I would have chickened out in that petrol station until the rain stopped. Haha. Even if I had to wait until 23:00!! Absolutely hate riding in the rain.
For three years I rode all year round to London, then when I changed jobs and stopped commuting into London I said to myself never again riding in the rain and also when it is super cold. So for about 10 years now I have not ridden in the rain (only the odd shower).

Life's so unpredictable but it is what you make it and all important that you squeeze as much out of it as you can as it's a very short journey.

I deliberarly ride in the rain and cold and fog on occasion for two reasons:
- Skills. If I'm ever caught out by unexpected weather changes, I know what to expect and I have the confidence to deal with it.
- Appreciation . If you have been cold, wet and a little unsettled, it adds a real extra sweetness to your ride when the conditions are great.
Carry on with the brilliant job you are both doing . 🙂

2 years later I’d like to add a third reason; justifying the quite frankly insane amount of money that I have spent on waterproof riding gear.

Isnt it our lot in life, how many times have I been caught up and soaked? Having said that, it refills the soul when you hit sunshine again and dry out. as far as the industrial centre and the rain, its still an industrial centre and rain in Tenerife!!! Still winning!

Hi , this has to be the only real world weather video , you have ever had the opportunity to film , with real rain . Always fun to watch , take care and the bike has had a quick wash down .
It’s been over four months since I got caught out in the rain- I forgot how unpleasant it is!😆
Love the orange Fiat/Seat. Yeah, rain on motorcycles spoils things. I remember riding through France and a lot of Spain on the way to southwest Portugal one year in constant rain wearing a leather jacket and leather jeans. They took an age to dry out.

As always we love your videos and a BIG - Thank YOU for reviewing Monika's gear. You guys do a great job reviewing motorcycles, cars scenery and food making it a pleasure to watch. We like how you're always getting distracted by something you see while your talking, makes us laugh! Nice job speaking too, not sure how you can talk to a camera without saying "umm" but you do. It would be funny to hear Monika behind the camera commenting to the audience when you do something funny, we keep waiting for her to say something, haha. Keep up the entertaining videos and we will keep watching. You two make a great team!

Hello Freddie and Monika, really enjoying your videos in Tenerife, taking me away from this interminable winter. I admire your wonderment, enthusiasm and intense eagerness about everything, so refreshing in a world full of negativity. Regarding keeping your helmet safe, I use a simple cable cycle lock that I put through the chin bar and onto the handlebars or rear rack. It won't deter the villain with bolt cutters, but will deter the opportunist thief. Happy travels.😎
See, what you've got there is typical British weather. What's very untypical though is that you found blue sky and dry roads just a few minutes later 👍😁. Excellent video again you two ❤️

6 times visited Tenerife in November and 6 times it rained on us. But its okay as its warmer rain than in Scotland where we flew down from. Plus I was driving a hire car that had a roof.
Ha haa, I went out for a ride after watching one of your lovely sunny videos. And for some reason didn't put on my winter gear. I went too far and it pelted down all the way home. Nothing worse . Great video 👍

Been to Tenerife quite a few times, mainly at Los Gigantes, it has always rained heavy at least on one day every time. However, without being cruel, as we suffer storms in the UK, it's great to see you getting wet!! Ride Safe
Good to see Monika modeling her bike wear. Monika needs to be front of camera more often you're one lucky dude Freddie. Hope you get to go back to the biker place that was closed. The vegan place the food looks absolutely scrumptious. I know it wasn't much fun for you with the rain but it was good to see somewhere else has freezing rain. Look forward to your next vid
We have visited the Canaries about 25 times mostly in winter and in that time have always hired a car, my tip for days when one is not sure where to go on overcast days is to simply head for any blue patches of sky. Another great vlog Freddie, please clean your bike regularly and chances are you will come across loose or missing fasteners.
So true- there’s nearly always at least some blue somewhere on the island.
And a very good point about cleaning/general check ups🙂👌🏻

I'm not ashamed to say I'm a fair weather rider. I use two weather apps (for a 2nd opinion) and both have failed me a few times as well! I also use Forma boots (Legacy Dry) and I swear by them! Great episode as usual Freddie and Monika, keeping it real! The helmet hack was genuinely funny. 👌🏼

I've not really found anything completely waterproof and nice to wear. Rain always finds a gap. At least you can only get so wet, sadly you can get colder, though rain and 20 degrees sounds good to me. Great video as always from you both.

When you get a Calima in Tenerife the weather can be quite unpleasant fora while but they rarely last very long. I have seen it running ankle deep down the main street in Los Gigantes before now. We used to just have a beer and reading day or find a quiz somewhere. I don’t know which is worse in rain - moving along or waiting in traffic. Generally the south / west is the better weather though. If you have one disaster in a day they just tend to continue.
We do the same- break out the board game Sequence🙂👌🏻
20c in the rain still unpleasant I am sure how were the roads in the wet ? the food looked great Monica is just amazing at finding the best places to eat she must do so much research or maybe it's a gift : D well done Monica . Guys you've done a fantastic vlog yet again

The roads were ok, but even just in the first 20 minutes of the downpour we saw three crashes so I don’t think they’re as used to driving in dreadful conditions as back in the UK!😆🌧

I must admit to a certain perverse pleasure in seeing you suffer with the rain, but then again it's been cold (but dry) here in Cornwall for what seems like forever.
Camper vans seem to be taking over from caravans in the U.K now although they are a lot more expensive of course, Seen a few new ones for sale in Europe on youtube based on panel vans starting from £33,000 and their not bad, thanks and all the best.
Completely agree- loads of campers in Tenerife, but almost no caravans! They are not cheap

There used to be lots of campers on the coast between LosGigantes and Alcala until they re- did the coast path and put up a barrier.
I can see even near us in El Medano, the free camping spots are starting to turn into new developments!

For the last few days in the East Midlands it’s been dry, max temperature about 5C (but roads still wet). I’d swap your downpours & 21C in an instant! 🇬🇧

Feel your pain, we visited in 2017 and got stuck in a down pour on a rented scooter. Same as you pouring rain then brilliant sun down south. Great place tho.

Yes, some winter gloves have a small wiper blade on the back of the thumb.
I have actually recently heard some gloves have a visor wiper, although never seen/tried one yet!
There was a chap called Captain Maurice Seddon when I despatched in London circa 1980 who had invented a circular wiper. It was a bonkers device and so was he in a very loveable way.

I like MotoGirl in the UK ?Its good quality and noto too expensive.
A more secure way to lock your helmets and your jackets to the bike is to get a light weight cable and a padlock, thread it through some of the frame or rack and through the jackets and helmets.
This is an extremely good idea- I think I’ll act on this! Thanks John
You can get these straps for carrying your helmet from Wentworth.They go across your body like a bag strap.

Los Cristianos is the place for you Martin. Loads of nice cafes, bars and restaurants, good beaches, walking distance to all of the touristy stuff, but with a cool mixed european vibe🙂👌🏻

I thought briefly you had transferred to the N Scotland with that type of vertical and saturating rain when you went up to the north of Tenerife. I'm not sure that Monika's gear fared any better than yours but at least the return to the sunny Sout helped the drying off process. Yes if you want to test some waterproof gear Scotland's the place although strangely recently it has been sunny and fair. In traditional Scot's terms that means we'll be due for some horizontal driving snow and gales. From a safety angle hopefully you got that wandering seat fixed before you or Monika or both ended up in a heap! The restaurant you visited made vegetarian stuff look platable! Our Christmas meals consisted of a fair amount of vegan stuff which was, frankly. off the scale in terms of 'degoutant' but that's another story.

I’ve come to the conclusion after watching all your videos that my favorite motorcycle is the one you have.
Your older Triumph is just awesome. There’s just no good reason to not like it.

Yeah, I owned a 790 bonneville for 3 years and although the finish wasn't the best I consider it 'the one that got away' and one of the only bikes I really regret selling.

Fantastic, Nick!!🙂. The T100; there is no better bike for a first bike or a forever bike, in my opinion. It’s a Labrador; incredibly tame and mild mannered and easy to live with. Low seat height means it’s easy to manoeuvre and un intimidating, and it’s weight is low down on the bike, meaning it’s much easier to ride than an Interceptor.
To sum up; the perfect choice🙂👌🏻

It’s an iPhone 11pro and is waterproof, so no issues at all🙂👌🏻
