Focusing on myself and analysing my feelings will bring me down. It's not the beautiful surroundings, partner, job, money, nice apartment that brings joy. Man has three parts, body, soul and spirit...many people just use two parts, but actual joy can only be felt in your spirit.
The more goals I reached, the more I realised that they can't satisfy the deepest part of me. We were created to enjoy our Creator and to express Him on the earth. And all else are vanities of vanities. I hope with all my heart that you can find eternal joy. From watching your videos over time, I do feel that you are seeking true fulfillment. I've been there, and know the feeling of reaching for something, thinking that can satisfy me....only to realise it didn't. But I have finally found peace. True peace is not religion, but is a Person.

Thank you Cathy. I do think that there's something to that overanalyzing causes negative emotions thing. For myself, I find that a healthy balance between spiritual and sensual pursuits brings me to the happy middle. That said, feeling down is just part of life, like the trough vs the crest of a wave. Hope you're doing great my friend.

Life is good or bad is eventually what happen in each person mind, this is an absolute reality; the materialistic measure (how much money, how many properties one has), the physical measure (how tall, strong, endurance a specific person is) are just pure on the outside; to one person 1 million dollar could be a lot, but just barely make a flick in the mind of another; lost the vision and gone blind could be terrible to one person, but kinda okay to a born-blind person. Each person is only have their 100% emotional capability, when they goes from making $300/month to $600/month, they're happy like crazy, but goes on from there till $1000, $1500, $3000/month, doesn't meant they could be 10x times happier, some could be too happy or too sad and their mind gone "wild". The emotional capability of each person is different, how much pain one could sustain vary wildly. Accept the fact that life is about what happen in your mind and your emotion, stop / reduce your effort in trying to calculate your life and other life by number like money, properties, salary, fitness (for example, don't laught at someone who lost their car, or take it lightly, that one cheap car could be their most precious thing); accept that fact and you will have a new serious start.
But...to be honest, on this globe, there're life that's like 99% "all that bad". Do ignore that people are suffering in hospital, in war and conflict, in slumdog villages.
Nodar Dumbatze: one's soul is much heavier than their flesh body, it's so heavy that one cannot carry their sould by oneself, henc, as long as we live, we must try to help to ease the suffering of others

It's really difficult because our brains are hard-wired to a negativity bias. It's a holdover from our ancestors who had to look for risks around every corner. And I totally agree on student interaction being a real-mood booster. Yesterday was my birthday and I wasn't a fan of it pouring all day but getting paid at my sub job is always good. My favorite bar in town is closed on Tuesdays so I'm going later today to get my birthday drink.

Well happy belated birthday my friend. I hope you have a great time at the bar tonight. Your comments and experience on this channel are always appreciated. Glad you're making some money now.

Thank you. I've been subbing at the place for about a month now and while it's only a couple of classes once a week (used to be three but I couldn't deal with the kindy class) it's something. You ever make it up here I'll bring you to that bar I mentioned. It's run by a real interesting couple.

@@PsychoGemini Like you said, something is at least not nothing. I don't think I could handle the kindy classes anymore either. Okay, I'll try to take you up on that offer in the near future my friend.

Yeah, it can be easy to be down in the dumps when you’re focusing on all the imperfections. It’s nice that you were able to reflect and see that you’ve accomplished many of your Taiwan goals.
Glad you enjoyed yourself at the seminar, bro :)
Lol, that’s funny that your girlfriend wants you to learn a dance 😄 I hope it goes well 🤞

Yes, as silly as her request makes me feel, it is kinda hilarious and fun to practice a funny Asian dance. Plus it helps me kill time at work. Thanks as always for watching Sis :)

@@DianaGrigg Yes, he had a lot of fun but he worked as a bar back (basically stocking supplies for the servers) at a pirate themed bar. So he didn't get to interact with customers (which is a lot of fun but can be tiring too) but he made some $$$. Hope you're having a great week Sis!

Life in Taiwan is good if you have a job that allows you to make a good living and that you enjoy. Also best healthcare in the world and beautiful country nature wise.

We have been getting constant news of the threat China poses to Taiwan and the realistic chance of an imminent invasion. Could you make a video talking about the way you and other Taiwanese people see this? Are things as grim as they seem or is this greatly exaggerated?
Anyway, I liked the video! You are a good speaker!

The conversation about gratitude being a great source of happiness goes back to ancient times. Apparently, everything has stayed the same. Whether it's you bitching about "small things" or two cavemen who didn't like the taste of a sabertooth tiger, even though they ate the tiger instead of the reverse! 😂

    • @ryfree
      @ryfree  6 місяців тому +1

I love your sabertooth tiger example! Yes, imagine complaining at the tribal fire that it wasn't as good as deer or rabbit. Thanks as always for watching and sharing your thoughts!
