I've just now finished watching the series. It was simply beautiful and affected me deeply. I never knew about the book. I even hesitated watching it; I'm so sick of Russia. But in the end, I had to see Ewan McGregor. He's one of my favorite actors. Thank you to all who brought me this story. It was a gift.
This show beginning-to-end was brilliant. The book was wonderful and the translation to screen was worthy of Towles story. I am going to watch it again and again.
Beautiful series. Incredible characters, lavish set and stunning costumes support a wonderful script and flawless acting. Couldn’t get enough of it! Can’t wait to start on the book.
It's more about human dignity than politics. The events outside the hotel barely get a mention except that it's an oppressive regime. Communist, capitalist...same difference.
@@sergeant_salty Donald Trump Jr., has appeared to confirm, saying in 2008-after the Trump Organization was prospering again-that “Russians make up a pretty disproportionate cross-section of a lot of our assets.” Trump’s former longtime architect, Alan Lapidus, echoed this view. Lapidus said that based on what he knew from the internal workings of the organization, in the aftermath of Trump’s earlier financial troubles “he could not get anybody in the United States to lend him anything. It was all coming out of Russia. His involvement with Russia was deeper than he’s acknowledged.” Trump's favorite lender, Deutsche Bank has worked closely with Russian state institutions, and in 2015 the bank’s Russian arm was implicated in a $10 billion Russian money-laundering scheme. ‘HATS OFF’ to MS NBC. - They finally ran a story that doesn’t involve Donald Trump! / Ian McGregor is a great actor. I sure am glad he’s not political. ( In the Public’s face.). Unlike, Robert De Nero. (Which I am boycotting any of his films.).
As soon as I seen the diversity( in revolutionary Russia) I gave up, it’s patently ridiculous to put these people into every role in every tv show/movie nowadays& they never make it better, just more ridiculous
Ewan McGregor's eyes beam with kindness!
This is so surreal watching this as I worked on the series. Ewan McGregor is such a gentleman and great fun to work with. SFX Rolando
He fckd up with going for woke nonsense in this vapid tv show

@@Man_fay_the_BruHow is this show woke?
@@Man_fay_the_Bru Stop using the word woke out of context. Just say you don't like the show and keep it moving. 🙄🙄🙄🙄 Incels.....gawd
A gentleman in Moscow is an amazing book. I reread it about every 6 months. I’m so excited about this series
Was Russia full of the brothers in the book or is that just this ridiculous show
This show beginning-to-end was brilliant. The book was wonderful and the translation to screen was worthy of Towles story.
I am going to watch it again and again.
Trainspotting will always be his best film hands down.
Hey don't be like that
Apart from that accent🤢Glasgow accent is cool, not the one snobby McGregor has, Edinburgh accent is bad
Reading this during the pandemic, I think the message is that we can be resigned or resilient.
Ewan & Mary Elisabeth are brilliant in Fargo season 3. Absolutely great acting! Looking forward to this.

The first two episodes are perfection. Ewan McGregor does an amazing job. I’m reading the book now.
That is one of my FAVOURITE books

I remember when Evan McGregor played Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Star Wars prequel trilogy and his own part series on Disney+ too.
I first saw him in Trainspotting when I was 12.. so in 1999. Been in love ever since 😂
charming Ewan you are a favorite
Amor Towles is my uncle so this is so awesome for me to see!
Me too!
Enjoyed the show❤
Eye of the Beholder - love that one
There's also a five-star Hotel Metropole in Hanoi, built by the French in the same year, 1899.
This was a great interview! Thanks for actually asking about the series and the book...
You haven't seen Ewan McGregor act until you watch The Pillow Book.
Indeed. You see him a lot.
Badania person 😢
Excellent novel to highlight how too much government (socialism, Communism) is so bad!!

So all people in the past, even Russians, spoke with a British accent?
Yes but also American accents in Australia during the 30s when dust bowls were taking over
well since they made a main charcter black anything goes in this fantasy alternate world..Im assuming in this world communism won and took over.
we get all our $ from moscow ...... eric
There's zero proof Eric ever said that lol
But go on

A wee bit odd to hear of the new actress wife when you watched his motorbike adventures and met the old wife.
Yeah, like half the population, he got divorced. Crazy!

The book was painfully long - hope the movie deals with that

Oh look, Ewan McGregor playing Ewan McGregor with a fake mustache.
Did you not hear Ewan say that he grew his own mustache or is listening not your strong suit? Judging by your....*ahem* pfp, it's the latter.

Ewan, not Ian.
Trump is allowed to attack Robert De Nero but can’t say the truth about Trump? 😅 Republicans love double standards.
