Diesel engines, such as the ones on the leopard and some later T80 variants have always been more silent than gas turbine engines. That being said, I do believe the abrams has traditionally had the loudest engine noise out of all mbt´s, with it getting somewhat on par with others in the last few updates. T80 has definetely always had the sneakiest noise, but not by much. And I don´t actually think it affects performance to be honest, because most of the time your own teammates just like the enemy are both deaf and blind. I´ve seen enemy tanks near me many times, while my allies would be completely clueless.
The problem is that the Abrams and HSTV-L should have the quietest engines at top tier, I mean the Abrams is described as “The Whispering Death” due to how quiet it is
The sound's not terrible at the moment. I think planes are a bit loud they could do with dropping a bit. The only tank I noticed I didn't hear was one who was to my left when there were other things going off, planes, other tanks. I tend not to like going into the middle of big fights for this reason - noise overload. I kinda get that so I don't mind it too much. I've often used arty to mask my own presence but planes are obnoxious both allied and enemy planes.
I think those modification will be beneficial for the game. It will make the game a lot more Dynamic, especially in late game where it was too easy to spot your ennemy only with sounds and forced you to play like a rat by tuning off your engine.
I thought about asking you to take this bad boi out, I also played it today a bit but the teams were terrible, truly a shame cus Russia has an insane line-up at 10.0/3.
I’m quite mixed about the audio changes.. 😅 Plus side is I don’t NEED to wear headphones to make sure I don’t disadvantage myself, so I can just play with speakers.. Down side is I can’t use audio as much 😂
gaijin after fucking the sounds so bad half of the tanks are electric: 😮
