UPDATE: This is a post I made on my community tab a couple of days ago. It seems a lot of you have not seen it. Please make sure you are subscribed to the channel and hit the notification bell so that you don't miss these updates. That is the easiest way for me to update everyone at once. Here is the re-post: "Thanks so much to everyone who has been reaching out regarding my safety. As most of you know, I recently visited Yellowstone and even did a backpacking trip in the park over Memorial Day weekend. We experienced a lot of rain and even snow on the trip.. I did leave the area several days after that trip. I was in Gardiner, MT the day before I left the area where I saw days and days of rain in the upcoming forecast. I am safe and sound and away from the flood zone. It is heartbreaking the devastation I am seeing. My thoughts and prayers are with all those who are affected by the flooding. It is going to be a massive and very time consuming undertaking to repair the damage that has been done. I also have friends still in the area I am praying for. I am grateful I was able to spend time in Yellowstone (one of my favorite National Parks) before this terrible act of nature occurred. Thanks so much once again for your caring and concern. It means a lot. Much love... Cat"
Catherine, Thank you again for taking us on your adventures. Places we can no longer access due to our age and physical challenges. You are our traveling Angel.
So inspired by your refusal to waste your life. And your comment that it was a trip you will remember for the rest of your life says it all! Godspeed and continued happiness to you. Cheers.
Catherine I also thought it was nice that you were spending time with friends and new friends as well as old friends. That’s what makes it so great! Hope you have a great weekend. See you soon!
Im also a rusty backpacker, and I acknowledge Im far rustier than you. You’re super fortunate to have packing buddies. All of mine are now taking care of their children’s weddings, entertaining grandchildren or the like. They’ve phased out of trips on a long trail. with nobody to join me, I’ve not been on a packing trip in a full TEN YEARS. *sigh* I miss it so much, but I do go camping and take in shorter day hikes. More than just having a good trip, I’m so glad you’re all safe and that your hike was completed before the devastation Yellowstone is now suffering. Take care!!
This was wonderful as always Catherine. Sorry it rained a lot and you guys couldn’t build a fire. Glad you stayed warm. Yellowstone is beautiful no matter the weather. Glad you were able to get in before they closed Yellowstone all together for now because the roads were damaged. It was for sad to see! I wish we could get some rain here in Nevada. Sorry it took me so long to get to your video I was busy unpacking boxes from moving back into our house. Our house got water damage 6 months ago and they are just now doing finishing touches on it. So glad to be home. Love your videos Catherine. Beautiful scenery. Seeing the hot cooking on a stick reminded me of when we went camping. It was so fun. Thank you again Catherine for this video.
Great trip. Amazing bear scratches on the trees at the second camp. I'm spoiled. I've lived within 2 hours of Yellowstone most of my life and have been to Slough Creek several times. I spent time in grad school studying nutrient cycling in streams after the 88' fires and Slough Creek was one of our control streams. I never tire of seeing it again. If your food is safely tied in the trees and you keep a clean camp, the bears usually won't mess with you at night.
Awesome Yellowstone video!! My favorite, the morning snow scene with a low misty looking cloud hanging over the valley and wildlife. Epic!! What a great experience. Thanks for sharing! We really appreciate all the hard work that it took to making this video. Thank You!! Cheers
Cathy, you definitely put your heart into the video production. From just little details - calligraphy, I can see how they are beautiful and how creative you are. Thanks for sharing the backpack experience. It was a delight to see it since we are not able to do it. Have a safe adventure!
I love your photography, music choices, narration, and story line. Your videos are captivating and uplifting. Thank you for sharing your journeys. So glad you enjoyed Yellowstone before the recent events.
@Mark DuBois I dont know her, however, she seems like an artistic, well organized woman, who could make a great companion. She appreciates the outdoors, and that says a lot.
What a wonderful trip! I’m so happy for you Catherine !!! Oh my goodness it was so great to see Joey and you out on the trail again together !!! Such fun people, I can only imagine the stories told !! Sending all my love !!
I can not go where you go so to me watching you I enjoy the scenery and whatever you show and tell . Please be safe in whatever you do or go. God Bless
Looks like you guys made it out of there just before things got really bad. Not sure how far north you were in the park but some folks definitely being evacuated by chopper. Glad you got to do your hike even though the weather was not cooperating. All of Yellowstone currently closed. :( call if you are traveling there as a destination.
Thanks so much for this video. Slough Creek is one of my all time favorite places. Now that I am an old Coger my backpacking days are long gone. I really loved seeing Slough Creek through your eyes.
Having lived in Montana for more than 30 years, I never tire of Glacier and Yellowstone Parks. I honestly can't remember how many times I've been to each one, but easily more than fifty. I had to chuckle from all the comments about the weather on Memorial Day weekend, because we natives to the area know that it is almost a given that it will rain, snow, or both at that time of year. Beautiful scenery, and I am glad to see you and your group respect the potential danger of animals and take steps too avoid getting to close to them. If you are up for a pretty drive and great food, go north to 4 Corners. Have a fine meal and atmosphere at my sister in law's restaurant, Kountry Korner Cafe. On the way, among other interesting places, you will pass Big Sky Sky Resort. Keep on living your dream.
Catherine thank you for allowing us into your world of adventure and talking us along during these magical trips into the world of God's creation. Thank you so much for all you give to your viewers and you are always in my prayers for a wonderful life blessed by God.
I was in Yellowstone about this time a few years ago. There were still pockets of snow over 5 feet deep and yet it was 70 degrees outside. Such a weird feeling to be walking in snow with short sleeves on. But the scenery was breathtaking.
Looks like a nice little hike I hope you made it out of Yellowstone before they locked it down I saw a lot of the roads were washed out the other day I hope you’re OK 👌🏼🔥🤠🔥Camping Russ out
Wow. I loved that vid, Catherine. It was almost like a meditation with the music, scenery, and birds. Thank you for taking us with you. It was stunning.
I sure hope this video is actually not current as I'm seeing flooding & notices of park closures in Yellowstone . I hope you're safe. Excellent video as always
Great video! The snow added to the beaurty in the shots. I was at Yellowstone on the same days as you. I usually do a lot of hiking there, but I was solo so I thought it wouldn't be a good idea with the grizzles. Yellowstone holds a special place in my heart. I pray that it recovers quickly. Thanks for bringing me back country since I couldn't hike this trip!
We can slip into "rusty" quickly when life takes us into other projects ( new trailer) I have been to Yellowstone 5 times never back packed. Your videos give me such a peaceful feeling. Glad to see Joey, I like him.
Just getting around to seeing your video. Great job. I returned from Yellowstone yesterday and left just before the heavy rains. Can’t believe what happen to this beautiful place. Hoping the fine staff of the Forest Service are ok. Take care and safe travels.
Always turning a potential negative into a positive. That's what I like about you Cat. Too much negativity in the world these days. There is something to be said about the calming effect of rain, as long as you can remain dry and comfortable, lol! Just being out there no matter the weather is what's important! Another awesome adventure. Thanks for taking us along.
When you said Slough Creek Trail I thought you might see grizzlies. We watch Stan Mills UA-cam’s and that trail is his stomping grounds, a lot of bear sightings on his hikes. Glad you got a backpacking trip in with Joey and friends. The rain can be the pits( living in the north Oregon cost range I can attest to that) but what beautiful scenery to enjoy in Yellowstone . Thanks again for a glimpse into your adventures.
Awesome trip ... glad you got to go back to Yellowstone! This one seemed a little less "tense" than the last one with all the grizzly sign and fresh scat!! Wish you would have had a little better weather ... but that's camping for you! Thanks for sharing.
I bet you needed that trip! Something about “getting back out there” just makes your world right. Thanks for taking us along. Great shots and company. 💕
Mother Nature is such a huge factor in determining our backpacking plans. Yellowstone is awesome no matter what Mother Nature throws at us...even in inclement weather the park is beautiful. Just to be there and bear witness to its magnificence is worth the experience. Thank you, Catherine!
Beautiful video of the great Yellowstone, and a precursor to the torrential & damaging rains and melt off over the past few days. I hope you & your companions are safe and out of danger from the horrible & tragic events of the late. Be safe.
What an awesome trip! The sights, sounds and views on that final morning after the snowfall was incredible. Photographers dream! There's nothing like the camaraderie of a trip like that.
Great scenery and nicely shot too! Nice to see Joey out on the trail, I have missed his vlogs. Call me picky; in England we pronounce Slough (the name of a town) as ‘slou(ch)’, the ‘ch’ in ouch (that hurt) being silent. Think I’ve confused myself.
Nice video. Crazy weather across the American west this season. Cant speak for Wyoming but we had the coldest and wettest spring in Washington since 1948! And it is still raining.
Beautiful. I hike this trail and amazed at camp 2s6. Had a black bear bluff charge me. Got caught in a wicked thunderstorms. But it is so beautiful. Thank you Cat
Cat, thanks so much for sharing this backpacking trip. Being physically unable to do trips like this anymore it is wonderful to follow your trips into the back country. As always fabulous views all the way through. Safe travels for all your future trips.

It's nice to see Joey alive and kicking!!
Great to see Joey C along for the trip!
Ditto.Love your videos Catherine. What's going on with Joey's 'My Own Frontier.'?
So glad y'all got out before the rescues and closures. Scary.
2:18 “a foreshadowing of what was to come” for sure. Pretty prophetic. Glad you all are ok

That's awesome that Northwest Wanderer, I mean Andrew and Lacey got to join up with you guys. That site with a view of the waterfall looked fantastic.

Mine too! That was gorgeous. Thanks, Cat!
Thank so much! That was my favorite part of the trip, as well.
Glad you ended your trip before the storm washed out the roads and flooded the streams!
Thanks for taking us along.
Yellowstone Park closed due to flooding 6/13/22! You just made it in the nick of time! Thanks for posting this.

Great trip, although weather was a challenge! I was happy to see Joey is still kicking! I’ve missed his videos. Have a great summer!
@Mark DuBois Agreed the world is better with Joey C and his hiking videos.
@Mark DuBois I dont know her, however, she seems like an artistic, well organized woman, who could make a great companion. She appreciates the outdoors, and that says a lot.
Timing is everything! Sure hope Yellowstone will make a speedy recovery. Hopefully the bears and wolves are ok.
What a wonderful trip! I’m so happy for you Catherine !!! Oh my goodness it was so great to see Joey and you out on the trail again together !!! Such fun people, I can only imagine the stories told !! Sending all my love !!

Always a positive mindset, your right beautiful anytime.
Your camera artistry is very moving.........evocative............looks like Yellowstone has recovered well from the fires...........
Hi Catherine, Hope you got out of Yellowstone safely.
Beautiful! We arrived at Yellowstone just days after this snowfall. My first time visiting Yellowstone and loved it! Great video!
What an awesome rip Slough creek is one of my favorites
Nice, inclement weather and all!
Can't wait to see this part of the country
Livin the wild life! One of the greats, Yellowstone National Park. Smartest thing out Federal Government has done.

Beautiful film as always.
Great work Catherine. The weather added to the beauty of Yellowstone even though it made things more difficult for you. Thanks for the fabulous video!
Thank you so much Joyce!
Cat, just saw the flooding of the Yellowstone River & closure of all entrances. Hope u are safe. 👍🏻😱
Yes! DON'T let the weather stop you. Dress for it and enjoy the trail.
It must have smelled so fresh. The rain and snow made this adventure that much more interesting for your viewers. Thank you.
Beautiful. I hike this trail and amazed at camp 2s6. Had a black bear bluff charge me. Got caught in a wicked thunderstorms. But it is so beautiful.
Thank you Cat
Great to see Joey again
You were blessed and lucky to get in and out of Yellowstone when you guys did!!! Yikes, flooding and washed-out roads everywhere!!!
My favorite trail in Yellowstone!! Good to see Joey again.
Cat, thanks so much for sharing this backpacking trip. Being physically unable to do trips like this anymore it is wonderful to follow your trips into the back country. As always fabulous views all the way through. Safe travels for all your future trips.
