IF one Reads the Declaration of Independence, they will find Why No Citizen Can be removed from the U.S. for Trial or Punishment, for a crime performed here. GITMO exists for One Reason Only. For Detention of those who are accused of committing crimes against the U.S. (and it's Allies) Outside the U.S. IF brought to the U.S. even for trial, they would be allowed to use ALL U.S. Laws for their Defense. One of those, is Taxpayers Required to supply Legal Representation. Since the Gov't also Controls Access to the Base, It Controls who has access to Prisoners.
