Fulani is not a citizens of Nigeria but a visitor to Nigeria. Hausas should make ranches in their respective states for their business. Let each state breeds there own cows. Westerners and Easterner do not need fulani cow.
Your words speaks volume that you area racist.. So the country is just of the North, East and west abi...well done oga...This is the reason one Nigeria is still in existence...The southern part of the country and it's people are strangers abi
Clearly shows Nigeria has been a zoo since inception. The more reason cows were drawn on our currency. The Senate president must take a legal stand against cow nomads in this country.
Build your ranches on the land you inherited from your fathers or buy your own lands for your businesses. Government should never be involved in the business of ranching or religious pilgrimages. It's time we get our priorities right. The country is about to go bankrupt. The time for wasting resources is over!
Thats the plain truth. Cows are animals eaten by humans. Not the other way round. These people should be told of our priorities not this flimpsy or backward arguements.Nigerians says NO to open grazing or Ruga whatever.
You should have shown the bit where the useless Akpabio recanted and agreed that the under ecowas protocol citizens are allowed to bring along their properties, clearly including cows.
The funniest thing is that this is a debate that has actually been doing the rounds in countries that Nigerians regard as advanced and better than theirs. So it is not as crazy as it sounds . But as usual we jump to conclusion on matters that we haven't given much thought to and to understand exactly what the person is saying. As it stands ...animals are regarded as property of the owners. And the right question to have asked by the Northern senators is... If the law does not forbid an Igbo man from bringing his wares to sell in Kano or Oyo State and for him to hire or rent or outrightly own a shop or warehouse to keep those items, why should a law confine a cattle owner just to being able to have a ranch in his home state. That's insane and ridiculous. If we are truly serious about stopping open herding, as we rightly should, whatnwe ought to promulgate is a law that requires every state of the federation to have ranches that cattle owners, (be they hausa, Fulani , Yoruba or Igbo ) can keep their cattle for safekeeping and welfare prior to sale. Otherwise, what is the point of Enugu state or Ekiti state banning open herding without providing ranches for herders to occupy for a daily rate??? So that when they bring their cattle on say trailers from the North to sell in the south, they can ranch them, pay daily rates per cattle as agreed, sell what they can and transport them back to their home state as they wish?? Why is this so hard to fathom and to work out. If we do not deny an Igbo man or a Yoruba man market space and land in Kano or Kaduna or Katsina to store and sell his wares safely and securely, why do we want to deprive and deny a Fulani cattle owner the same rights??
It's not about stopping them moving around with cows. If the movement now causes violence, mayhem, arms shipment, killings and wanting destruction, then it's about time it's confined to the environment where they are reared. Let's stop being sentimental. The Igbo and Yoruba don't kill people as they bring their wares nor so they cause mayhem. Is this hard to get?
The Igbo man or Yoruba man uses his own money to rent a shop to sell his goods. He is not sponsored by the govt so the Fulani herders should buy the land they need for their herding business and not expect freebies.
Best statement ever made by senate president
