bought this camera used recently and this was so straightforward and informational! thanks so much for your work and knowledge. having fun with this thing as my intro to film cameras!!
Excellent video, thanks very much. I’ve just purchased an OM30 with a Zuiko auto-s 50mm 1.8 lens that included the power winder. I look forward to trying it out with my new found knowledge.
This camera was my first foray into SLR photography. Brings back memories. I recall that there was a problem with the shutter on mine; if you held it portrait format, the shutter would stay open slightly longer than it should have.
Lovely mate, i use my OM-30 for Aviation photography on the Tele-Photo end, i use the 105mm F/4.5 Zuiko lens and F/5.6 305mm Hoya MC lens to do long shots on film, fan of Kodak Gold and Ultramax, possibly colorplus but like to stick with the originals, great review! Will share this with my mates to get em in film photography ;) liked and subbed.
The dog's breakfast era of consumer SLRs. Olympus had excellent cameras in the single digit OM models, but everyone had to compete with Canon's latest gimmick. Good review all the same. Peter.

Thanks for the wonderful video. I recently purchased a second hand OM30 and am just getting into film photography. This video was incredibly useful.

Excellent, the battery compartment is a bit fiddly .
Hi! Super informative video, thank you! I wonder, do you know how to change the focusing screen in the OM40? It seems it's different from OM 1 etc.
No Sorry -- the OM30 as not mine but a Loan camera
Peter another great video
Hi Peter. Do you know how to remove the battery door on this? The one on mine eroded and I'm trying to switch it out but struggling to remove. Thanks!

Nice one Peter. Far too many batteries for my liking!

@Peter Elgar do not cut your nails when you're taken that one out... hehehe
For the 100€ what would you recommend buying, om20 or om30?
The OM20 !
Does this have a flash
No. You attach one to the hot shoe.
