Wow ❤ been out on the course today and just tried to focus on my left hip at down swing ( usually I push my left hip to the target ) pushing back . Just this one move has added 20 yards to my driver and easy 10 yards on my irons . Thanks to both you and Tommy ❤ now to keep working on that and adding the rest of the moves all together

On and I loved the slow motion of that iron shot. Looks like the club squares up accidentally and then the entire clubhead gets knocked back so it slides under the ball. I think that is a great visual.

A wonderfully informed analysis Steve, well done and thank you. Charlie

Loved this video. My first reaction was that is all wrong, hips gotta go forward. But then I thought about Jack Nicklaus talking about rotating about the center of the body in the original “Golf My Way”. I had actually done this the previous week by simply mirroring what I did with left side of body on my right side with a lag between them. Really easy to do if you do it without thinking about it.

Such a smooth and beautiful swing

A good way I imagine compression. How much of the club face is in contact with the ball at impact.

He makes a very important statement about holding his left side at 2:46. Is this because he is a front post player vs a rear or centered post player? There is much discussion about what natural post type you are and finding that out to make your swing work for you and your natural body movement by the Swing Catalyst guys.

Good point, and something often overlooked, finding that perfect pivot point.

I think thats a good point. If you are front post player all you need is hold your left side, which means you don't need too much of hips moving forward, but rather moving straight back. I think this suits me better

What do make of the early extension in Tommys swing Steve? How can a player at his level EE to that degree? Thanks

??? His head position moves down, his right hip stays back as his hands pass, his hands lead the club head through the strike, the club face is stable through impact (no flipping) and if you could see down the line you would see how much right side bend he has at impact. None of these things happen with EE.

@@spm6713 I’ve thought the same thing in the past, however his pelvis moves up into the ball. That much is obvious!

@@golfnut69 From a flexed position as he rotates the left hip goes back and the left leg straightens. The pelvis goes up, but remember the club head is behind the rotation and is still travelling downwards. The amounts this happens is going to be different for most players. Just my thoughts, I may be wrong!

Best swing on the planet? Yes, I couldn't agree with you more. It's just perfect. He hits it so good that he should charge everyone a dollar a day just to live. ;-) When he figures out how good he is, he's going to win a lot of majors.

Hey! Why his upper back is so curved? I have the same back but everyone said to me that it is too much and it should be straight.

Tommy is the poster boy for the club face facing behind him at the end of his swing, as opposed to lying on the plane. Clearly in the video there’s no holding any right wrist angle in his swing.
