Welcome to the birth of a legend. Here’s a little background info on Angelina.

What you will soon realize is that Angelina today at 18 Angelina is already the best Jazz singer on the Planet! IMO Soon to be one of the Best Vocalists of All Time.
Angelina won Norway's Got Talent when she was 8 yrs old after starting the competition at 7 yrs old. The youngest winner of any Got Talent show on the planet. She had to wait two years because you had to be 7 yrs old to enter. She started with a rendition of Billie Holiday's 'Gloomy Sunday' which she just infused with Billie's soul. She followed this by another Billie classic with a pitch perfect rendition of 'I'm a Fool to Want You' acapella. Her next performance was a beautiful rendition of 'Bang, Bang' by Sonny & Cher and performed most famously by Nancy Sinatra. She won the competition with what I consider her first Masterpiece performance of 'Summertime' by George Gershwin. Shortly after winning she was designated a National Treasure by the Norwegian people.
There is video of Angelina recorded by her mother Sarah Astar singing a couple of lines of "I Will Always Love You' by Whitney Houston when she was 18 months old. She started studying all the greats of Jazz soon after under the guidance of her Iranian Grandmother Mery Zamani a child prodigy in her own right as an artist and poet. English is Angelina's 3rd language behind Norwegian and Farsi along with Japanese and some German and perhaps more. She did this from 2 & 3 yrs old by scrolling thru UA-cam of all their most Iconic performance. Angelina doesn't just mimic these greats, she reinterprets them and then simply sings them the way they were meant to be sung. She makes them her own.
Angelina was begging her mother to go on "that Simon show" when she was 3 yrs old. encouraged to sing children songs, she would have none of that. Angelina chooses her own songs and she is absolutely fearless. No song is too big and no artist is too Iconic. All the most Iconic songs by the most Iconic singers in music history. Angelina has said singing to her is as important to her as breathing.
She will sing anything Acapella at any time and often does. Her Tic-Toc is full of these impromptu performances wherever she might be whether in the car, walking around the neighborhood or in a parking Garage. Accompanied by most often a simple guitar or piano her performances are always incredible. Add a band or even a full orchestra as in her performance for Quincy Jones at his request singing his arrangement of 'Fly Me to the Moon'. The same arrangement he did for Frank Sinatra. This opened for his 85th birthday celebration at the 02 Arena in London.
She is well known worldwide in the industry. Her family and Angelina have been holding back turning down many of the biggest in the industry while she finishes school. Remember she just turned 17 January 10th. They finally signed with Republic Records about three years ago after getting a deal that gave her control of her artistic vision and has since released 2 originals, 'Million Miles' & '7th Heaven' plus the opening soundtrack for the New Movie "The Hating Game" with her song 'Mercy' performed most notably by Duffy. Republic has labeled her their Highest Priority and assigned a team to her including Rob Christy a multiple Grammy Winner, often on the piano in many of her performances and a whole team of equally qualified professionals. She has worked with some of the best musicians in the industry and always get exactly what she wants. Some call her the Boss and have immense respect for her. She recently dropped Her EP 'Old Enough' which includes 6 original tracks. She has been indicating she will be releasing another EP of originals by Christmas.
She has been diligently perfecting her craft since winning Norway's Got Talent singing all over the world, Germany, Japan, Korea as well as TV appearances such as The View, Little Big Shots and most notably America's Got Talent where she premiered her Iconic Performance of 'Bohemian Rhapsody' which Queen gave her the copyright for. Her version is available on iTunes and Spotify & is included on her Album 'Magic' which she released on her own along with a Christmas Song collection. After Heidi's golden buzzer for her audition of BR, Angelina went directly to the finals where she sang YBR. After the "secret voting", she placed 6th in the competition and was eliminated from the competition. After first refusing to sign with AGT because of contract demands, a re-worked contract was eventually signed which freed Angelina from any commitments or record deal if she performed.
She has also sung for Many Heads of State including Barack Obama and a couple of songs opening for Norah Jones in Korea. She also sang at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert at 8 yrs old for Malala and another recipient. Mostly she has sung for charities helping raise millions for children charities and climate change. The great part is that most of it has been well documented often by herself and her family. Her Grandmother who introduced her to Jazz at 3 & 4 yrs old is behind the camera more than anyone else. She is the youngest published author in Norway. Angelina wrote and her Grandmother illustrated a book about why she sings barefoot. She was on a trip to Iran where her grandmother is from and met a street girl weighing people for money. Angelina sat and talked with the girl. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, a doctor but that it could never happen. Angelina told her to never give up hope. The girl complimented Angelina on her shoes and Angelina noticed her scarred bare feet so she gave them to her, and the little girl told Angelina she would pray for her every day. Angelina sings barefoot to this day to remind herself (and the world) that there are still children in need. All book proceeds go to charity.

You have fallen into the vortex of Angelina Jordan who arguably brings the most confident, versatile, seemingly effortless, and fearless vocal artistry found today (whether measured across artists, genres, or decades). You may think this an exaggeration but listen to a few more of her many performances (170+ covers plus original songs - all on YT) and you will see! She has been performing at a high level all over the world since age 8 when she won Norway's Got Talent singing Billie Holiday, Nancy Sinatra, and Gershwin. It is truly a conundrum when we try to rationalize how it is possible that this tiny sweet-faced 9yo Norwegian girl can step up to a microphone, flip some switch within her, become this "beast-mode" version of herself (most probably named "AJ don't play"), deliver an extraordinary and musically and socially sophisticated performance, then just-like-that return to the pensive young lady once again... There aren't words for this!
"I Put a Spell On You" has been covered many times and is recognized as a classic, yet almost never is the tone of the original 1956 "Screamin" Jay Hawkins version captured. This is because Hawkins was the original shock-rock guy (think Ozzy Osbourne-type craziness) and his style is difficult to emulate and also because his dated delivery is uncomfortable and stereotypical to our modern sensibilities. Yet Angelina respectfully sings his own song in a manner that exceeds his (Hawkin's image is on the candle she holds at the start of her video).
You must go and listen to Hawkins' original (and throw in a couple of "famous" covers as well) to see the true genius in how AJ incorporates many of his vocal elements [usually omitted by most singers]. This shows another aspect of her musical IQ and arranging genius (not to mention her masterful control of her vocal instrument equaled by few others regardless of age). @@gretazemek2738 That is a common misperception many fans have. It was not her very first studio recording ever, it was just her first take for that song. Actually, she was already early 8 when she recorded I Who Have Nothing. This can be very clearly determined by looking at the state of her teeth, which are quite ok visible when she "celebrates" after the first chorus. They are about in the same state, as in her 2nd round a cappella performance, which was on Feb. 7th, 2014.
And as I often get the reply, that those would still be her baby teeth: that's logically not possible, because we have very sharp footage that shows that the right central incisor was the first of her upper baby teeth which she had lost. But in the I Who Have Nothing Video, the adjecent lateral incisor is missing, so it must be a later video. And since in this later video, there is a central incisor in the place that was empty in the earlier video, it must be the permanent replacement of that missing baby tooth. And that is also confirmed by the very much different size and shape of her permanent upper central incisors compared to her baby ones.

Why Angelina always performs barefoot
For those who do not know.
At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina says she still thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. She was only 9 years old when she performed this song. It is her tribute to Screamin' Jay Hawkins, an American singer/songwriter. He wrote and performed it in 1956 and Angelina based her performance on the original, although she did make some subtle alterations to both lyrics and melody. As you continue your journey of discovering Angelina, you will come to realise that she does her own arrangements of most of the cover songs she sings. The differences may not be immediately discernible on first listening to them, but they are there. There may be a subtle change in tempo or tone, or more inflexion on some words, or a phrase may differ in pitch from the original. Angelina started singing around 18 months of age, after listening to Whitney Houston on UA-cam. She quickly became obsessed with listening to music videos and her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani got Angelina interested in classic jazz.
Mery Zamani is Iranian and was a prodigy as an artist and poet while growing up in Iran. Angelina attended the Oslo Waldorf School and participated in the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, where starting around age 4, she had training in music but no vocal training. Her teachers were smart enough to not attempt to change what she was doing vocally. More recently she along with her grandmother have designed and made the clothing she wears on stage.

At age 7, Angelina’s audition on Norway’s Got Talent, was a cover of Billie Holiday’s “Gloomy Sunday”, a song which was banned by a number of European countries during World War II because authorities worried the song would increase the suicide rate. Truly bizarre that this is the song to launch the career of a child musical prodigy. One of the judges on NGT cried. Angelina had turned 8 years old for her next performance on NGT, covering Billie Holiday’s “I’m a Fool to Want You” singing acapella which was required by NGT unless the singer also played an instrument while singing. This was the Judge’s cut round of the competition and was not performed in front of an audience. In the Semi Final round of NGT, Angelina sang “Bang Bang” which was written by Sonny Bono and was first performed by his wife Cher but is best known sung by Nancy Sinatra. The improvement in each performance is incredible even though there were only a couple months between them. In the Finals, Angelina did a cover of George Gershwin’s, “Summertime” and won the contest, capturing 46% of the votes from the ten finalists. When asked what she would like to do with the prize money she won (500,000 kroner or about $80,000), Angelina replied, “I want to give it to the poor children”. Angelina had become a star in her native Norway and her videos on UA-cam went viral. She gave a few concerts during the summer of 2014 while 8 years old. In December 2014, Angelina realized a life-long desire to sing at the Save the Children's Peace Prize Celebration which is part of the Noble Peace Prize celebration. The video begins by showing Angelina writing her “wishes” for how she wants to perform the song. Angelina has always created her own arrangements for her cover songs. At age 10 and just a week before her 11th birthday, Angelina recorded a demo of “I’m Still Holding Out for You”. Her family never pursued having that recording officially released but someone leaked it on a UA-cam video. Thankfully, everyone involved with that song is now ok with the leaked version. Many angels (fans) believe this is one of Angelina’s best performances. When Angelina was 11, she performed a number of concerts in Norway with a jazz/rock band. Those concerts included up to 14 songs, each remarkably performed. Angelina seems to be at her best when on stage, never nervous, only 100% confident. Also at age 11, Angelina recorded her “It’s Magic” album which has, at times, been in the top 10 best selling jazz albums. Angelina’s family refused to sign any agreement with AGT. Angelina, before age 14, had covered more than 130 songs from 80 different artists, spanning at least 8 genres, all of which are available on UA-cam. Angelina has always made changes to each song she covers and often her version is preferred over the original. The pandemic hit shortly after her performances on AGT and likely caused a change of plans by her family, most notably her Uncle Michael who is her manager. Her family agreed to a contract with Republic Records in August 2020. Republic Records declared Angelina Jordan their highest priority new artist. Reportedly her family requested Republic to allow her as normal a childhood as possible and therefore have yet to fully promote her. During the pandemic, Angelina was often seen buying meals for the homeless on the streets of Los Angeles. In November 2020, Angelina released “Million Miles” which she wrote after the passing of her beloved maternal grandfather. She dedicated the song to anyone who has ever lost a loved one. On May 5th, 2023, Angelina released her original "Love Don't Let Me Go". On July 23th she released her orginal EP “Old Enough”.
Angelina perform Concert at the Music Hall in Portsmouth New Hampshire on Sept 22nd, 2023. On 10/27/23 she released her new orginal singiel “Our Time”. In November 2023, she was presented as a debutante at Le Bal des débutantes in Paris. On 12/08/23 she released new Marry Christmas EP “Driving Home for Christmas”. On 12/10/23 she sing in Oslo at the Nobel Peace Prize Celebration - Unchained Melody tribute to 2023 Nobel Peace Prize laureate Iranian human rights activist Narges Mohammadi. On february 29, 2024 she had two concerts in Las Vegas, Nevada,on the Elvis stage.
On May 16, 2024, the first fruits of Angelina's cooperation with Tobi Gad were released. This German composer and record producer based in Los Angeles invited Angeline to an intimate concert at the Hotel Cafe JESSE & FRIENDS, the same one where Adel sang and was discovered. Tobi then took Angelina to London, where she performed His song If I Were A Boy at the London Palladium, and they recorded two versions of the song, Live At Saint James Church, and another studio version illustrated with a film from the streets of London. It seems that Tobi has started cooperation with Angelina and there are several joint songs in the pipeline. At the May concert in Los Angeles, one of them was presented: BAD VALENTINE.
Angelina's next concert is on Sept 20th, 2024 at the Alex Theatre in Glendale, CA.

Well, welcome to the AJ Rabbit Hole! You are going to be bombarded by her fans called Angels that will fill you in on this music prodigy with an old soul from Norway. She's basically been a star since she was 7 years old. First and foremost, she is a jazz singer but has the ability to sing any genre. She also does all of her own musical arrangements. Even though she has been compared by many to Amy Winehouse, her major influence is Billie Holiday. Her love of jazz came from her grandmother playing jazz music around her when she was young. In 2014, she entered at age 7 and won Norway's Got Talent at the age of 8. With her new found fame, she used it to appear on many shows from abroad and help raise millions for the less fortunate children around the world. At age 13, she was invited to participate on America's Got Talent: The Champions in 2020. She shocked the audience and the judges with her rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. She received a standing ovation from all and got the Golden Buzzer from judge Heidi Klum to go straight to the Finals. Her performance went viral and even the group Queen responded on Twitter by saying, "Wow, what a rendition!" For Queen to respond to someone covering one of their songs is quite a feat since they rarely react to anyone. She did not win, but her fan base grew and expanded her popularity.

When she was 6 years old, she was traveling with her family in Iran where she met a poor shoeless girl in the streets that was about her age. She made money by weighing people. After speaking with her for a few minutes, Angelina noticed the scars on the girl's feet and asked the girl what her dream is. The girl said she wanted to be a doctor but she couldn't because she had to make money for her family. Angelina did what came natural to her, she gave the little girl her shoes and told her to not give up on her dreams.
