well done! that's definitely musang king. and the price isn't too expensive for A @ top grade, which u always get outside Malaysia. shape is nice, so u get equal amount of flesh seeds in every part.
please visit Malaysia again for fresh & more varieties of durian. since u already had IOI, MK & Black Thorn, i suggest u try D160 @ Tekka, D24 XO, Green Skin (Penang), D175 Red Prawn (Penang), D145 Beserah (Pahang), D14 & Kun Poh (Penang)
durian season usually starts around May till August, and the small season happens somewhere around November or December.

At 6:06 we can see the base of Musang King durian has cracked at the base. Signs like such can indicate that self peeling state has started(getting over-rip), or it has been drop to the ground from the tree therefore splitting the shell. In all durian plantation, nets are placed to receive the naturally fallen fruit to avoid hitting the ground. Taste of the durian degrades through escaping aroma, with the added transportation time to Hong Kong or China, it is best to avoid. In Singapore, we avoid picking a Musang King with rubber bands tied around it even though we get fresh durian delivered by truck from Malaysia which is just 3hrs drive away. The few durian types which had thin shell are Jinfeng durian(Golden Pheonix), which are prone to cracking easily, but not Musang King or D24, Black Thorns.
Freshness can be tested by the stem. Look from the top of the stem for moisture(not dry and dark), or scrape a little of the brown skin from the side of the stem to expose moist light colour. If it is dark and look dry, the durian should have drop for more than 48hrs ago. Another way to tell if the durians has hit the ground hard, the thorns are usually damage, areas with blunt thorns caused by falling from great heights.
I believe the sellers in hong kong would not allow u to scrape the stem like what we do in Singapore or Malaysia, as i can see each stalls only have a few durians to sell like limited edition goods, so kinda resemble going into a luxury boutique to buy handbags. Even the stem is taped to prevent inspection, maybe? The most u can so is look on top of the stem if exposed, thicker stem is also a good thing to note as the fruit receive more nutrients compare to thinner stem of same type.
Sorry, didn't know you've realised u've been scammed and made a new video. I just stumble upon your random video before this one.

I think another hint of the famous Musang King is that the seed usually protrude from one side of the flesh, leaving the impression that the size of the seeds is big. But as you chew down, all you eat is the flesh. This is a *good surprise from the king* for first timers. You can see it from the moment she crack open the shell at 6:30 and also at the end of the video when she plate it. I don't see that characteristic from other types of durians.

    Tips of buying durian:
Shake it, listen if there is movement inside...
    Smell it...
    No crack in the bottom...
Old tree will have flat bottom, brown green colored skin with spots...
    the tip not too dried...
and... go for Red Prawn, Kun Poh, bamboo leg... these are previous durian champions

Put water at the durian shell n drink it. Will reduce heatyness. N wash ur hand at the shell goey white part.. Will rid the durian smell on ur hand.

You can check the wood dryness to see the durian is fresh or not. If it's dry, mean it's more than 2days.

If you like musang king so much then google raub town in the state of pahang. The small town has a lot of musang king farms. Think now got locals started tourism business for tourists when there is durian season but must plan ahead. Raub is small town and you need a local guide or advance arrangement

Try to find one with no cracks in the bottom. Cracked on the bottom meaning it’s overly ripe.
