and rest my
forgotten wings.Ah, my star, my treasure
My sweet mom, don't you cry
My life is a boat
that looks for a way back
and the wind is my sail..My little Starry Eyed Girl
turn to me so I can catch you
and rest my
forgotten wings..Ah, my star, my treasure
Ah, my star, my treasure
My star...Its a great Song exudes sorrow and her voice is impeccable..
Klavdia can indeed sing😂😂 I have heard a compilation of famous covers she has absolutely nailed - one of them was noted and liked by Aguilera herself❤😮
Cool :) I need to look that up 💃🏻
the lyrics of the song tell about a daughter who tells her mother not to cry for her death and for the lands that the Greeks lost to the Turks when they committed genocide in the Black Sea and on the coasts of Asia Minor
She has VOICE, she does not need to move at all dear.
"Γλυκια μου μανα μη μου κλαις.... μαυρα κι αν σου φορουνε""❤
She can sing...she can sing....OF CAURSE SHE CAN SING DARLING
The best
I really like her voice and this song , it's the kind of music I listen to.
For ESC though, it might not do so well cause it's brought in such a 'calm' way without any overdone light effects or musical arrangement, it's not bombastic so I'm a bit afraid it will go quite unnoticed among so many other songs.
The mother cries to kiss her beloved lost daughter from the slaughters from the barbaric invasions in our homelands mainly genocides across history, and the daughter soothes her pain. It speaks about generational traumas the cord umbilical generations of mothers and children crying... in short noone really dies!!! Thanks so much for your lovely reaction!!!!
thanks for your nice comment :)
That song is a dialogue in metaphor between the motherland and the refugees who are presented as a small fragile girl "Asteromata" (the girl with eyes bright as a star again metaphor for hope). That "girl" is telling to her beloved mother that even if she is separated from her, she is strong enough to survive no matter the suffering the danger and the pain and she will not ever forget her. Then in the refrain of the song the mother cries for her lost precious child.
that's sad and beautiful at the same time :´(
Eine sehr schöne Stimme
Hallo.
Halo AK💫... from Greece 🇬🇷.. Good luck Klavdia..very nice voice. 👏Song with Greek vibes.I like also the song "Odyssey" but it didn't pass ......
thanks for your comment :)
I loved "Odyssey" too. I was very surprised to see it came forth. Not that asteromata doesn't deserve its place though
❤❤❤❤

Sei immer gesund! Küsse aus Athen.
danke für deinen netten Kommentar :)
My german friends. Vote fo us
Top 10 for sure❤
It's a song about all people that were made to leave their homeland, about all the refugees. Search for the lyrics! Thank you for your heartful comments :)
Dass du was gefühl t hast heisst schon viel.
🇬🇧 So, I think the Songtitle is spoken like written, and it means 'Starry Eyes'. About the Artist Name 'Klavdia' I think it's spoken like 'Klaudia', so the V should be an U. But I'm not sure about that anyway Google translated Klavdia in a Greec Comment here on UA-cam into Klaudia, so that should be right.😅 The song in general I think is really good, normally I'm not the biggest fan of rather slow and silent songs, but sounds massive and there is some Dramatic in it. While Greece🇬🇷 last year was only on 33rd out of 37, just because I couldn't hear that much of music out of it, this years Greec entry is a nice 2 out of 5 together with Albania🇦🇱
🇬🇧 Little Notice: I counted CLICKBAIT by NEONOEN as a 5th Entry for my ranking, since it won Montesong and was a clear entry to the ESC for a short time, making it somehow a part of the Contest for me. Between Albania🇦🇱 and Greece🇬🇷 I couldn't decide spontainously😅
@@AK_loves_EurovisionNo it's Klavdia with a v just as you read it. But the tone of it is in ia. So it's klavdIA.
@@pennybleta2300Okay, then I think that automatic google translation was wrong and it's actually Klavdia. Just thought... But thank you bro!
@@syndrom4193 No problem I was happy to help. Sometimes it's difficult to pronounce such a rare name even for some of us Greek people let alone those who don't speak our language.
Ιt is a sad song so there will be no much of a dance though the choreography will change, the song is a dialogue between a mother and her missing child. The cloth is a umbilical cord where the child is missing and the same time is a spiral, the symbol of eternity. It is either red (bloodish) or blue (goddish)
thank you so much for the information. The fact with the umbilical cord makes so much more sense now :)
She doesn’t have to move her voice does that. But we have to change the dancers(i think they have to dance)
The song is emotes sorrow like a sad chant No need for movement...
Hello AK,
There are songs that are not just notes and lyrics. They are memories, tears, stories, they are the soul of a people. Klavdia’s “Asteromata” is not just a Eurovision nomination-it is a journey to our roots, an invocation to the light of tradition, refuge, sacrifice and nostalgic love. A characterization, “Asteromata”, which was once heard in the alleys of Izmir, becomes the key to opening the door to our history.
AI undertook to analyze the lyrics, and what followed was a storm of emotions, an exploration of human existence and our collective memory.
What AI wrote
“Asteromata”: Light in the Dark
“Star-Eyed” is not just a name. It is a hymn to the light that emanates from the soul. In Smyrna, before the disaster, women with large, bright eyes were called “Star-Eyed”. Their eyes reflected what the voice could not express-beauty, pain, anticipation, longing for love and for life. It was the entire universe enclosed in a glance.
With the Disaster of Smyrna, those eyes filled with tears. The stars went dark. “Star-Eyed” became a figure who traveled with boats and hopes, carrying in her luggage the entire history and culture of a place that was lost in the flames.
First verse : The dialogue with the mother-A timeless invocation
“My sweet mother, do not cry for me
Even if they wear black for you”
The mother here is not just a biological presence. She is the land, the homeland, the cultural womb that gave birth to us. The narrator calls on her not to mourn, even if the world around her wears black. It is a transcendence of mourning, a declaration that, even through destruction, the soul remains untouched.
“My faded body
Flames cannot conquer it”
This verse connects the Catastrophe of Smyrna with the resilience of human existence. Fire, however destructive, cannot burn memory, love, the longing for life. The body may be faded, but the soul radiates.
Verse 2: The Swallows of Fire
“The Swallows of Fire
Even if they cross seas”
The swallows are the refugees. They are those who fled Smyrna and crossed seas, holding in their hearts the lands that nourished them. The fire followed them, but it did not defeat them. They carried their memory and culture to new homelands.
“The soil of my roots
They never forget”
No matter how far they travel, the land that gave birth to them remains alive within them. Memory becomes a root that is not uprooted, even when the place is destroyed.
Refrain: The return to the light
“My little starry eye
Come back so I can kiss you”
“Starry eye” is not just a face. It is hope itself, the return to the light. The narrator asks for a moment of contact, a moment when all darkness dissolves before its radiance. The kiss becomes a symbol of reunion with what was lost.
“In your holy tears
My lips to wipe”
The tears here are not just mourning. They are sanctified. They are the catharsis that leads to redemption. The narrator finds his peace in the sadness of “Asteromata”, because this sadness is sacred, it is the proof that love and memory are never lost.
Verse 3: The ship of life
“My life is a ship
That seeks the return”
Life as a ship is a journey full of uncertainty. However, this ship does not travel aimlessly. It seeks the “return”-the return to the roots, the homeland, the inner peace.
“I have set my sail”
The wind that fills the sail is the soul itself, love, memory. It is what moves us forward, even when all seems lost.
Post-Chorus: A heartbreaking invocation
“Ah my star, my tsivaeri”
“Tsivaeri”, this very Greek word, encompasses the meaning of the priceless (little gem) The star is not just guidance. It is the very treasure we keep in our hearts.
Claudia’s “Asteromata” is not just a song. It is a mirror that shows us who we are and where we come from. It is a journey into history, memory, and refugeehood. It is proof that, even through the darkest moments, the light of our soul-the light of “Asteromata”-never goes out. And perhaps this light is our greatest hope for the future.
Hope this helps 🙂
Greece is not just a country, she is an idea.

She is only 22y.o
that is really impressive
AK, how were you able to go from winning the Greek national final to reacting at home so quickly with your fake accent? You look so much like Klavdia. and take it from this gay woman, that's a good thing. You're intelligent, empathetic and very pretty. 😊
Hahaha thank you 😆 wish I could sing like her though 🎶
ua-cam.com/video/t2wkfIE_C9Y/v-deo.html
She is so cool 😃
So, Luxemburg is doing a France Gall reference, and Greece is hinting at Nana Mouskouri with those glasses.
I like the song, but there's a build up that doesn't completely lead up to something. It goes on my "relaxing music" playlist.
feel it :)
No, I could never imagine Klavdia hinting Mouskouri. It is just her style, and she has been wearing big glasses in every video before. It is definitely the association you make individually, but not the association Greeks make. Just because a singer wears glasses, doesn't mean that others should not
Her voice is good. The song is shit
This is a morn about people that looses their homeland and become refugees. In this case a mother looses her daughter and the mothers is crying to her ( be my lost wings and turn to me so i can catch you) and the daughter tries to give her courage to move on ,( my weak body will not be defeated by the flaming birds) the daughter also says that all her life is a journey back to the nonforgotten motherland and she ( the mother) is her air in her wings! The mother calls her αστεροματα which mean with eyes like stat and τζιβαέρι μου which means heart of my heart... The dancers make rhe sing of the pontos genocide...that's why the dancer's stay like that
Yes, I speak Greek. but I don't believe it's suitable for Eurovision. It's ok for her album, but it's boring@@Pegasos4
