So pleased to see this come up on my feed..... I've saved some organic heritage seed to send to the food hub that Mark Bowler Hat started. We must all share and do what we can.
Wow ! A rallying cry. You have done your homework lass. Well done and thank you. Farmers need our support. We are at war and people need to wake up and realise this !
Farming used to be a lifestyle, a vocation, a calling. However in the last generation farmers have been capitalised into “businessmen in wellies”. Nowadays, farmers and all their family members have to take 2nd jobs as main income to make ends meet and farming is their side hustle. One years poor yield means sky rocketing seed prices the following year. Many of the farms around me are selling off their land rather than pass the farm down as their children seek different opportunities. And they are taxed on their assets year on year which squeezes them out of the market. Small holders are being hounded out if their yield is poor hence low output. And yes, the main reason is lack of sun. This is geo engineering folks!
Probably one of the most sensible videos I’ve seen in years. Problem is we have corporations leading governments, chasing something out of greed that doesn’t exist, many of these ministers haven’t the faintest ideas what they’re doing when it comes to passing legislation on subjects they know nothing about. Unfortunately as a country we’ve been breeding incompetence and ignorance for decades.
We lived next to a plot of land that was owned by a local farmer. We lived in Great Saling, Essex. I asked the farmer if we could lease a small part of this plot in order to grow some veg, but he told me that DEFRA would create more problems than it was worth. He was a wealthy farmer, and didn't need the money. I tried to get him to loan us the land and not tell them, but he said they were like the Gestapo, and would soon find out. Probably by someone grassing on us.
I grew up on a pig farm, next door to a deep litter chicken farm. I tried to become veggie at 12 years old based on what I saw. Factory farming is just bloody awful. I am now 58. So this is going back to the 80's. I am totally behind the farmers but they really have to change their ways. They have been sold down the line. My Dad used to sell his pig manure and deliver locally by the trailer load. We all need to support our local farm shops. Those of us who can, need to try and grow, save seeds and share where you can. I have offered some volunteer hours to a local lady who supplies chemical free veg to our local farm shop. Katherine I totally resonate with all that you say. You are a Godsend because you convey the reality, the truth. I hope that this reaches many, many ears and has a good impact. 🙏
Your view is very simplistic, you don't consider cost of producing your utopia, and the amount of food 69 million people want and need. Sadly the only way farmers can continue to make their living is by being forced to become a "factory"" farmer, the problem is cheap food. Yes you can legislate to stop it, but all that does is move the same production methods abroad and import it.
I’m from a farming background and the smell farmers don’t understand that they have a lot more power because they can turn there back on the system but it is greed and fear that is holding them back.
This sounds exactly as my parents describe the older and today's generation, we grew up playing in mud and streams, todays generation don't move from their computers
Yep..very concerning Katherine…I feel once the collapse has happened , we will be able to nourish our soils again as well ourselves..the hidden tec will be able to come to life..🙏🏻
If you have the space make a simple compost bin or buy one. Making compost and understanding what makes a good compost. If you invest time into this, the worms, the microbes, the insects, the birds, the animals will come. Soil health is a big thing! It can't be done through compost bought in a garden centre. Well rotted Organic farm manure is great too! I recommend that Charles Dowding youtube channel will offer great tips. He is very focused on compost.
Thanks for this. Really hope the farmers in this country are aware of what you are saying and making better decisions for chicken, soil and human health. DEFRA is just another WEF penetrated institution! And the Sainsbury's Food for the Future document is truly sinister!!
Many years ago I found a shed farmed chicken sitting in the middle of the road, he somehow escaped the transport vehicle, about 1-2kg in weight, to cut a long story short, it ended up at a friend of my father's kennels, he had chickens, this bird thrived being free range, the next time I saw it about a year later it was at least twice the size of the other chickens, and weighed in at just over 8kgs, they are designed to gain weight fast, and when allowed to range free, boy do they gain weight....
Mixed farming has been thrown to the wolves by the system it started in 70s and 92 put the nails in the coffin with the IACS system,a lot of arable farms are basically quarry farmed because the FBT system gives no incentive to improve the soil on short term lets
I have a big garden and have seen the weather conditions decline to a situation of no sun.If it is sunny in the summer then the seedlings get burned. My soil is very acid and it’s not so easy anymore to grow food.My farmer neighbour took off his topsoil buried building waste and covered it up, that’s how little respect he has for land. Rudolf Steiner has methods for biodynamic agriculture but the death of nutrition by Paul Emberton is a book we all need to read.
Well said Katherine, I have always believed that part of the TB eradication comes from better management of the soil to improve cattle residence to such diseases. I would also like to see legislation against burning tractor tyres and silage bags. Blyddyn newydd dda..
Question for everyone who is in the military and/or policing: YOU took an oath to protect and serve, did you not? The Military is charged with protecting countries and populations with the number one concern being Security and there is no bigger security issue then food production -- sovereign food production -- no food = NO security -- the movement of food production out of nation into 'food hubs' (ie WEF policies) IS a major security concern -- single points of failure with NO resilience. It's bad enough that ALL Western Militaries have not been concerned nor stopped the WEF (Oligarchs) anti-sovereign take over of government by agents acting for foreign interests, who are literally the definition of Traitors -- including in Military 'management' via MIC. SHAME on all in Uniform for NOT defending your country, your people, nor your brothers in arms (the Oligarchs turn your deaths into profits) -- remember your oaths and stand up for the Farmers because this IS a Security issue.
A very interesting podcast on Humanley is by Dr Thomas Dykstra an Entomologist. He explains why insects can’t attack healthy plants. Everyone here will find it fascinating.
Many valid points made. Unfortunately, most of the food goes through the supermarkets. With the best most optimistic will in the world. That isn't going to change. The vast majority want very cheap food, so they live and afford some luxuries . Society is set up so the man, and wonan need to work in order to pay the morgage and household bills. The farmers who have played the numbers game, whether it is livestock or arable, are now ln the best financial position. The smaller mixed farms are the ones that are struggling the most. The sheer weight of bureaucracy and paperwork needed ensures the smaller farm, abattoir, and feed mills go under. The ill health of the nation can be attributed to the large percentage of processed food consumed containing a high proportion of seed oils and sugar. Not by eating the meat, fish, and vegetables .
am going to send my kitchen scraps every week to downing street no takes 30 years but austrailia system works faster my 1 acre has turned back to black soil need the soil to be alive and feed it
I agree about the soil. However most modern farming has been led to the place where the earth is just a mechanical substrate for plant roots to absorb applied chemicals. It's basically hydroponics now. The practical solutions are all there, but how do you get the farming community to radically change their ways in short order? It could be done if we had a government with the will to lead the farmers into a new way, but that ain't gonna happen. I'm afraid many farmers no longer know how to farm without chemicals and hi tech. I think we are going to end up with a few organic, regenerative farms to supply a small market of those who care and the rest will go. Replaced by a few hi tech mega farms producing plant material as feed stock for food factories and bug farms. US corporations will buy up massive areas and used for solar farms and wind turbines and re-wilding for carbon and nature trading.
