Instagram- AdamTheWooATW The show is still great but tough not to miss how much more used to be part of it . The crowd participation part is pretty cringy now
What participation is there now? I remember in 2015, and 2019 there was a few called out of the crowd to do stunts. It really bothers me that my favourite park has stopped this, as well as things like Jedi training, which my son was lucky enough to be a part of in 2019. And also taking away the citizens of Hollywood. It’s really ripped the heart and soul out the park.
Yes the crowd participation was great. Bottom line is that the Germans were the enemy ( except for that second one ) it was Indy against evil and good came out on top. Sorry but woke political correctness is killing much of Disney. :-//
Adam, my 15 yr old son and I are taking Amtrak sleeper car from KY to Anaheim in June. Then 3 days at Disneyland. Looking forward to him experiencing the Indiana Jones ride for first time. 😊 Have you ever taken a long train journey? This will be our first. 🚆👍🏼
That's kinda crazy: "Remember that iconic scene from Raiders with the swordsman? We recreate it here! Except there is no sword, and Indy doesn't shoot him..."
Fun fact about that scene. The crew and cast were so sick with food poisoning bSpielberg decided to cut three days of shooting and go with the very memorable shorter scene.
@@brianbsully173 that’s not the story I got. I think Lucas said there was supposed to be a fight scene, but because Harrison Ford was sick with the flu, he just took out the gun and shot him. They kept the scene and it’s a classic.
@@EPiche09 And how has that empowerment changed anything? It's speaking up JUST to speak up. I am sure that having no guns in this show will help prevent a lot of wars. 🙄

Adam, I too believe the original Indie show was so very much better and I miss the audience interactions that were a part of the show. Always hopeful that they will return to the original.
What’s crazy is that the stunt show always showed you that no matter how deadly the stunt looked they showed you how they were not in danger at all. That was the point of the shows.
I was there in the 199os many times- once our Disney cast member told us that one of the Indy stuntmen got a broken leg by getting hit by the rubber ball. The show is really safe but accidents can happen!
Yes you are right about all the changes. The version they have now is pretty pathetic. When we come down I always used to look forward to seeing this show. Ridiculous how they’ve scaled down and removed so much of the show that made it special. We rarely even go in and watch it anymore unless someone’s with us that’s never seen it. Universal rules when it comes to these types of shows.
What are you mad about getting removed? Guns were a safety issues because of the blanks (thanks Alec Baldwin), the swastika got removed for fairly obvious reasons, and the audience participation is gone because it created more problems for the actual cast and crew than it was worth.
I remember watching this show when Full House was filmed there. I was a teenager and loved this show. I can’t see this show without DJ yelling Steve at Indy.
Yeah it's pretty sad that the samurai sword guy has gone - I have a core memory of watching the movie as a kid with my lovely late Dad and him absolutely belly laughing when Indy shot him!
I read somewhere that Indiana Jones shooting the swordsman was an ad lib. Harrison Ford got hot and tired while filming, so he just blasted the bad guy. It worked perfectly, so they used it.
100% agree with you. They took away too much, the samurai sword, come on, that should be in there! I was there in the early days for the full show. And yes after watching your video, I can see where it's been seriously watered down. 😞
The real million dollar question is: why don’t they have Waterworld at Universal Florida?!! Of all the parks where the guests actually need a good soaking…
I remember going to this when it was brand new. IJESS was closed last time we went to MGM. It is so sad to hear how they have reduced this amazing show. Seen it several times. Glad I got to see the good version.
I know that Speilberg gets a fee for the Jurassic Park rides. If he also gets one from the Indy rides, no wonder he just bought his own superyacht ... to replace his old superyacht. What a baller !
@betsyjohnson9699 they could still just sound effect the gun noise. Hell, they have prop guns that make the sound with no projectile at all. It doesn't have to be a real gun. That's just an excuse.

An interesting little tidbit for you. I was lucky enough to be chosen as part of the cast from the audience prior to 2020, and during the fight sequence I was positioned by the actor who played Toht in the stunt show (the nazi baddie that wore the all-black suit), he actually spoke German during the fight sequence!
