This opened my eyes to how to potential of athleticism that people don’t tap into what their nervous system. This is new and really high widening. I’ll be a client soon
@@triston5540 generally went pretty well. couldn't get two hands though. I've just started trying for it because it feels in reach now. I was able to two hand hang off the rim, but trying to dunk the front of the rim was denying me. I'd say it feels a month or two away if I keep working on it.
Would you guys consider someone like Wilfredo Leon, Yuji Nishida or Darlan Souza freak athletes? From volleyball those 3 are the freakiest I can think of.
i need stronger ankles any tips to help build around the achilles area considering all power starts and stems from there i feel upon jumping.. my lower leg region is sooo weak my friend
Are track and field record holders automatically counted as freak athletes? Jonathan Edwards could clean twice his bodyweight and run a 10.48, as well as being the triple jump record holder for almost 30 years now. I’m fascinated by him because he has to have the highest ratio of actual athleticism to apparent unassumingness I’ve ever seen. He looks like a high school math teacher. Christian Taylor, the second furthest triple jumper of all time, may be the freakier all around athlete though, having long jumped 8.21 and ran 45.07 in the 400. And Mike Conley, (no, not that Mike Conley, but his dad!) who never had a wing legal triple jump over 18m, was even freakier (dunked well behind the free throw line at 6’1)
Lebron too me is probably the most freak athlete ever. 6"9, 260-270 pounds 10-12 percent body fat, over 40 inch vertical off 1 foot and lightning speed, change of direction and quickness in his prime for a consistent 75 plus nba games including playoffs with no injuries. If he trained like a football player and not have to play so many games he would be insane in terms of pure force output.

also as an athlete, who do you guys think was more athletic, MJ or LeBron. who jumped higher and who ran faster on a combo of eye test and stats(cuz MJ's numbers might be inflated lol)
2:00 people used to say usains height would hold him back (wrong obviously)😊. But all in all I feel like people say they are freak athletes because their focus is on basketball while still being able to do those amazing things.
what people don't realize about NBA players is even the shorter players...look at Derek White I saw him hang on the rim and his feet are literally a few inches off the ground...and players around 6'4" they all have a 9' Reach or HIGHER so they don't even have to jump much to dunk. plus most have overly large hands making it easy to dunk also. The average Vert in the NBA is somewhere around 24"
When assessing basketball players, we can’t be oblivious to their training stimulus. Generally speaking, playing basketball does not illicit apadatjons that result in improved forced outputs. If anything, it probably does the opposite. That is one caveat I have about inter sport comparison of freak athletes.
The thing about basketball players is that the taller you are, the less fluid and agile you're supposed to be. There's a reason there aren't many 6'3 cornerbacks, you lose agility the taller you are. People like Giannis and Joel Embiid are freakier athletes than Myles Garrett or DK Metcalf because of their coordination at their height.
@@JohnEvans I think there is a distinction between a great athlete who is an anthropometric freak, and an athlete whose athleticism itself is freakish. You seem to be using “freak athlete” to refer to the latter, and a lot of people are misunderstanding that.
I think coach Evans is more inclined to, in terms of his definition of athleticism as -- gym day/practice day athleticism. Unlike Isaiah's which is more on the overall/game day athleticism.

Come on man Amar and amen Thompson aren't freak athletes? I know he's tall but I seen a video of one of them doing an effortless double handed windmill with just one step. Not only that but Amen runs a 2.97 three quarter sprint which I think think puts him in the top 5 which is very impressive considering other guys in the top 5 aren't nearly as tall him like Nate Robinson and Jason Gardner both at 5'9
i think nba athletes should be judged relative to comp. for example gp2 in 2022 was probably a top 10 overall athlete in the league but because he's not good enough at basketball, he kinda automatically gets cut from those convos if that makes sense. we're comparing nba starters amongst themselves. and with this definition, i agree with the australian white dude, Ausar and his brother aren't freakishly athletic. they're good athletes but not freakish. Giannis, Ja, Ant, Zion, Aaron Gordon etc clears them. they're not even top 10 in this defintion but yeah
White shirt ruined the podcast for me... says "free throw line dunk is not impressive" then names less impressive lifts as a counter point. Like bro do you know how many thousands of people can do 400+ power cleans? Way less can do a free throw line dunk even at 6ft7
Stay mad. Being tall doesn't make you a good athlete. Be 6'10" and still suck at high jump, long jump, triple jump, the 100m, the 400m, shot put, lifting, etc.... Literally any quantitively assessed sport they would suck at.
@@straightoutdanawf13 the rest of the people they said weren’t freak athlete are just for the fact they can touch higher than Isiah and how does dunking make u a freak athlete?
