I’m a GMC guy myself. I have a ‘62 I’ve set up sorta similar. No matter Ford vs Gm I recognize beauty and a lot of work to create something special. I love it ! My father would really love it being a Ford guy.
This is a really awesome set up, I would not want to do this at night and I would not want to do this for a long trip because it would become very tedious. But it’s still really awesome. Thanks for sharing.
truck very nice - love the long arms - I will be curious to see this tent on one of those unexpected wind events. - dig the pipe guys. happy camping days ahead
One thing came to my mind as I was watching this. As you were snapping in the side wall. First- the tailgate bracket idea is genius, but i started thinking about my version... I would probably coat the exposed wood frame with a brush-on bed liner paint like a Hercules or Rhino- bed liner for weatherproofing❤ This project has me feeling all sorts of JEALOUSY 😊 great job sir!
I was thinking of something very similar a few years ago, but with an angled roof, collapsable aluminum frame and bed addition that goes over the cab roof.
I guess would entertain an offer. It has a D4D modern diesel swapped into it that keeps going into limp mode if I push it by towing or if I try to go too fast uphills on the highway. I've resigned myself that it could be reserved as my extreme terrain mountain truck. I picked up another Gen 1 Tundra with the V8 automatic for towing and long distance travel to other mountain ranges in Wyoming & Idaho. Contact me here: fireboxstove.com/contact/
That camping set up is absolutely ingenious. Extremely efficient use of space. I bought quarter round edge trim tiles for thermal mass in my Billy pot. Hope you will offer those separately. I also have a custom square pizza stone for inside the billy pot, although I think pizza in the cast iron might be better due to higher temps.
You have to be careful with higher temps to not warp your pot. That's one nice thing about the oven bricks is the material didn't look at all burned where the oven bricks were placed they regulate the temperature of the stainless steel which is very important.
Steve, that's awesome. I've an '82 C10 Scottsdale 6.2l diesel. I'd like that on back too. Interested in how the wooden legs are built to raise it up like that. ⚡👍⚡ Need a copy of the blueprints 😊😊😊
Nice! I had a square body with that diesel engine in it that I loved once I got the heads swapped out. The raisable wooden frame is a very simple. It slides within the stake pockets of the truck bed. When lowered they bottom out on the bottom of the bed and when raised up there in the stake pockets about 4 in but can be bolted because of a thread insert in the leg of the rack
палатка это клево .но мне больше нравится жоский корпус кемпера по типу маленького домика и чтобы он был всегда готов со встроеной печью и кроватью .приехал зашол и можно отдыхать
Ingenious. Very impressive. Actually looks fun to setup. Can’t wait for in action videos. Any possible issues with embers landing on the waxed canvas? Kudos to you and the designer/builder on this build 👍🏼
Thank you very much for your kind words! The stove should protect the canvas and the wax as well. We'll see for sure when we get it out there how it goes. 😏
Love it, that's an awesome camper! I'd love to have a rig like that, much prefer vintage vehicles to modern. Just wondering how it handles rain - do you have some sort of cover for the wooden deck for when you're driving in rainy weather?
I have the cover on top that will stay on most of the time and I could lower the cab facing panel to keep the water from running off the roof of the truck into the back. I think that would work for light rain but I would have to improvise if the weather got too bad. I guess I'll be keeping a close eye on the forecast to make things easy.
Those pizza stones are sooo cool!
Thank you, we are excited for them!! We will have them on the site available for preorder next week. 😁
Love the vintage camper build👍
Thanks!
Very cool!
Thanks so much! 😁
Oh MAN! I'm grinning like some kind of maniac! Such awesomeness!

Steve that's nice but more importantly, I'm more interested in your 1st Gen Tundra. Is it for sale ?

That hot tent is fantastic! I have a 1965 F100 short bed. Can I order the tent to go along with all of my other Firebox gear?
Lol! 🤣😆 I don't think I could make a viable business of it.
@@fireboxstove That's okay, I only have one F100 😁
